Iphone IOS rant.
Anyone else seeing this? Iphone tethering your device with huge update? Almost half of the memory is occupied by the systems update. I had an Iphone 7 that got locked out recently, because guess what? The password suddenly changed after I updated the system software. I had an Iphone in 2010, and it just died out of nowhere. I’m flustered with this at this point, and I was going to get the Iphone 16, but I guess will not be buying iPhone after I transferred all my data.
Anyone have a similar situation?
Fuck that shit. I’m trying to look through a video and fucking can’t. Fuck this shit I’m so angry rn.
This is weird….an apple memory has a title like this.
Something with hdr and apple replaced the display of my one month old 15 having no hardware issues after diagnosing. This only goes away when low power mode is turned on as it shuts down hdr
Anybody else experiencing terrible connectivity and slow processing since update last week.
I'm using my work Android until Apple gets it's act together.
Just like many people caught in Apple's marketing lies, I too believed they made the best laptops and bought the M3 MacBook Air 8 GB version. It was a complete mistake. I’m never buying Apple products again and have now learned a lesson in marketing: it’s all lies—you can only trust yourself.
The main reason I bought the MacBook Air M3 was the battery life, but it was not up to my expectations. If you’re watching YouTube in 720p, expect the laptop to last about 6 hours. One thing I didn’t give much thought to was software compatibility. There was software I tried to run, but it wasn’t compatible.
Buy this laptop if the only thing you’re going to use it for is web browsing, but at that price point, you can get a gaming laptop with an RTX 4050, which is so much better for practical use cases. To anyone buying Apple products: don’t fall for their bullshit marketing; make your own informed decisions. If you’re buying an Apple product, don’t expect performance.
I just got an SE 2nd gen (2020) for $65 brand new, and got latest iOS and plan on using this as my daily driver. Knowing apple however this phone may not get iOS 19. How long do I have left until I'll not be able to use this phone for password manager, Apple Pay, mobile banking, and WhatsApp??
So I sent my phone in for repair under warranty which was returned repaired but now with another fault. Took it to the Apple Store where they sent it off again and the phone got lost in transit. Can’t seem to get anywhere with Apple support after calling numerous times. It’s almost like they don’t know what’s going one. Anyone know what I can do?
PS (but before): Guys, this is not about installing MacOS (though it was a pain for no reason), this is about arm64/x86, Xcode and so on. I HAVE Monterey installed already, it doesn't take a genius to go that far...
I'm a Developer, I regularly work with both Windows and Linux. Both with their quirks, but usually the system doesn't get in the way much and I get to do what I want to do just fine. Even updates, the meme of Windows, aren't a problem in Windows 11, or at least not one I had to deal with.
Recently I've been working on an application that will run on Web, Windows, Linux and MacOS.
Now here's the thing, I do own a MacBook, a MacBook Pro Early 2015 in fact, on which I had installed Linux.
Today I decided to ruin my day by installing MacOS, and this is the story (starts at 22:00)
I reboot using Cmd+R, I am greeted by the Network Recovery, it asks for the WiFi password and it starts downloading MacOS El Capitan.
First issue, it doesn't work; Apple, with the most useful message they could have possible have come up with, states that "No packages are eligible to install, seek help from the software manufacturer"... just tell me to call an Apple store?
Anyway, the issue is that it's trying to download an OS from 2015 protected from certificates from 2015, which are expired. Therefore, in this specific order, you need to open the terminal, connect to another WiFi that doesn't work, then disable WiFi (because it will be re-enabled) change the time through the `date` command to 2015, reboot. Great, it worked, after 30 minutes I have MacOS El Capitan.
Needless to say half of it doesn't work, GUI Icons missing, browser are completely broken and all that, but fear not, there is an update. 30 Minutes downloading, 30 minutes installing, how this is possible is beyond me since I have a 1 Gbps FTTH connection and the speedtest on that very same laptop gave 500 Mbps downlink, but sure.
Now I have Monterey, cool. I install Flutter (the development framework I need) and... it doesn't work.
Reason? It needs Xcode, but Xcode can't be installed on my Mac because MacOS is too old, so I need to download an older version from the Apple Archives whatever website, which works.
However, in order to work I need to login with my old Apple Developer account, but to do that I need an Apple device for the OTP (I hadn't log in in my Mac), so I do that, password reset, login, and I downloaded the 7.6 GB package. I click on it and after 30 minutes of honestly I don't know what, it installs.
Awesome! It breaks again, now the issue is some other Ruby dependency, so I look up how to install it and... it breaks again, this time it's because the system Ruby, provided by Apple, by default, installs packages for ARM... on an x86_64 device, therefore, during compilation, obviously, it breaks, because the architecture is wrong.
So I found out that I need to install another Ruby... and somehow I get sent to a website that asks me 200$ for it? So I ignore it and install brew, then I install Ruby, but brew is literally compiling everything which is taking forever on this shitty dual core 2.7 GHz desperation of a laptop.
I, for the life of me, cannot understand how I lived with this trash before, I also don't understand how people say it's "solid" and "it just works". It's slow, almost unusable, always hot, and to do something that in Windows took me 5 minutes (Installing Flutter) I have wasted over 6 hours, since this started at 22:00 and it's now 5 minutes until 2:00.
Fuck this shit.
PS: For all those who don't get it, I had those very same tools installed 4 or 5 years ago before I installed Linux on it. They worked. These same tools can't be installed now due to how Apple purposefully made it more difficult to install old or even just x86 software.
It's not about anything new or modern.
No doubt the ecosystem got me, I do like my iphone, airpods, and watch but.. I often look at my MBA and ipad pro embarrassed for spending so much on it, personally I believe if it wasn't for proprietary applications like FinalCut Pro macOS isn't a good work station compared to the customizations and tweaks that can be provided on Linux.
My phone updated last night and holy shit is iOS absolutely terrible, particularly the photos app. What idiot designed this? It’s a sensory nightmare with too much shit going on and I had to Google how to find my photo albums. Anyone figure out a way to clean it up?
Will randomly wake you up periodically throughout the week. And yes my settings are correct and have been for almost 2 years and does work correctly 75% of the time but I’m sick of being woke up at all hours randomly thoughout the week. It’s been happening more frequently every week.
Out of the box perfect experience
every time i try to open one of my really long locked notes on my ipad it doesn’t OPEN because of the new update! what can i do? those are my diaries. years and years of writing. i can’t just lose them like this.
i just got my 3rd ipad in a row with the same screen/image distortion issue. all covered with applecare, but cmon... is this even possible?
they dont know what to do anymore, since "there isnt a known batch nor model issue"
As the title says my iPhone 12 mini recently updated to ios 18 and ever since then it has been absolutely horrible, every single possible thing that can lag, does. It’s at the point where it’s almost unusable. Why do they make it so difficult to downgrade to an older ios version????? i really cannot afford one of the new iphones. Apple, you suck.
Why can't people have the option to keep movies downloaded on their media box (Apple TV) in case the internet is down? The people who argue against this idea are the same ones who will say "finally!"
The latest is that it keeps asking me to "renew subscription", I try to renew and it already has it. Eventually I get to a "payment declined" message. My bank shows that Apple was paid this week, the Apple site shows they were paid this week, and all the while I have to keep entering new codes on their stupid 2-factor authentication crap. And no way to get a human to address the situation of course.
Very unprofessional of Apple
I think anyone can see by the latest posts that there is some brigading going on. As that is against reddit policy it should be looked into to find out if these people come from one subreddit as whole subreddits can be deleted for brigading.
new netflix doc 'buy now' namedrops and exposes apple for their disgusting business model of selling expensive devices that are designed to last no longer than 2-3 years so that consumers have to buy them again and again and again
I bought the iphone 16 specifically because they pushed their ai and after it was delivered a month late, it sucks. I couldn’t even get it to removed a person from a photo.
Hi !!
I wish I found a phone that could replaces my Iphone 13 mini. I want a phone with a nice battery life (I mean, I want to watch video on youtube at lunch and still have 20% of battery coming back home), I want a small phone that fits in pockets and a very great photos/videos quality.
Does there is any options available in android ?
