Specifically talking about the vibe on tranquility and the car. The crooning vocals, the atmosphere, the trippy elements, and the almost cinematic jazzy feel. So far, the only other artists I listen to that scratched that itch are Peter Cat Recording Co. I am also familiar with the last shadow puppets and I love their music as well, specifically my mistakes were made for you and the meeting place. What is this sound called? Any suggestions?
pretty bad angle and lighting, oopsies
This has nothing to do with the quality of the song btw. Mine is RLIDAS (Red light indicates doors are secure)
Was very excited for its release but thought it was unremarkable when it came out. Each listen of each individual song seems to improve it now. Im a little bit battered right now and have had one too many pints but, it’s such an unbelievably calming album and each song takes you to a different part of the weird taco-hotel infrastructure of the moon. Big big fan of whatever goes on in Alex Turner’s head
I am familiar with all of the bands top hits and the best songs on each album but what are the best overlooked songs?
Spooky found in Marouf Coffee Hong Kong
Am I the only one who would love to see a novel about tranquility base hotel and casino, or just a book in general from Alex Turner discussing his thinking process? From his music, and from interviews, it's probably the case he's fairly well read, and he his a big fan of old cinema. What do you think? What would you like to read about?
don't mind the wig, no clue what happened
🎃 Halloween 🎃
Listening to Humbug in general always gives me a Fall October vibe but The Jewller’s Hands (such an underrated song) always made me think on Halloween. What do you guys think?
I downloaded the BBC Sounds app to listen to the podcast. It appears only the 2 minute “trailer” is available with no other episodes showing. Did they remove the other episodes from their app? What am I missing here.
can someone please enlighten me to what these funky looking things are
"i had big ideas, the band was so excited..but now the orchestra's got us all surrounded and i cannot for the life of me remember how it goes" These lyrics in big ideas just made me realise what it's about in an interview Alex says "we was trying to make something hang with r u mine" (saying he wanted to make a rock n roll album) but he says later on "by the time we got that that, it felt like.. what was we on about?" "any direction we made to go into that felt as kind of a spoof"
i only just realised that big ideas is about that. or could be? what do you think?
a cigarette is a suitable enough AM-themed halloween costume
Mine are:
So... i wanna buy a guitar to do some covers for this 3 álbuns What is your recommendations?
Whether it’s arctic monkeys or last shadow puppets or just on his own, which cover of his is your favorite? It’s a toss up for me between Baby I’m yours, The lovers, Rihanna’s SOS, or Come together during the Olympics
EDIT: Also his cover of heat of the morning by David Bowie was a close runner up
Couldn’t find a close enough costume but my mam tried her best at the makeup
My favourite tame impala song no less
