Hey there, I have a question purely out of curiosity. I have a 2024 Hyundai Sonata N-line. And I know android auto and apple carplay mirror in a limited aspect in regards to the apps you can use. I know you can buy accessories to bypass app limitations and use apps like YouTube.
However, is there a way to jailbreak or root the actual head unit in these vehicles and just add the apps on directly?
Hello friends, looking for opinion on a car purchase!
2021 Sonata, used
http://carvana.com/vehicle/3306405
Falls perfectly into budget and its near the same price as the Edmunds value (dealer price).
Just wanted opinion on how it compares with worth!
Thank you
What features does the hybrid have over the nline? (2025)
I got a brand new 2024 Sonata hybrid limited, and the keyless entry sometimes didn't unlock the doors and other times it would be delayed. I replaced the battery in the key fob, which in theory is brand new from the factory.
After replacing the battery it's working really well. Just an FYI incase anyone else has this issue.
Picked an 2024 Sonata N Line! Will pick it up on Friday and very eager to finally take it home. My previous car was a 2013 ford fusion which served me very well the last 7 years, but it was time to move on. My first car with a DCT as well. Shifted very smooth on the test drive and more power than I’m used to. From what I’ve read, the DCT can be a bit finicky in low speed traffic and that it’s just a characteristic of DCT transmissions. Overall the Sonata N Line meets every requirement I had for a daily. Very excited to spend more time behind the wheel! Also, what is y’all’s preferred EQ setting for the Bose sound system?
So i brought my car to the dealership on 15th to get the recall done and a climate control panel problems, they told me that they don't have a replacement for the windshield so they need to get it first and doesn't know how long it's gonna be. I waited for 3 weeks already (the climate control is already replaced in about a week when i dropped it) and the windshield is not replaced yet, they do have the windshield already and on the phone they said the workers are still busy doing their things and that he contact me when it's done. It's already 29th now. And somehow he gets mad at me for calling every 3 days to ask about the progress.
I mean does it makes sense it going to be that long to get a windshield recall?
I reset this gauge because I thought it was being weird. I then drove about 20-30 miles on the freeway going 60MPH. MPH, once clocked only went from 12 to 14. What sensors should I be checking or replacing to make sure nothing is wrong?
Car is a 2007 Sonata
Hello, I got back from a drive and there was a smell of something hot from under the hood. I opened it to check and one thing I tried was checking the oil level and it looked to be at half which seems odd since I tried getting an oil change last month. I opened the oil cap and I just want to double check but shouldn't there be oil visible here? Did the dealer seriously not change my oil or am I just incorrectly checking things?
Have anyone installed dashcams (front & rear), hardwiring and hiding the wires?
If yes, how did you do that? Did you remove the trim?
When I decelerate the rpms drop to 500 and the vehicle will remain still if I take my foot off the brake. Also it feels like I’m fighting the engine when I accelerate, like the car is slow to accelerate or there’s a drag. Started a couple days ago and is getting worse.
About 6 months ago I started having problems with some of the lights. It started with a brake light, then a tail light, then both front blinkers, license plate light, reverse light. They work and then they just stop working. Sometimes they start working on their own again. Sometimes they need a little jiggle and they’re back on for a while. For instance, this morning both my front turn signals were not working. In one 3 mile trip: not working, working, not working. I’ve changed so many bulbs over the last few months. I’ve had multiple people look at the lights. No one can figure it out. I think it has to be some sort of electrical issue throughout the car for that many lights to continuously have issues. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My last car was a 2003 Sonata that I drove for 234k miles and only ever changed headlights. So I’m stumped.
I’ve been looking all over eBay and I can’t seem to find a radio that will fit my 2013 Hyundai sonata limited
It has the bigger radio with navigation and everything I find doesn’t seem to fit for the bigger radio display in the car
Any insight helps!
My 2017 Sport BURNS OIL! Has about 80k miles. There is no leak underneath or in the undercarriage. I do regular oil changes. It doesn't run rough. Due to my location, speed limits are 30-40 mph. The temperature here is 90's everyday all year long. I drive like a grandma very short distance/time.
I have found I'm topping off every 2 months or so. Like a quart or so. I have no idea. I've never owned a hyundai or anything sport/turbo type. HELP!
Going to test drive one Friday and wanted to get some feedback on pros/cons/experience. I like the look and interior, gas mileage is solid. I’m coming from a 2012 Charger RT so a completely different world lol.
My 2007 Sonata has a slow coolant leak. I have to refill the reservoir once a month maybe. Is there a likely place the coolant would be leaking from? If it’s the likely place is it an expensive repair?
I’m unemployed and struggling with so many things falling apart on it at the same time. It lived most of its life in Florida, so I’m hoping it’s a cheap rubber or plastic part that’s rotted out.
The car has never overheated.
Hello, the controls on the driver's door that allow me to move the rearview mirrors do not work. How can I fix this? And how can I move my rearview mirrors manually?
Filled up my 21 Sonata and it shot gas out before it clicked off. Looked online and others have had that same problem. So I got rid of the car, literally 3 days after I bought it.
Is this a problem with new models? I liked the car, but I cannot drive a car that I have to babysit at the pump or smells like gas.
Just bought this car, lucky to find it with such low miles, when starting it first thing in the morning, I noticed that it kinda has that delay and is like trying to start but not immediately starting. Is that normal or just because it’s an older car and the weather is cold? I let it warm up before driving to work, once I get to work I will turn it off and start it again, it will immediately start.
Hey all, this sub was helpful for me so I want to pass it on. Hyundai has had no major issues for 109k miles. Last week I punched the gas to go around a car and lost all power, oil and battery lights came on. Car wouldn't start, wouldn't jump. Got it towed home. Called a mechanic, he tried a few things and then tried to turn it over manually and realized it was seized. I cried for a while, then started googling. Found this sub with other people's experiences. Had it towed to Hyundai. Waited two days while they pulled the valve cover off to check for buildup (from negligence/ infrequent oil changes). It was well maintained, so I got a notice today that they're covering the rebuild, new intake manifold, and some gaskets. Offered other services (like brake job) which they would charge for, and I declined. He said it could take up to 3 weeks, so they're going to cover a rental for me. So far seems like really good news. So there's hope!
Hi everyone! I hope your day was good. I'm new to this subreddit and am currently looking for my first car. I was looking through the Facebook marketplace and came upon this listing and was wondering if it was worth the price. I obviously have no clue about the cars and I'm looking to 4-5 years before getting a new one.
Any tips will be very welcomed!
So I’m looking for some advice. I’m getting a 2012 Sonata for my daughter. It was my dad’s car, it’s got that old guy driving to the pharmacy look, so we are doing some modernizing. (Rims, deleting the chrome for black trim, Apple CarPlay head unit, subdued lights (preferably LED). Most importantly we’re not going for a look that makes it look like it’s showing up to a street race, we just want to give it a facelift.
It’s in good overall shape, some tired flaking coating on the roof trim, silver paint color, 97k mi, The engine was replaced due to a recall at 50k mi. I’ll be replacing brakes, tune-up etc.
Rims: it’s hard to find rims that aren’t trying too hard to look aftermarket. Just looking to make it look modern compared the plastic hub caps it’s got now. I was thinking black, 16-18” rims but so many options are over the top. Anyone have any good looking wheels on theirs that don’t look like it’s trying to be on the fast and furious movie set?
Lights: same thing here. I’m looking to upgrade to a subdued look, the current lights are yellow and sad, the sonata has very prominent headlights, but all the led aftermarket options are trying way to hard to look cool but just look goofy as hell.
Black grill and wrapping or plasti-dipping the rest of the chrome trim.
I’ll post before and after when it’s done, just looking for any pics or advise from anyone who has done any work to theirs.
Hello - I am in the market for an OEM factory painted front bumper for my 2013 Sonata. Does anyone have any experience with OEM body panel replacements, or a reputable vendor? - Thank you!
I own a Hyundai Sonata 2006. A few days ago the check engine code showed multiple misfires in various cylinders. It got replaced three spark plugs (2, 4 and 6), and the car worked fine. However, by the end of the day, the same issue came back, but this time only in cylinder 6. They’ve already intertwine the coils and the fuel injector, but the problem persists. They think it can be bad gasoline, or maybe some electrical issue. I don't know much about cars. I’m really worried about it, it’s such a great car.
Over the past week, I test drove the hybrid versions of the Sonata, Camry, and Accord. All 24/25 models. As a 6'3 man who hates driving SUVs, the only option that felt comfortable was the Sonata. The Camry driving position was really awkward in the front seat no matter what I changed. My knees were hitting the steering wheel. In the backseat, I couldn't sit up fully straight (my head was hitting the roof) and the legroom was poor. I also couldn't spread out my legs because of the way the front seat is built. In the Accord, the roof issue was even worse. I wasn't able to straighten out my neck. The driving position was fine. In the Sonata however, I had ample space in the backseat and was able to spread my legs and the driving position was wayyyy better. Not to mention the interior is far superior to both (minus the weird ass steering wheel shifter). I made my decision and now I'm in the process of looking for a Sonata with the spec I had in mind. Hopefully this helps out anyone struggling to make a decision.
List year, engine size, and how many miles you’ve got. Just wanted to see how I compare.
