Hello group, I have a 201 optima EX. The head lights are dim as hell, has anyone bought led lights for theirs and had success with the being better? The headlights are not fogged over plastic, I have looked at the adjustment height and even raised it a bit. I have put in the best upgrade that auto zone sells. They still don't light up the road that well. Any advice?
I have a 2015 Kia Optima turbo that has 130,000 miles on it. I drove it until a month ago when my daughter turned 16. I bought a new car and gave her my Kia. She took off in it her very first day of driving, and the engine seized 30 minutes into it. Kia is covering it and covering a loaner (thank god) however, she now has no vehicle to drive since only 16. I really do not want a brand new driver driving my brand new car that would need to get fixed if it was wrecked as opposed to the liability insurance I was carrying on her car. We are tapped out with monthly expenses and literally cannot afford for my car insurance to go up at all. I have the loaner, but she cannot drive it. She has no vehicle to drive and this engine is on backorder.
I don’t know if anybody has experience with this type of situation? She cannot get a job or really do anything right now and while they said it could be a couple of weeks I’ve seen people waiting months.
I do feel like an asshole not letting her drive my car, but we live in an overpopulated suburb where there is way too much traffic and people drive crazy. There are accidents all the time everywhere.
I have a problem. Somehow, my Kia account (for my EV6) was created using my phone number and not my email address. Although my email address is linked to my account now, I cannot sign in with it (I've tried, I've even tried resetting the password using that email, but I never get the reset email). My wife is trying to add me as a secondary driver for her Carnival. I do receive the invite email, but when I try to accept it, the website opens, and then nothing. Conversely, when I added her as a secondary driver for my EV6, she got a notification in the App. In fact, in her app for my secondary driver invite that she sent to me, it actually says "Pending Account Creation". I believe this is all because I have a Kia account registered to a phone, not an email.
Any ideas? I plan on calling Kia this week, but I'm not hopeful.
My 2015 Kia forte koup has 70k miles on it and the rod bearing in the engine broke. Turns there’s a whole class action lawsuit that settled. And my car was mentioned in the document so i take it to Kia and they say “the car is from Gaum we can’t help u without charging you 13k” an engine of a car u bought for 10k. I start doing some digging and turns out military personnel who buys the car while abroad become qualified and it also saids all subsequent owner of vehicles qualify for 15 year 150 k mile warranty. I tell them this and get the run around. By corporate, dealership and third party handling the claims basically they’re job is to just look up the vin and file it but because my car was in Gaum it won’t pop up but the military exception qaulifies per this document https://www.kiaengineclasssettlement.com/Content/Documents/Notice.pdf. And because I bought from him hear in the states and that clause saying all subsequent owners qualify unless outstanding engine neglect is found I qualify. Right? So far I’ve been lied to by Steve from the dealership at first he told my model wasn’t even involved and then started saying bc I’m not military it won’t work. It just feels wrong and I feel so cheated I took care of this car. And one day boom now it’s dead without even a check engine light at 70k miles. What can I do, I can part out this car or try to buy an engine at a pick a part then pay someone to swap them but all this will have to be a loan bc my family needs my income. Btw I still o 7.5k lol. What else can I do guys. Ps I have liability insurance
I'm considering replacing our car with a Kia Nero EV but of the cars we've been considering the DC charge rate for the Kia is really low.
Having said that if the general experience of people charging from rapid chargers is that even for cars that CAN charge quicker they still only see 50-100kW then the Kia maxing out at 77 probably isn't so much of an issue.
We'd plan to mostly charge at home on off-peak or solar but there will be longer trips where we will need to top up while away from home so is the 77Kw speed going to make rapid charging painful?

I have a 2020 Kia Ceed PHEV. Last friday i switched to my winter tires and after about 50km the car started to complain about an issue in the TPMS -system. I’m pretty sure the winter tires do not have the sensors needed, so for now I would be looking for a way to disable the system to avoid the error and beeping everytime I start the car.
Any tips?
I'm really struggling between choosing between a Picanto GT 2018 with 8,500 km vs a regular Picanto 2020 with 10,000 km on it. I'm not planing on driving that much so with the 2020 I will still have warranty for another 3. Is it common to have to use the warranty on the Picanto?
The are both the same price, is the extra trim and horsepower worth losing 2 years of warranty?
Hi guys, just gotta a kia cerato gt recently 2024, it was advertised as 6.8litres of petrol/per 100km. I seem to be using a lot more pertrol than that per litre. Curious how others are finding it?
Hi guys just need help to see what might be causing my girlfriend’s car to lose almost half its oil. I just recently did an oil change on the car. Old oil was just about 7-8k km old. Fresh full synthetic 5w-20 but when I drained the old oil and poured it into an empty oil jug, I saw it was only 2.5-3 quarts of oil. Also one thing to note, the exhaust was producing more white ish smoke compared to my car during cold start and others on the road as I’ve noticed. There had been a recall repair for the knock sensor that I’ve had done a couple months ago from Kia dealer. She is the second owner. Car only has about 124,000km. Planning on calling Kia to see if they can diagnose but before that I wanna know your opinions to see what exactly might be causing it.

Been searching for a used car for under 14k dollars and Kias seem to be reasonably priced with good amenities, but on further research ive heard all the horror stories regarding the engine recalls and premature engine failure. Are there any Kias, or Hyundais, within the (2014-2020) range that have good engines?

So this started not long ago, my rpms aren't the same as before the car will acceleration past 2k rpm but going 60mph it will drop to just below 2krpm somewhere around like 1800 or 1900 which isn't normal from what I've seen on my own car, not sure what the problem is the alternator and battery all tested fine so idk if it's my injectors that are dirty or if they're bad. Also when I'm parked my idle like to dip below 500 and then jump back to 600 or 500 even not above or below but just on the line if I can have some insight on what it could be that'd be great. As of right now I'm putting injector cleaner in just incase just to clean things up. Along with the weord rpms it's taking gas like crazy even with eco on i went thru half a tank in 2 days with barely driving at all.
What is with how tiny they are? My 2025 Sorento can't even hold an energy drink can, but my 2024 Jetta holds a 1.5 L water bottle.

Anyone have an idea to why my home fuse is being blown when unplugging my Sportage? The last two times I've plugged it in and I did not charge to 100% it blows the fuse. When unplugging from the vehicle (before unplugging charger from wall) I notice the fuse is blown. I have not tried it the other way around, yet. Should I be unplugging from the wall outlet first?
Now, I use a J1772 extender to reach the vehicle. I noticed this last time that the outer sheath on the extender is starting to pull back from the extension point/plug to expose all the internal wiring. I'm guessing it ripped from my winding up the cord(s) to put in a pail on my porch when not in use. I already have a warranty but maybe this has something do with it? Everything is only about a month old.
EDIT: I've never had a problem before charging to 100%.
I have been eyeing the k5 2025 ($27k) for a while and is my dream car. I was curious if the k4 2025 (21k) might be a better choice due to its price and the fact that it’s new.
In terms of quality, longevity, and personal preference, what do you guys recommend (I do not care about speed).

Hi! I have standard radio system on Kia Rio 2013 without BT. Is there an option to buy OEM radio system with bluetooth option (swap some controls in steering wheel too) and just change into it? I guess not (because lack of microphone in my car...). But on the other hand I read tutorials how to get cruise control just adding controls on steering wheel so I'm confused...Maybe you have such expirience.
I rented a Ceed with LFA. I'm amazed. I'm so much less tired doing long distance driving. I want it! I'd like to buy a used Kia with it. What year do I look for? Is it only in Automatics?

2015 Kia Soul with 67k miles. Engine started idling rough, and the acceleration was sluggish after a 300-mile road trip. Ran diag and pulled codes P0300, P0303, and P0304, which shows random cylinder misfire, cylinder 3 misfire, and cylinder 4 misfire, respectively.
What is the course of action here? Is this dealership issue under warranty? My warranty is good until May 2025.
I purchased a third-generation Picanto early this year, but unfortunately, it lacks cruise control. I’ve noticed several cruise control steering wheel parts available on eBay that claim to be plug-and-play. Is this true? Can I simply purchase a cruise control part and have it work seamlessly?

We have been doing our research and finally decided on a EV9 land, went in to look at putting down a deposit on the waitlist for one and our Kia dealer slapped an extra 3000 in fees on top of the lease with Zero negotiation, Told us it was mandatory and when i started to question the fees and have her explain to me why this was mandatory the Dealer got extremely defensive and condescending.
We are fine with paying the admin fees on a new ev9, we understand there's documentation fees etc.. but adding on an 1800.00 Ceramic protection package which we absolutely do not need living on Vancouver island where it rains most of the year as well as forcing us to buy the weather mats at 399.99.
Are these bullshit fees truley mandatory? has anyone had any luck taking their quote to another dealership to see if they are more flexible or are willing to negotiate to make the sale?
I really want to buy this car. But when I look on the internet, it has some significant problems, like the lane-keep assist not working and pulling you out of the lane when the road line is not well-painted. The engine is also not good; the shifter can break. But is all of that true or false? Can I get some information about this car to determine if it's a good, reliable car or not?

I have a 2016 forte5 sx (standard trans) with a 1.6 tgdi engine in it and been having a problem on and off for a while. It manifests in different ways but due to the same resulting symptoms I think it's all related. Doesn't always throw an engine light, will explain
The short version: RPM guage doesn't read on the dash (but the built in indicator recommending to shift to the next gear around 2k does) When this happens, it is "locked out" of stage 3 turbo (big whooshing sound, won't go to whistle) and when it gets to that interval power plateaus (more like alternates between power and cutoff) and stutters (like the whole thing is in and out)
Examples of how I know it's going to happen (in order of discovery)
Car came with an engine light that causes the stuttering/turbo issue upon purchase (used, from a dealership). Took them several tries because the engine code was for crankshaft position sensor, which was replaced and threw the code again. Finally gave up on the dealer after 3/4 tries and took it to my local mechanic (AAA registered) who... Did something I can't remember.
Fast forward a year or so: sometimes cold starts take a long time to catch. Starter cranks and cranks but no ignition until at least the 7th revolution. Now RPM guage is dead
Now while driving, everything works as expected until I sometimes (daily) experience a complete loss of power, then it "catches" again, sometimes it'll do this up to 3 times. The last time it happens the RPM guage dies, and the (traction control) light turns on, turbo issue begins, and trying to quickly turn off the car and restart the engine results in the long start and automatic dead RPM guage. No engine light unless I drive with traction control off, then it'll show an engine light
Sometimes it'll just idle out in neutral as I stop at a red light or chill parked for a bit. Does anyone have any idea? Cash is tight and I can't afford to throw too much money at the wrong things.
My research found the rpm is read by the right wheel speed sensor, but I have a weird feeling it has to do with something shorting the PCU
