Need some tips

Hello to this subreddit! I totaled my car the other night and was looking to get a G70 3.3T but was told that it’s pretty expensive to get fixed etc.. I’m between that and the chrysler 300S (the car that was totaled) which was not as expensive. Any advice on how much the G70 breaks down or what issues it commonly has overall? Any input is appreciated!

adding apple carplay

I just bought a 2010 Genesis 4.6 with only 50,000 miles. however, I want to modernize it a bit and replace the head unit with one with apple carplay. Has anyone done this before and what is the best unit?

Updating Navigation System

SOLVED

Hello everyone,

I recently picked up a 2016 Hyundai Genesis, I was trying to go to the Hyundai website to update the navigation system, but it is saying that I need to switch the ownership of the vehicle through Hyundai, since the vehicle is linked to another person at the moment.

I already tried filling out their form on their website, but for some reason it does not let me attach the files, proving ownership and my license information and what not.

Does anyone know how else I can do this process?

Thank you for your input. Much appreciated.

Update Vehicle Ownership

***** UPDATE ****** For anyone else having trouble with any of this. This is what I did, with the help of the comments here.

Once you download the navigation updater from Hyundai or Genesis, it’ll ask you to register your vehicle, you just click the grey X at the top right.

Select the vehicle make, model and screen size.

Download a file to USB (32GB), because for some reason I was struggling with the SD card not being detected in the car. Unfortunately this makes everything take a little longer.

Once download complete (40mins), eject and insert into usb connection to vehicle and look for update button in your settings. And then just wait a while for this to finish.

Why are there so many 2022-24 Genesis cars for sale with low mileage?

I'm in the market for a sedan, been going down the rabbit hole of used cars the last few days and I really like what I've read about the 2018 G90. There's a '18 G90 Ultimate with 75k miles on sale for $26,995 an hour away from me and I'm tempted to make a trip. I feel like I could get it down another couple of grand but I've also seen that there are so many newer G70/80s with only ~15,000 miles on them selling for around $30k.

Am I better off buying a newer model for an extra few thousand? My max budget at a push is 30k. I don't drive a lot at all. I work from home and really only drive a couple hundred miles a month. Right now it's more of a want versus a need, my 2010 Subaru Legacy got hit outside my building last week and needs a new front bumper which led me to do some research on the current market. It only has 80k miles on it, is a Premium model and I feel like I could still get at least 5k for it right now and put that towards an upgrade. The G90 I'm looking at has been at a few different dealerships and the price has continued to drop drastically. I'd love to own a V8 while I can and this seems like a particularly good deal.

Is 75k miles too high? 1 owner and clean record. Wouldn't it still fall into the 10yr/100k manufacturer warrantee too? I'm a larger guy (6'3") and I've read this is the roomiest model. I'd also entertain other models but the V8 5.0. I'd appreciate any advice! Thank you!

2nd gen g80 vs 3rd gen g80

I have my heart set on buying a used g80 for my next car, but am having trouble deciding which is right for me. I want the g80 mostly for the luxury it provides. I prefer the look of the 3rd gen, but would like to spend only $30k or less if possible. Most second gen I see for sale are in my price range, but I wonder if I would be better off spending more on the latest gen. Is there a noticeable difference on quality, road noise, ride, ect between gen 2 and 3?

Sunroof problem for 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan (g80)

Just bought a used 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan (g80) and it been great. However I'm having a sunroof problem where it's cracking every time the sunroof moves and it got stuck open. Had to keep pressing the close button and manually helping it close.

I found a youtube video of the exact thing that happens to my sunroof

https://youtu.be/qwn4PJBJnKU?si=7fUN5mXGYNb6fZiR

Anyone know a fix to it besides taking it to the dealer? My car is out of warranty.

22 G70 3.3T owner

Has anyone else had an issue with a “clicking” noise in their engine when they first start it up? I only have about 18k miles on mine and I have gotten two regular oil changes. Granted I have had it for 3 years but it is garage kept and not driven all that much.

Genesis built quality

I’m thinking of getting a Genesis but not sure how quality is the built given that it’s owned by Hyundai. I drove a lot of Hyundai from rental companies and also test drives from dealers most of them I can hear the rattled noises of plastic rubbing against each other. Not sure if Genesis inherited that same issue.

Noticed a 3-4 inch dent in the front bumper near the sensor of my 2021 G70, replace or fix?

So as the title says, looks like someone backed into the front bumper of my 2021 G70 the other day and their trailer hitch left a 3-4 inch bump in the front bumper next to the sensor.

Thankfully it didn't break the senor and it seems to be functioning well but its really bugging me that i have this dent now. I would love to fix it but not sure the best course of action. Weather i try ti punch it out from behind or if i would have to replace the whole bumper.

Anyone have any advice / experience on this one? Would really appreciate it.

Buyback experience

Curious about buyback experiences out there.

I got my buyback of a GV60 Performance approved in early March and since the message of the approval I have not heard a peep from anyone about next steps and when to expect getting an offer. After I got my approval, the initial case I had open was closed and I was handed over to the Auto Solutions Team and that was like getting dropped into the ether/void/black domain.

I have called the regular service line multiple times this week in an effort to get some movement but they are unable to connect me to a human being who can give me an update. I have asked for escalations and still nothing.

I don't feel comfortable buying something new until I have some movement here, and the GV60 is feeling borderline dangerous to drive at this time.

What has been everyone's experience with timelines for getting an offer after getting approved? Does anyone have a secret phone number or way of contacting the Solutions Team..?

Liftgate open upon returning to car

We recently purchased a GV60 Performance. Love the car. Super neat. Anyway, my wife and I parked, went about our business and when we came back, the liftgate was wide open. Has anyone else experienced this? I read in the manual that the liftgate won't open unless the smartkey is within 28" so not exactly sure what happened. Thoughts? User error? Thanks!

GV70 EV range in the future

The GV70 EV has about a 200 mile range. Are there any rumors of this being increased with the 2026 model?
