I've been looking for options to get a backup key for my 2024 Elantra SEL, for which I only received 1 key fob from the dealer. These are what I tried:
(1) I installed Bluelink on my phone and can lock/unlock but no digital key option. So no good.
(2) Asked for a NFC card key, but dealer said not available for this model.
(3) If I were to order a key fob from the dealer, it'd be $260 for the fob + ~$200 to program, so total is $460. Really too expensive for me!
(4) I searched online, and found some alternatives for much cheaper (eg. https://keyshop-online.com/products/oem-hyundai-elantra-2024-smart-key-5b-433mhz-kk12-id6a-aa500), but I don't know they are reliable.
Anyone has experiences with getting a backup key for 2024 Elantra SEL?
Lansing MI, to St Johns, to Owosso. Out of work and a few errands. No big elevation changes. Can't wait for winter to be done, get the winter tires off. Got a set of Michelin ready. Hopefully a bit lower rolling resistance and better mpgs
I currently have a 2013 Elantra, and love it, but its getting a bit long in the tooth, I'd like to buy a newer Elantra, but I absolutely REFUSE to buy one with the "call-home" bullshit. What is the latest year Elantra I can buy used that doesn't have this garbage on it? Thanks!
has anyone had one of these and are they good? if not what are the good ones that just plug into my obd2

Hello all. Can you get larger tires then what came from the factory? I have a 2022 Elantra. SEL?
White wasn't very high on my list. It is growing on me. Something about this look, can't put my finger on it
2024 SE
Hit someone, stressed af. It looks like one censor got misplaced, but no warnings while driving and all works fine.
Could please someone estimate if the whole bumper should be replaced?
Less than 6 months ago I purchased a used 2022 Elantra. I absolutely love the car but the past month I've noticed a rattle when I turn on my car in the mornings. At first I thought maybe it was a ball joint or a broken cord in a tire. So I got new tires and had a mechanic check to see if there were any problems. Well, there were none. Since it's under warranty I took my car to Hyundai and they've had it for a week now. They said they were able to verify the issue but I haven't heard anything since the day after I dropped it off. I've been doing research trying to see if this was a common issue and I found a class action lawsuit for "excessive oil consumption." I got an oil change less than 2 months ago so I haven't checked the oil since then. could the rattle be from that? Is this common? Anyone else have this issue? If anyone has had this issue, was it fixed? How was it fixed? I've talked to some mechanic friends and they are all gloom and doom telling my my car is a lost cause and my engine will eventually blow. And apparently this issue is common for Kia and Hyundai motors.
TL:DR - Engine rattles on cold start. Is there a fix or should I start searching for a new car?
UPDATE: I tried multiple times to get in contact with the dealership and heard nothing. But finally got answers today. All they told me was they ordered motor mounts and they haven’t been delivered. I’m a bit skeptical because they didn’t confirm that the issue was directly because of the motor mounts. So hopefully once they get delivered they will install them quickly and I can get my car back and see if the issue is actually resolved. I’ll post another update once I get it back.
So I had this car (Canadian) for a year now, it’s been giving me consistently around the same mileage every fill up, the mileage indicator will always read about 389 miles (627) of range or less, but I get way less than that after calculating the miles driven after fueling up, the car now has almost 20k miles on it(32000kms) and I never really saw the advertised mileage of the car, keep in mind I drive conservatively most of the time, and always drive on highways one 110Km/hr (68miles/hr), 18kms usually one way to work, any suggestions? P.S it has winter tires on in winter only
Got a notice in the mail for a recall for the backup camera, I have a 2021 model.
Oh happy day! I’ve been holding out, so happy my camera will be fixed.
I confirmed the chassis is the same and only a couple of steps need to be added to install the Hybrid hitch from the previous years!
Hey, I’ve been curious about installing a carplay system in my 2015 Elantra GT (hatchback). I’m at the point where I don’t know what I don’t know. I have a few questions, mainly is the car’s system even compatible with carplay? And… how to actually install it? And could you recommend carplay units? Thank you!
Hey everyone super glad to join the Elantra Family. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on how to personalize it.
bought my 2024 Elantra back in October and this is my first time checking the coolant level. It seems to be super low. Is this normal?? (car was semi-warm)
I have a 2023 Elantra sel convience, I turned it on this afternoon (not a cold start) and upon startup it let out a loud ratchety screeching sound for about half a second and then instantly stopped. Does anyone know what this might be?
2025 SEL Sport vs 2025 SEL Convenience
Dealership is offering me a pretty good deal on either car but I need help really understanding the differences other than the sunroof and bigger screen for the SEL CON. What's the biggest take on each car? What stands out to you the most? What are your likes and dislikes?
Hey all,
I normally do my own oil changes for my 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL but this past time I went to a jiffy lube or something of the sort. A month or two later, I went to change my oil filter per usual and noticed the plastic cap was torn up pretty good. I end up having to hack it off in order to remove it - it was so seized on, probably from the drastic temp changes this winter. I clipped the threading of the plastic housing while removing the seized filter and now the oil filter is leaking too bad to drive. I ordered a replacement housing, but was wondering if anyone else has attempted a DIY replacement of this part?
I've looked online but I haven't found anything. If nothing else, I'll record my attempt and post it online and will update here.
On a side note - I hate this plastic on plastic design. I'm not sure what purpose it serves outside of saving money but I much prefer a metal setup.
I have a 2025 Hybrid Limited. Love the mileage and smooth rides I get in the EV mode. However, for the past month or so, where I live has gotten colder (~30F) and the car starts off with the combustion engine engaged and doesn't move into EV for short trips. The EV mode does turn on during longer trips.
I'm unsure about what temperature has to do with the electric motor being engaged - does the battery/motor only operate in a specific temperature range? Would using remote start 10 min before I drive help?
I purchased my 2024 new, I’m so confused about oil changes. The dealer offered 3 free oil changes with purchase. I’m assuming they use full synthetic oil. I drive a lot of interstate miles for my job. The dealer stated that my warranty will cover if oil changed every 8,000 miles however the maintenance reminder starts at 5,000 miles. Would my warranty be void if I did my maintenance at a non Hyundai dealer? What mileage would be correct for changing since the dealer is telling me something different than the car. Is there a certain brand of oil that I should ask for if I seek oil changes at my mechanic? Thank you in advance
