Every Open Eye - Anniversary 2025

Do you think they'll release a 10 year anniversary bundle for EOE like they did for the debut? Absolutely love this album, new vinyl/merch would be awesome. A decade old next September!

a little bit disappointed about the situation with 'VIP experience' for the upcoming LM/VC tour

I don't really know how to feel about this except disappointment at the moment, and I'm sure some of you will tell me that 'you don't have to pay it' etc (which you're obviously right about too)...

I was sure I'd read about CHVRCHES not doing Meet and Greet / VIP stuff, that they were against the very idea of them and had said so in interviews but all I can find now is [this comment from here a couple of years ago] (https://www.reddit.com/r/chvrches/comments/vwd5ha/comment/ifritp8/). If (big if, with a lack of supporting evidence) Lauren has gone back on that, I wonder why, and why tickets of £95 plus fees on only her second solo tour are seemed as reasonable for fans to pay.

It all just smells a bit off to me, milking fans for £££/$$$ for something like this. Yes, there's the time commitment from Lauren, a print and 'Exclusive VIP merch gift' but is any of it really necessary to add extra paywalls to fans? It's not exactly going to be an authentic experience, is it? You'll be stood there with all the others who've paid and all that.

I don't know, maybe I'm just too old and out of touch for this shit and who am I to say how people spend their money.

Going Glasgow ant Chvrches site seeing locations?

Just curious haha. Not expecting much but being from Liverpool there's tons of landmarks with musician history, Manchester too. With them being from Glasgow I was wondering if there was anywhere with significant Chvrches history?

Lauren’s singles off of Spotify?

Is this just a me issue? Shame, Change Shapes and Something in the Air are suddenly not available on Spotify for me

Lauren Tour VIP question

Do the VIP tickets give you access to the entire show or just the VIP part?

Lauren Tour VIP ticket question

Does the VIP ticket include access to the rest of the show or do you have to buy another ticket for that?

Lauren Mayberry tour VIP question

Dumb question and not sure if this is the best place to put this -

Is there any hints or reveals as to what the "exclusive VIP merch gift" is? I'm about to buy tickets and am musing over the VIP option, but I'm not going to be able to like bring something large back to my car for the concert, I'll be holding whatever merch I'm given or purchase for the show.

As cool as it could be, it would dampen the overall experience if I'm stuck holding like a vinyl or something the whole show, versus a unique shirt or something pocket-able. Never done one of these VIP things so no idea what the norm might be.

What's your favorite Martin-led track?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but maybe not since the BOWYB 10 year anniversary edition dropped. For me, ZVVL has always been my favorite, but then those Bones bonus tracks came out and instantly became 4 of my top 5 Martin tracks, which blew up my ability to choose a favorite. Still can't believe they kept those from us for a decade.

I'll probably go with Talking In My Sleep, but there's a degree of arbitrariness to that.

To jog your memory, I believe these are all the Martin-led tracks to be released in an official capacity. (Remind me if I've missed something.)

Recover EP:

  • ZVVL

BOWYB:

  • You Caught The Light
  • Under The Tide

Every Open Eye:

  • High Enough To Carry You Over
  • Follow You

Love is Dead:

  • God's Plan

Screen Violence:

  • Nothing, not even a bonus track :(

BOWYB 10 Year Anniversary:

  • Manhattan
  • White Summer
  • Talking In My Sleep
  • City On Fire
  • The Mother We Share (demo)

Tether helped me accept the end of a relationship

I used to always think the lyrics were “feel incapable,” but one day I noticed the lyrics were actually “feeling capable of seeing the end,” and I felt like I was finally capable of seeing the end. Just wanted to say thank you, CHVRCHES!

Disappointed “Under the Knife” won’t be on Vicious Creatures

Read somewhere it’s because it didn’t fit the vibe of the rest of the album? Bummed though bc it was my favorite song I heard when Lauren solo-toured. Hopefully it appears as a bonus track or potentially next Chvrches album??

Screen Violence Ranking - Results

Hi r/CHVRCHES!

It's time for the results of the Screen Violence: Director's Cut ranking.

This ranking is done using a points system, where the number 1 choice gets 13 points, down to the number 13 choice which gets only 1 point.

Here's the results from 87 votes:

Overall Ranking:

  1. Asking for a Friend - 862 points (Standard Deviation = 3.01)
  2. Final Girl - 782 points (Standard Deviation = 3.19)
  3. Violent Delights - 781 points (Standard Deviation = 3.00)
  4. How Not to Drown - 727 points (Standard Deviation = 3.50)
  5. California - 682 points (Standard Deviation = 3.53)
  6. Good Girls - 649 points (Standard Deviation = 3.58)
  7. Lullabies - 566 points (Standard Deviation = 3.39)
  8. He Said She Said - 548 points (Standard Deviation = 3.34)
  9. Screaming - 523 points (Standard Deviation = 3.76)
  10. Better If You Don't - 508 points (Standard Deviation = 3.54)
  11. Nightmares - 468 points (Standard Deviation = 2.85)
  12. Bitter End - 416 points (Standard Deviation = 3.89)
  13. Killer - 405 points (Standard Deviation = 3.19)

Most Agreed-upon Tracks

  1. Nightmares
  2. Violent Delights
  3. Asking for a Friend

Most Divisive Tracks

  1. Bitter End
  2. Screaming
  3. Good Girls

Interesting Statistics:

  • Nobody ranked Asking for a Friend in either of the bottom two spots.
  • Only one person ranked each of Violent Delights and Final Girl in the bottom spot.
  • Nobody ranked He Said She Said in the top spot.
  • Only one person ranked each of Nightmares and Killer in the top spot.
  • Killer may have ranked last, but Bitter End had the most last-place ranks, being placed last by 26 out of 87 people (more people than placed Asking for a Friend first, 24). However 17 people placed Bitter End in their top 4, compared to only 8 for Killer.
  • Only 3 people placed How Not to Drown fourth, despite 12 people ranking it third and 14 ranking it fifth.
  • Good Girls had between 3 and 11 votes for every position, and Lullabies had between 3 and 12 for every position.
  • Screaming was ranked second-last 18 times, the most of any position for any track besides first and last.
  • Out of 87 voters, nobody's ranking matched the final list. It may seem surprising, but consider that a random ranked selection of just three songs from the album has 1,716 possible outcomes!

Thank you all for participating!
