Will I be able to get any good running Drz400 with this money?
Picture of my SM for attention... and validation.
Tired of swapping my wheels back and forth, and doing a bit more trail riding than I originally thought. Have an opportunity to pick up an E model. I've never owned an E before, so E owners of the world, what's different that I should know coming from many an S and SM?
Is the jetting different with the FCR carb? What should I expect from the stock suspension? Is the maintenance interval similar? Any other things I should know before I inevitably start wrenching on my new E that is different from the S and SM?
Currently cleaning my chain, noticed my front sprocket has been grinding into the swing arm bushing, can't find too much about it online, is this normal? Or a sign that something is out of alignment / chain is too tight?
Anyone got experience or recommendations for options to raise the drz sm handlebars? i'm 6'3 and i feel like the handlebars are down by my hips when riding it.
Hi, have a 2024 drz400e and looking at putting wrap around bark busters on the bike. trying to find videos on putting them on but no luck. Do the oem grips have bar ends or do I have to cut the ends off? Not worried about levers clashing because I am gonna buy shorty levers to put on at same time. Thanks.
where yall finding grips for the fat bars? i can't seem to find any unless 7/8 fits on them and im delusional
Posting this for my buddy with a converted E with sumo wheels on it. He wants dirt wheels and tires. They are black with gold hubs. Excel wheels. We are located in Vegas, and the tires are new. Shipping is cost prohibitive for both parties, so mainly looking for someone within a few hours of Vegas.
Is that enough for a reliable bike? Preferably SM.
Found sumo wheels (hubs, spokes, rims, tires, and sprocket) for $250. Question is, is it worth it for the investment? I don’t think I’ll ride fast enough that I’ll need larger rotor and adapter.
Obviously I’ll still keep dirt wheels for swapping. But does it really make that much of a difference on the street as daily usage? Tho i have no complaints on DS rubbers wear, it would be nice to change them less often.
My riding style includes:
Got stolen they took the ignition out and used a paper clip to start it. I had no interest in 3 months so I decided to start it with that technique I found a paper clip put it in the orange and red terminals it started up ran for 20 seconds then sparked where I put the paper clip in at and the bike all lost power! Any thought? Did I blow the cdi ? Did I blow the starter relay? Is it a easy fix ?! Do I need to just charge the battery which I'm doing now
I am looking to get new tires soon. I am wondering which size(s) to go for.
I off-road a lot, but still drive on the road often as well. I understand stock sizes are 80/100/21 and 120/90/18. I also have read some go up to 130 on the rear. As well as 120/100. Some do 90/90, 90/100, 100/90 /18 on the front.
I am newer to this world so all the different sizes throw me off. For my truck, I am always in favor of skinnier and taller, but I know that truck off-roading and bike off-roading is different in terms of tire sizing.
So, what do y'all use and why?
(2005 drz400s) So i was riding along a dirtroad, per usual, with what seemed like a very slightly noisy ACCT. all of a sudden theres a noticeable pop noise and the bike kinda just rolls to a stop ( clutch in ) and dies. When trying to start it back up, it doesnt, seems like low compression. How screwed am I?
