Any UK members here with the xl750? Am struggling to find a kit sold in the UK. Lust racing do a shock clevis but that looks like a lot of work id rather just change links. Any advice please? Also, i heard that the kit is the same as the CRF1000/1100? Cheers
I want to ride more into the evening and the normal headlight just isnt cutting it. Any recommendations would be amazing. Thank you.
I cannot find weights for Klim clothing anywhere online. Does anyone know what the weights are for Carlsbad and Traverse jackets? I don't care about the sizes as long as they are the same for both jackets. Thanks.
For those that have big calves - like proper - here's my experience so far with Astars Toucan and Forma Adventure.
I'm a big guy. 1.80, 115kg. My feet are wide, not just wide but superwide. My shoe size is really 44/45 but I always buy 46.5/47 to fit my wide feet. If I don't do that, it's super uncomfortable until my weight and my feet just completely ruin the shoes with the sides of the shoe bulging over the soles.
I have massive calves. This, I assume, due to having ridden bycicles everyday from my 8th till 19th. I am from holland and most kids/adults from my village all had to ride their bikes everyday to school in a nearbye city. Approx 15 -20km a day the whole year. This was/is still normal.
I know I am big, but my calves are rock solid.
Anyway, I bought the toucan on order, size 47. My feet fit perfectly, but the shin barely closed with the velcro and as a result the upper hinge could almost not be secured. My initial thoughts were, 'they fit, I'll keep them' but then I put on pants. I could not for the life of me stretch the pants over the shinplate, and when tried to put the pants inside, the upper hinge could not be secured - I tried - .
Same shit with the Forma's - that offer significantly less protection than the toucan's.
I am at a loss here. I am a new rider, I want good protection for my feet, but I genuinely don't know if I can find a boot that will fit me.
FYI - the toucans are considered wider than usual - so I guess I need to find a dead elephant, cut off his feet and use those for protection.
Anyone with similar issues that can recommend me boots that will fit.
I can not resort to size 48 - that would be too big and unsafe.
Thank you
It got me thinking when I saw a post here of a wr250, introduced as a dual sport. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing it. WR is certainly a great bike (I would love one) but in my mind it sits firmly in the enduro category, i.e. purpose built for off road.
I think of a dual sport as any bike designed for both on and off road. I'm interested to understand what/how everyone categories a dual sport.
Always wanted a kx450 because kawi fanboi. However, decided it's more practical to get a dual sport so I can ride it to the trails and such.
Looking sorta in the KTM 500/husky 501 fe range. Opinions out there are all over...even read one recommendation that said husky don't last over 150 hours before major repairs. Seen a lot of recommendations for Beta 500.
Thoughts? Am I overlooking anything I should be looking at?
Hello,
I’m considering replacing my Tech 7s with the Sidi X Power Enduro. I see on Sidi’s website that there is a wateproof version, but I can’t seem to find any shop that sells them, not even the big online ones.
Does anyone have experience with this model?
I have three questions about these boots:
*Comfortable = I understand this isn’t a touring boot. I’m looking for something that will be “okay-ish” to wear all day and that I can get off the bike and walk around a village for 5–10 minutes. For example: Sidi Adventure 2 = Gold, Tech 7s = Acceptable, Hardcore motocross boot = Hell no.
Spain is in the front, and the picture was talento in Portugal
With the riding season winding down in the Canadian prairies I'm already planning next Summers riding.
While I am now living in Southern Alberta, Saskatchewan is home and as I approach 50 I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. I think next summer I might do a solo trip across the Saskatchewan section of the TCAT.
Has anybody done this ride? Any input or advice or just trip reports to share?
Some minor mods, bought new in ‘97. Converted to street legal in the aughts after cross country racing for four years.
I’ve got a 1996 Suzuki DR350SE that I’ve been loving. The only thing I’m very slightly disappointed with is the MPG that it gets. As of right now, it averages about 35 mpg. From everything I’ve read, I should be expecting closer to 50 mpg
Most riding is fairly easy going grocery getting, gravel and dirt two track and occasional highway to get to the two track.
I have reasons to believe that it runs on the richer side, which would certainly hurt mpg. But I’m wondering if there might be any other causes, any ideas would be great!
Looking for some locals to ride with!
Anyone know a cheaper way to ship ADV bikes from Dallas to Seattle We are looking at minimum of 4-6 bikes that’ll be fully loaded with panniers. We are heading towards Dempster end of June
Anyone here used the Alcans on a smaller bike?
2007 DRZ400SM (with dual sport tires) that i daily drive and was about to go ride some trails with later today
Anyone else confused with timelines and what to get with all the new bikes shown at EICMA? I currently have a T7 and looking for something smaller. Was eyeing a Beta 390RR, though now see the new DR-Z4S and KTM Enduro390 wondering when they will launch in North America and for how much, alongside how good they will be.
Being new bikes used won't be an option, and currently dealers are charging $9k+cad for a 2023 DRZ, so I assume the new one maybe $10k. The 390 enduro I have no idea, assuming more than the DRZ and less than the 690, so perhaps $10-12k cad.
Just got a Husky 501s and am thinking of installing a Graves slipon with a USFS spark arrestor. Will I get hassled for this if I ride my bike to the park? I know the laws are weird right now. Any experience is appreciated for OHV's and/or BLM, USFS land!
Specifically wondering about Metcalf, Carnagie, and Hollister for OHV's.
Thanks!
Edit: also curious about an integrated tail light.. I know they're illegal in CA but no one ever bothers me on my street bikes.. also never have to worry about them getting inspected regularly though haha
Hey guys I just ordered a brand new Enduro 690 R and I’m so excited for it! Got an amazing deal for 10500€s brand new including registering and tax! Thanks for everybody helping me with the decision making. Excited to be part of the KTM Family
