First of all, I use Apple product everywhere. I don’t endorse some of their decisions but I find their products best suited to me. Yes, I’ve tried alternatives. No, they don’t work for me. But this isn’t about me.

Quite frankly, I feel like this sub complains too much. Apple and Other Phone Manufacturers - let’s use Samsung since it’s most relevant in this example - are for different people and serve different purposes. Apple is a company suited towards people with the amount of money to spend with them, people who want a user friendly, easy-to-use phone that is almost guaranteed to work for them. Samsung, on the other hand, can seem like it’s appealing to people with a higher knowledge of phones and who have researched them. As we know, android phones are more prone to viruses, and can go wrong more easily in my experience.

The thought of android can be intimidating to some people. Considering Apple iPhones flagship isn’t all that different in price from Samsungs flagships, people might not want to risk trying out both new software and hardware that they aren’t sure will work for them. Personally, I think the environment you grow around will be a large factor in this. For example, if your first phone was a Samsung and your family used Samsung, you’re most likely to continue using that since you trust it and its reliability.

However as I’ve said, Apple phones work for most people and people don’t like change. You can keep criticising apples design choices, but people aren’t going to stop buying from them. You can keep criticising apples prices, but you aren’t going to compare them to anything cheaper for the same experience. You can keep criticising apples business model, but you only see the positives in other phone manufacturers.

I have been on the phone with Mint Mobile for hours. We've reset network settings installed a new APN, did all kinds of crap trying on and off wifi, rebooting, popping out the sim. Basically everything. We're not blocking each other.

My phone (iphone SE 3rd) can send and receive SMS from and to everyone EXCEPT my boyfriend. It worked fine until he was trying to send me text messages a few days ago and he was unable to send SMS to me. (Now it works for him and my phone is the one that seems messed up).

Mint Mobile told me I need to call Apple, which seems ridiculous.

They fit like oversized wine corks made for ears that aren’t like mine. I guess Apple tried the prototype on a bunch of Apple bro employees and thought mission accomplished? The whole concept of AirPods is so painfully dumb. When everyone was content with the old EarPods that plugged into the phone, and so many cheaper great options were available - can’t have that!! Apple needed to create the most dumb obvious cash grab I have seen in decades. You need a special special cord to charge them, they can only charge in their case, oooooo special special special crap. Easily lost to bring in the $$$$$$ to Apple. Hard for others to replicate so all that fat $$$$$$$ goes to Apple. These frickin things pushing against my ears giving me low key headaches. I hate Apple.

I recently purchased new iphone 16 pro and i am facing battery problem, look at my battery stats i have charged my phone yesterday and today at 3:42pm only 17% battery is remaining with only 2 hours screen on time, is it normal? Can someone tell me what is the problem?

Was an avid android user before this my one plus was way lighter and my boat headphones were super light too upgraded to apple with extremely costly products but my joint health worsened due to the heavier weight of both the phone and headphones, these greedy coropos don't give a damn about us man :(

If you want to bump the specs to 32Gb RAM and 1Tb SSD, with Apple its another £800.

Same spec upgrades on the NUC are another £210. (Remember Applefans, just like Samsung is not the only alternative to iPhones, this is not the only alternative to the Mini. Its called choice).

Yes for context I had my iPhone 16 in ultramarine blue color since it came out last month of September however I have been using it since September but for the past several days I’ve been feeling regret getting it due to no Apple intelligence sadly though so yeah now at this point I’m completely done using the iPhone 16 because of the stupid camera button and the action button as well so now I decided to like switch ESIM from my iPhone 16 to iPhone 14 Pro Max! And so now I feel so much better using it! Except that I will be using the USB C type lighting cable again but hey I’m fine with it! I just wanted to share this on here!!!

Been having issues with find my device with the new airpods 4, and it doesnt help that apple’s support in sweden have gone down drastically. I’ve been spending 2 days with some ”Senior enginnering” asking me to record the troubleshooting.

They had me delete my nordvpn Reset my position and network settings Delete all bluetooth devices Resetting the airpods 4 times and repairing it.

I asked the so called ”Apple senior” if this isnt to much hassle for a pair of airpods that are 2 weeks old, like when i had problems with my iPhone they would just give me a refurbished one and take my old one in for repair. He said if all the troubleshooting doesnt work they gonna take in the airpods for repair and im not gonna be with them until they solved it.

I even mentioned to him that multiple users are having the same issue on reddit and apple forums. I litterally upgraded from airpods 3 to 4 because they have speakers that are convenient for find my device.

Anyone got similar issue?

I realize I may not fully understand this so please be kind. I got iCloud + years ago because I had very little storage on my phone. I then bought a new phone later on that has 256 GB of storage but my photos are still in iCloud. I want to put all my photos into my iPhone storage and cancel iCloud + because I don’t need it. I cannot figure out how to put my photos onto my phones storage. I’ve been trying to figure it out for hours but I can’t. I’ve logged into iCloud.com and tried on there but it will only download the photos to iCloud downloads. I’ve tried doing it in settings but it won’t let me. I only have 38.1 GB of iCloud being used and I have 177.28 GB of storage left on my phone so I know I have room for my photos. Is there a way to put my photos onto my phone storage instead of iCloud storage? I do NOT have Optimized Photos enabled. So I don’t know why my photos are in iCloud at all. Can anyone help me or explain what is going on? If needed I will just cancel iCloud+ and loose the photos but I’d rather not loose them. It’s only a years worth of photos anyway so I’ll accept it if I have to. I have an iPhone SE bought a year ago

My girlfriend needed a laptop for writing papers for school, so I decided to make a surprise and get/build her a MacBook Air as a gift. I really like macOS on my MBP 2022 14" for things like that and know that cheaper Windows laptops are trash in every regard, so I didn't even think about it.

I love tinkering around with tech and fixing things by myself, so I looked up my local marketplace website and found some good deals on partially defective MacBook Airs (2018) with an i5-8210Y. As my girlfriend only needs it occasionally for using Word or browsing, I assumed this would be more than enough, as it was still officially supported at that time (despite its age).

I ended up buying two defective ones for 2x 120€ and made one working MacBook in almost perfect condition out of them. Sold the broken one for 80€, so a pretty good deal I think. I read that these models have a fan, but lack a proper cooling system. To make it as perfect as possible, I did a cooling mod I saw online using a copper shim, thermal pads, and new paste and finally gave it to her.

For me as a "power user" coming from an M2 Pro and a PC with a 12th Gen i7, I was shocked to find the MacBook almost struggling at basic tasks. Everything is rather slow (for me), Mission Control is stuttering half of the time, and navigating through the settings takes ages. Connecting an external monitor makes it feel like using a 20-year-old Pentium laptop.

For my girlfriend, it's fine ig, but this laptop has an MSRP of 1349€. I can't imagine that it ran a lot better when it released and people did actual work on these things, despite light surfing and watching YouTube. Even playing Minecraft is too much for this calculator CPU/GPU. Even when using performance mods like Sodium and Lithium, you get around 35-45fps on low settings, as it thermal throttles immediately.

Some might say that it's an older laptop with a low-end CPU..., and yes, that's absolutely true. I just can't understand how this thing was 1349€ or more when it came out. I played Minecraft on some trash laptops 10 years ago without any problems.

Everything else like trackpad, screen, build quality is obviously on point.

I know that if you disable Bluetooth from control center it comes back on after 24 hours or so but in my case it appears that disable it from settings is even making it come back after a day or two which is crazy. So freaking annoying. So that means there's no way to actually turn off Bluetooth permanently. I'm wondering if a restart or maybe a software update caused it to turn back on. It's just annoying because I'll be in my car listening to something on my Galaxy and then all of a sudden my iPhone will start playing a random podcast out of nowhere and it takes me 5 minutes to figure out where the audio is coming from LOL.
