If you posses a lot of hate towards Macintosh and overall Apple, this is the place to express yourself.
Apple is a phone company now.

So what killed the Mac?
Does Apple know all this? Yes.

My MacBook thinks I’m not the administrator! I’ve never had anyone else use it cuz I don’t have friends :/ but I’m seriously pissed that this piece of titanium shares my data and then tells me I’m not its admin. I think someone much smarter than I has accessed my computer and changed a bunch of things- I am literate after all and understand the broad strokes of my file system.
Can anyone please please lmk if I can identify the loser who is accessing my computer so I can send it to them first class?

I am thinking about doing NVMe ssd upgrade for my iMac 2015 27in, and I hear is there a sleep/wake issue with the NVMe ssd because of older firmware, and upgrade your iMac 2015 to Mac OS Big sur would fix sleep/wake issue with any NVMe ssd, is that true?
I’m fine with genuine criticism, such as Mac not supporting a lot of apps or games, but just browsing this sub I keep seeing posts where people use a mac for like a week and then return it and complain about stuff like the keys doing or not doing certain things or the windows not zipping to the side which are things that are easily fixable if you just do a quick Google search. Please do your research, guys.

Ever been working in one app, and have another app constantly interrupt you by popping itself into the foreground?
One of the supposedly fundamental principles of the Mac desktop is that the user, not the computer, is supposed to be in charge.
This principle regularly gets tossed out the window when an app that you aren't even currently using thrusts itself into the foreground and starts capturing your input. Whatever you were working on is instantly disrupted because the computer decided that some app was more important than whatever it was you were doing.
Besides the obvious PITA factor it's also a security hole, because somehow there is a statistically likely chance that this will happen when you're typing in a password into a web form and instead a chat or email window will pop over and capture your password instead. Ooops you just inserted your Tinder password into an email to your boss without realizing it.
I am a Mac user and prefer it to other options for various reasons but the inability of MacOS engineers to admit mistakes and learn from others has been the platform's undoing since inception.
Customer service at Best Buy, “Why are you returning it?”
Me, “It sucks.”
Reality, I found that it really kills productivity that you cannot “snap” the windows to the side to automatically resize windows. All the extra money I spent on it could have been spent on a more powerful PC.
I was pretty disillusioned after buying a Dell all in one that was slow as a turtle. But this—and the stupid tiny keyboard they include—was worse.
Good Day Mr. Cook: I’ve written to you before and I’m writing to you again because I see no other alternative to the fact that your subordinates are not helping me with a now continuous 3-year issue that befell me since shortly after the purchase of your Desktop iMac. This unit cost me over $$2800!
I’m a Senior on a fixed income. My goal, besides using this iMac to make a living in audio production, was to reduce clutter and paper with this tool. This has not, and isn’t working out. This is NOT a joke.
I’ve had upwards of 17 different senior advisors and case numbers for the last 3 years since the purchase. Your company often brags about keeping good records, so peruse them, but make a cup of coffee first, because you’ll be reading for awhile.
As of my last trip to the Boca Raton Apple Store, at the advice of Apple’s Tech Support, as the unit had recently crashed again, their Mgr, [Doug Koger], told me that this issue was “…above their capabilities…and...keep working with the engineers…”
This iMac has had TWO Hard Drive replacements, a new Mother Board, plus a Hard Drive cable replaced and other issues since purchase. Obviously this destroyed a multitude [TERABYTES] of personal files, projects, and other documents when it crashed, which has been a LOT of the time.
Following the Store Mgr’s advice, I’ve written to Doug about stepping in to get them [your engineers] back in contact with me, because your Customer Support Staff [those engineers] aren’t returning communication. He’s still not addressed nor acknowledged my email from weeks ago, requesting assistance in getting someone from Customer Support to get back in touch with me, which is why I’m writing to you today.
I’VE BEEN ABANDONED.
I was sold the promise of equipment and customer support that would fit my working needs. This iMac and its software I was told to purchase by your Apple Team @ the Boca Raton Store, does not. I feel completely misled by Apple, a company that prides itself on its image. I’ve spent a LOT of money with your company and have very little to show for it, except receipts, frustration, and the feeling of being ripped off by an organization that treasures itself on its’ accomplishments.
What I need is an iMac machine with sufficient software, [the right R.A.M./Core/Graphics, etc. re:processing & memory] that can find the remaining 7,500 iTunes files, [down now after toiling on this task nearly daily for the last 3 years, from over 88,000 missing files that this machine scattered]. Having this escalated to someone that’s knowledgeable in Cupertino might also help me recover some of my losses.
At great expense to me financially, physically, and spiritually, I was initially sold the wrong gear by your Apple Team, whom I‘d trusted.
My last vocation was Broadcasting and Audio Production that has been on hold since this issue arose.
When you click on the [above] player, there is a tightly scoped hour [including every transition] of what my work on the air sounded like back in 2018 on RadioSeagull by me using your Garage Band app. If I was applying for another position in Broadcasting, this would qualify as a resumé tape. I can’t because I‘m still trying to recover files and the Garage Band app. My projects are no where to be found as of this writing.
This programme was accomplished on my [now old] 2011 MacBookPro prior to purchasing this iMac recently, which subsequently destroyed/lost tens of thousands of my documents and terabytes of Garage Band files.
Apple hasn’t cared enough to make good on it by ignoring me and presumably hoping I’d just go away?
Hence, I can’t complain about Apple’s Customer Service practices, because, apparently, there isn’t any for me, as evidenced by the fact that they don’t rsvp to my Emails even with me sending them the proper case #, nor do they call back. And, as of this writing, I’ve not been getting any response from this Sr.Advisor to continue trying to fix this problem. The last case # 101074528026
Can you please step in and assist?

Macs used to be Fine computers for a niche market, now they are the worst computers ever. They suck. But iSheep and people who dont know fuck about computers buy them, Like everyone around me. Even some people who now stuff about tech buy them, iSheep
When I was about 9 or 10 I got an iPod touch. I didn't even ask for it, but I was kinda surprised and impressed that my parents got that for me. Fast-forward to the end of 2014. I was 12, making that iPod 2-3 years old. And already some apps weren't able to update due to my iPod being unable to update to iOS 7, because it was not the right generation iPod or something. And that sucked, so I wanted an iPad. Furthermore, some apps would just crash on startup and my home button became unresponsive. One of the apps that crashed all the time was Terraria. But I had access to the crash logs and realised there was a low memory error. A restart made Terraria work again. But it joined the ranks of apps I was no longer able to update due to not having iOS 7 or later. Also the battery life has pretty much been reduced to ten minutes. The ultimate icing on the shitcake was that I ended up downloading heaps of free-to-play titles that just reeked of play to win, a problem that would also haunt the games I played on my iPad...
Well I got the iPad in the Christmas of 2014 and I had lots of fun with it... until one app that I was using, Hotel Hideaway, was no longer able to update. And apps started being all slow and crashy again, including Minecraft and Terraria. But now I was unable to view any of the crash logs to find out what could possibly be wrong with my games. I suspected low memory problems but restarting didn't help. A RAM-checking applicaion I found on Safari revealed that my iPad had a whopping 512 MB of RAM.
For contrast, my 2010 eMachines eME728 had 2GB of RAM (probably due to being a COMPUTER) which could actually be upgraded to 8 GB, probably even more, if they had > 4 GB RAM sticks compatiable with it. And while my eMachines got pretty slow at times program crashes were actually pretty rare (and it got better after a RAM upgrade). My DS Lite was also the next most unstable device I had out of the lot, and even then the game crashing (which caused the whole DS to crash because it didn't have a way to return to the home menu without rebooting) was occasional. And I'd say it was because I was pretty rough with it as a kid. Like seriously, back then I would slap my computer on the back of the screen when it acted up (which lead to a broken screen and a heap of chores to raise money for a replacement, which I still have today). Eventually the cats killed it.
My eMachines also had a rather convenient panel on the bottom that I could unscrew which exposed the hard drive, RAM and CPU so I could just upgrade or clean them at will. I could take the back panel of both my DS Lite and 3DS to replace the battery. I could even rip the back panel off my older phones to replace the batteries without having unscrew anything. But neither my iPod or my iPad would dare open themselves up so I could replace the batteries. What I got was what I fucking got. And when it no longer worked, tough fucking luck get a new one. Except they were more expensive than my gaming computer.
I've given up on Apple products. My Nintendo Switch has Minecraft and Junk Jack X (games that I had on my iPod and iPad) and my laptop has Terraria. Looking back, I really wish my parents used the money they spent on all this iShit and got me a 3DS instead. And maybe some games for it as well. Because honestly the 3DS and its games may have been out of place with all my classmates in Years 5-6 on their iPods and iPads with Make it Rain and Geometry Dash but at least I would have proper games without all the shitty microtransactions and in-app purchases.
Also I could use the eShop and Steam gift cards to buy DLC without having to enter my credit card details. Yeah, just take the money I have in my App Store account from all those iTunes cards! That's literally all you need!
To hell with your iShit, Apple. To hell with your shitty iPods and iPads that don't even last a few fucking years. To hell with your unstable applications that crash every other fucking minute. To hell with your specs that age like a fucking banana turning brown that can't even be upgraded.
To hell with you, crApple.

Before Mac OS X was a thing, BOMB SCREENS were. These nasty fuckers appeared not only when a system error occurred, but when a PROGRAM error occurred, kinda like the way the BSOD behaved in Windows 3x and 9x, right?
Except whenever the BSOD appeared for minor reasons in Windows 3x and 9x (such as pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete in Windows 3x without any unresponsive programs running) you were always able to press any key to return to Windows. With macs, however, you'd nearly always have to restart the whole thing. And this was the case even with something so simple as a divide by zero error. Why? Because not only is there less RAM than my Windows 1.0 VM but the memory protection is shit, if it's even there at all. This is most certainly the case with my Mini vMac that runs Macintosh System 7.5.5 (using a Ready-to-go package) Even applications that appear to have come with the OS cause a "divide by zero" error. Just, why would you release an OS with that vunerability? What were they thinking?
Hey all,
I work on a podcast I think some of you might enjoy. It's called "Tech Talk" and it's an improvised comedy podcast about two Tech Dads who love Apple, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and all things tech. Also, their lives are falling apart, their families hate them, and they fail at everything.
Because the show is improvised, the world of the show builds week by week, and we recommend starting at the beginning (and the beginning episodes are all short), but our just-released 40th episode also outlines everything that has happened in the show so far and is a good summary.
If you'd like to check it out, you this link will direct to a list of podcast app options including but not limited to the terrible Apple Podcasts app. We also have a Patreon here.
Cheers and enjoy!
Fuck macintrash. Fuck the end to end control. Good hardware sucks if it can't come without greedy software and a greedy business model. I want to destroy mine with fire.

The only good is its UI is prettier than that of Windows. That is for sure.
Overall, I don't understand what kind of retards invented this OS.
This stupidity is unbelievable.

you realized you were a snobby lil dik ass cunt who used mac and wanna go BACK to pc. so how do you do it? well its easy. if you wanna game get a desktop! not one bestbuy hp lenovo or alienware shit gaming pcs. order parts and pay someone to build or build one yoyr fucking self. dont wanna game? wanna browze the internet? wanna check the news? well.... USE YOUR FUCKING PHONE!!!!! if you want a pc still for other stuff besides anything related to a gpu, then get a laptop. but if youre retarded and a shit esting pussy hating fucking faggoty cunt then keep your mac. bc you can use something you deserve as a punishment.
Especially because the enemy’s products suck!
Macs are literal hunks of overpriced trash. I think the biggest problem with macs is poor choicement in parts. A lot of macs are like 1700$ but dont even have an rtx 2070. I really just hate macs and it is way smarter to do your research and build a solid PC for half the price that will run just as well with better optimizability and Waaay better looks. I just think the idea of having to pay 2x the price for a crappy looking overpriced monitor looking shit show is a stupid ass idea made by a greedy dude in his basement looking to make money off of idiots who go to the front page of amazon and buy the first overpriced shit show of a computer and waste their money. If you buy a mac you are stupid.
