Is there a chance of getting in off the waitlist 😭 My pass time is on Tuesday and there are already 17 people on the waitlist 😔 The other section with Guercio seems to be almost filled too...
Hey! I'm planning to take STA 130A next quarter and wanted to get some insights on Professor Le. His recent RMP reviews are mostly positive, but I've heard mixed opinions from a few people. I'd love to hear more about him and any tips to do well in the class. Tysm!!
Howdy folks,
Anybody interested in going to a prerelease tournament tomorrow? If you've never tried, they're pretty fun.
There's one at Davis Cards and Games (3pm) and another at Alpaca Games (1pm).
Was hoping to meetup with somebody else from UC and go together.
I'm a SAFS major, male, been playing a while. Love sealed tournies!!
hi guys, to sum it up i tagged UC Davis cause i really wanna go here. i’m from socal so norcal is 8 hours away from me. so im coming here with 0 friends. i need to know are people here easy to make friends with, nice, etc. i’m a social butterfly and yeah. let me know i’m stressed 💔
The website info is not very clear, it mentions that majority of funding comes from being a TA at 50%.
I found this link: https://grad.ucdavis.edu/understanding-your-student-salary
Based on it, should I expect to make $34k, before taxes? Do I have to pay tuition out of pocket, or does being a TA for 50% get us a tuition remission (even if im an international student)?
Also how hard it is to get fellowships as an international student. The funding info is so confusing, would appreciate some clarification. I really wanted to know what I'm getting into. I hope I don't have to get a loan.
Prof would be S. Hamilton. Is it hard? easy? time consuming? interesting? boring? waste of time? worth it?
I had an unfortunate experience of being one class with a student that spent the entire course of Phys9A just sucking up his snot for the entire duration while sitting on the bottom right corner of the class. Please STAY HOME I DO NOT WANT TO BE SICK TOO.
Hey everyone! I bought Ice cream from company Salt & Straw that have weird flavors for my coworkers to try. The flavors:
**As you can imagine I have a lot left as nobody wants more than a small spoon. I IF you dare to try it stop by (7pm-11pm) tonight, Saturday or Sunday for a spoon of whatever flavor you want to try for free! Ask for “otters special rock 🦦”I’ll know it’s you!
If your gonna buy a drink we are running a 20% discount for students so bring your ID, otherwise you can chill and vibe with us. Let us know if you have any song requests, I can put it on if it isn’t too crazy.
Thanksssssss
We walk the arboretum almost daily with our dog Jojo, a ball freak. Tim, one of the friendly groundskeepers offered her a tennis ball one time. Now on our walks, Jojo obsessively scouts around to find Tim to score another ball. He keeps extra balls just for Jojo. The Arboretum is the perfect place to relax and walk or sit and listen to the birds and experience the changing seasons. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful slice of nature at the campus. Thanks Tim and all who work so hard to maintain the grounds there.
Currently #4 on the waitlist for UWP 102B biology writing course. Should I look at other options or should I stick it out?
Pass time is today for me and I realized one of the desired classes I need to take this quarter is bis 103 which already has 25 people on the waitlist. Honestly, what are my chances of getting in the class? Should I look for other classes?
Hi. I am #20 on the waitlist for Bis 103 with Fiehn. What are my chances of getting in? Also does anyone know the total number of students that make up this course? That would be helpful to know my chances. Thanks.

Did anyone have NPB 110B with these two professors? I couldn’t find any reviews for X. Chen, but the ones for M. Sutter do not look great. What was your experience like? Any advice on getting an A?
Thank you!
Hi all.
Does anyone have any experience with transferring into CS in CoE if your above the 135 unit limit? Lets say 160-170 units? Having completed all prereqs with all As (36A-C, 20, 50). How would a well written/reasoned appeal fare? Or is it just an auto deny.
Im not enjoying what Im studying and really hoping its not to late to do the thing that Ive always enjoyed and done well at, due to poor decision making.
Thanks!
The giedt hall women’s bathroom smells like vomit and garbage, and I went in to go to the bathroom and almost threw up multiple times. It smells so fucking bad. I don’t know how the men’s bathroom is. Does anyone know why it stinks so bad, or if they’re gonna fix it??? Please I want to pee without gagging and holding back vomit
I genuinely don’t know what to study as my major. I wanted to study engineering but I failed 21a over summer and I’m worried I’ll fail again this quarter. I don’t know what to do as I’ve been struggling with a lot of personal things since the beginning of summer and it’s really taken a toll on my mental health. Not knowing what I want to study also adds onto it as it makes me feel like I’m wasting time. I don’t have the energy to do stuff for school and I really want to get back into being more academic like I was last year. i cant help but feel so disappointed in myself.
Please mask up at the very least. It's really not that hard, and no it's not stupid. If you don't have a mask, you can ask for one at the SCC or MU. I understand if you need to blow nose or sniffle too, but I cannot count the amount of times I have seen people cough or sneeze without a mask on campus (in lecture and out of lecture). There are no excuses for being this irresponsible and spreading your sickness around. No one wants to be sick while taking an important test or learning important material, so please be considerate and have human decency.
I want to take a couple ECS electives next quarter, and was just looking for advice from anyone’s who taken any of the following classes: ECS 122B, 127, 154A, 164, 165A, and 170. Ideally nothing crazy difficult or time consuming, as I’m also starting an internship next quarter and am already planning to take ECS 150 lol so let me know if i should stay away from any of these Unfortunately can’t turn to ratemyprofessor for guidance since they never post profs ahead of time:/
I came to Davis at September 2023, and since the day I arrived, my eyes have been extremely uncomfortable. They are very red, and I experience significant pain, especially after biking against the wind. The doctor said I have dry eye syndrome and allergies, but even after using allergy eye drops, the symptoms haven't disappeared. These symptoms occur when I'm not wearing lenses, but when I wear the scleral lenses prescribed by my doctor, the pain worsens and my eyes become extremely red. Does anyone else have similar symptoms?
Please just ues a fucking tissue. Nobody wants you hear you violently suck up your snot every two minutes for an hour and a half. Everyone is too nice to say it but it's soo gross. Same thing to that guy in his 119. if i offer you a tissue, take the hint.
Hey I am transferring from a CC, I can’t find it but I remember you could see equivalent courses for Computer science courses. I can’t find the PDF, I tried searching but was unable to find it. Can anyone help me? I just wanted to know what classes I can take while in CC that’ll open more ECS classes.
