I’m trying to choose a stats elective for winter. Should I take Stats 133 w/ Almohalwas, Stats c155 w/ Cochran or Stats c173 w/ Christou? I need an easy elective, because I already have a heavy workload for winter.

Be honest, please. If you feel like not having one in a city like LA is a hindrance, I feel like that's understandable. There's a lot to do in LA for those of us who aren't too busy with engineering school (I am). Being a guy, I would personally rather have one for dating, as public transportation around here has a certain, uh, non-romantic aesthetic to it. But, I wouldn't be against using busses and Ubers to get around. Just want some opinions on it.

For context, me (21F) and him (21M) are in the same university club, and agreed to have a secret, casual thing (no sex, like making out and more). I understand that it’s non committal etc, but recently my friend in the same club told me that he tried to hit on her. She knows about us, but he does not know that she knows, and told her that there was nothing going on between me and him. I get that part, since we agreed to be secret, but would it be haughty of me to tell him I can’t handle him flirting with ppl in the same club (especially our mutual friends)? It’s less out of jealousy/having feelings or anything since I would get him flirting with other girls in general, but him flirting with my friends or just ppl we know and hang out with mutually feels a bit gross and a recipe for a mess. I feel like I see a lot of people fight over whose major is harder or who has more depression and midterms. As soon as a stem major sees you posting about 1 midterm they start telling you their life story and how they are on the verge of suicide like it’s something to brag about. If you tell me you have 6 midterms im laughing at you and going back to actually sleeping.

I wanted to pursue Electrical Engineering (MS) at UCLA. My GPA is only 2.8 but I have done 4 IEEE papers and 1 Indian patent. I also took my English proficiency test and got an overall 7 in IELTS. Am I eligible for UCLA with this profile?🥺or should i take my GRE too

To make a long story short I've had a clear perfect record all my life but I suspect charges were filed this year per a false allegation. There is no warrant but might have been an unserved criminal summons. I don't want to deal with a possible case now in another state but do want to attend ucla graduate school. I notice on the app there were no inquiries pertaining to criminal history - as is my understanding many California grad schools don't inquire. Still, does ucla graduate school for liberal arts students, have to run background checks for safety reasons and if did some police check and heard of unserved summons in another state would deny me admission?

hi everyone, I have just accepted that I have a crush on this girl who is probably the sweetest and kindest person on this planet 🫣 when im with her i get nervous but at the same time i feel really comfortable around her which sounds conflicting but it just feels right. i really love bantering and messing with her 😭 I've known her for a bit under a year now and originally I didn't look at her romantically, but we recently started regularly meeting outside of club and doing stuff together which made me realize how much she means to me.

problem is I'm unsure if she likes me back romantically, and that we are executives in the same club board... if I get rejected I fear that it would get awkward and might ruin the rest of the school year (were both graduating this school year)...

we did meet up a few times till the AMs so i feel like there's a good vibe between us but at the same time I'm unsure about it all. she doesn't really reach out often, but she is EXTREMELY busy. she works part time, has some obligations outside of work and school, has a directing role in smth outside of our club, and crazy courseload so it makes sense she doesn't text thst often but that might be coping from my end (side note tho omg I love how ambitious and hard working she is waaaHHHH 😭🫣). she did say that she purposely doesn't go on her phone during the day so she doesn't get distracted, especially during midterm season. I feel like it's a positive thing on my end that she still makes time to hang out once or twice a week outside of our club activities with me and sonetimes our friends despite her insanely busy schedule. we made plans to do smth like 1h15m away one way and hanging out for the day later this week so like :D ?!?

if anyone can share their own experiences or give advice that would be great. do I have a chance? is it worth doing so? ATM even tho I realized I have a crush on her i'm lowkey content with how things are, though thst might change in the future, and I don't want any lingering regrets.
