Check your cards!

I just checked my Nexo card today and I got charged 4 times from the Emeryville Messer location at $75 apiece in the last 3 months. All were failed attemps (I never was able to get it to pump and now it is closed) and 2 per day. (2 separate days about a month apart).

I contacted the H2 help line on their site and was told that no one else has reported this happening to them. If anyone has used this site (whether successful or not), recommend checking to be sure the charges were correct.

If I hadn't caught it, it would be $75 for the privilege of putting my card into the machine.

More hydrogen fueling stations to be established in urban areas of S. Korea. The government aims to boost the hydrogen industry by improving related regulations.

Thinking about taking the plunge...

Please, owners and enthusiasts, help me figure this out. Here are my details :

There are ~10k mile Nexo cars here for 18k. At least one claims to come with the 15k fuel credit card.

I am in NorCal, near several stations with good uptimes ( Campbell and Winchester ).

I commute ~100 miles a week, maybe only drive 200 miles per week.

I drive a 2018 clarity whose sticker has expired, and doesn't make the trip to the peninsula and back feel comfortable. My daughter is learning to drive and we don't feel comfortable for her to drive this car.

I have enough money to buy a reasonable car ( <$50k ) with cash, but I don't like spending a ton on cars, would prefer to save for retirement.

I also believe that money, after you have saved and invested enough, can be deployed for convenience. It seems like paying a 30k for a used electric hybrid would be more convenient than paying 20k for a hydrogen car.

But, paying ~3k for the car ( after subtracting the fuel card ), seems like too good of a bargain...

Things I may be missing :

  • fuel card not really transferable
  • fuel card expires soon even if money on it
  • h2 costs go through the roof when Texas goes haywire with weather or politics
  • ???

6k mile maintenance experience?

Has anyone had to do the 6k miles service with the dealership? I'm 400 away and just wondering what the process is like and what they are "servicing"

Thanks in advance

Federal EV Credit

Does the Nexo still qualify for EV credits? IRS changed the rules starting Jan 2024 and now the dealerships have to apply for credits at the time of sale.

New EU Hydrogen Station Operator DATS 24 sells Hydrogen at €9.99/Kg ($10.95 USD) at 5 Belgian Hydrogen Stations. Why does TZ sell hydrogen at $36.00 Kg again?

Death Trap

My Nexo is a death trap. It has shut off twice while driving over 70 mph on the highway, once getting off the freeway, and three times while at a red light intersection. I have brought the car in three times and the dealership says there is nothing wrong with it.
