In chapter 62 Kaladin has a prayer tied to his arm. Three glyphs. "A prayer to Jezerezeh—the Stormfather—to protect loved ones and friends.”
Jezerezeh is Jezrien, correct? Not the stormfather. Is there an explanation for the way this is described? Just noticed during a reread and was confused.
I want to start listening to the entire series. And would like something similar to (tarvalonlib/encyclopaedia-wot - wheeloftime) which provide chapter summaries and sometimes hyperlinks with basic character/location/title information ((WITHOUT FUTURE SPOILERS)).
Is there something similar for stormlight(the fandom wiki is full of spoilers)
Also where can I find basic character art and detailed map (without any future spoilers)
Just a little thought I had, but considering arc 2 will happen roughly 15 years after the end WaT, may we not have new characters that are half human and half singer? We know that Herdazians and Horneaters have singer ancestry but surely they only share a small percentage of singer blood, right? What would happen if a singer and a human (radiant?) directly had a child I wonder, I don't think we've seen this yet but considering some singers are getting friendly with humans by the end of RoW, I don't think it's a stretch that we may have a new mixed race character in the back 5 books of the series.
This book was incredible. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. It had an amazing ending with the Dalinar and Kaladin crossover. I’m so excited to see where this series goes.
Shallan and Jasnah’s plot thickens beyond what I expected at the end.. I knew they were going to become a dynamic duo, but I did not see anything else coming in those final Shallan chapters. Jasnah faking the fabrial! Shallan killed her father!? Parshendi might be the Voidbringers?? Her father a ghostblood?! Shallan able to do what Jasnah can do! What the hell is going on lol this is wild
All of the final scenes with Dalinar and Kaladin were epic and what a deal was made at the end. I just hope it holds up for the bridgemans sake. Sadeas has always been sketchy.. Also I was hoping Kaladin was going to get that Parshendis blade at the end of the battle scene, still waiting on him to get one. I cannot wait to see what the Dalinar and Kaladin do together in the next book.
Szeth man.. I do not want him targeting Dalinar. I was hoping they would eventually get on the same side. Seems like that will not be the case, but I’m not counting it out yet. I feel like this is going to end up to either Kaladin, Dalinar, or Szeth dying and I don’t want to see any of that. (But Szeth getting taken out of his misery and passing the blade to Kaladin could be a beautiful way to go about it). Seems like Kaladin is becoming like Szeth with the StormLight abilities so maybe Szeth could meet his match. But ideally they come together and fight together would be wayyyy better!
Wit.. I’m so excited to start getting more of Hoid. I’ve only read Mistborn Trilogy, Elantris, and Warbreaker where he has had minor roles so it’s cool to see him more involved.
Journey before destination…and this is about to be a hell of a journey!
What do yall think?
It seems like most of y'all, at least from what i see on here, listen to the audio book versions and my question is why? I, for one, am a massive audio book hater lol don't get me wrong however y'all want or need to consume the content is your decision but I just can't get with the idea that how someone else reads a book influences my perceptions of the characters. So yeah my question is why?

Good times begin, let's see if I can't bang out the series before WaT!
Like many of you, I've been working on a re-listen of the series in preparation for Wind and Truth, and after cremlings, minks have to be the second most common animal mentioned in SA. Is there something significant about them I'm missing?
Slight spoilers for Oathbringer * * * *
I'm doing another read through and I've hit the part where Lift and Dalinar are staring down the fused army alone, and she's just like "Nah we got this" and I'm just like damn this kids a badass 😂😂
We dressed up as some of our favorites this year. I figured this community would get a kick out of it.
Low effort stormlight halloween costume lol 😅
Just finished RoW, and want to learn more about the Cosmere and its lore. I have had a tiny bit explained to me by a friend already… and now I really want to learn more about Shards, Wit etc.
However, I don’t want to spoil any of the other Cosmere books for myself. I haven’t read any of the others yet.
Is it a bad idea to start reading up on Coppermind? Can you guys suggest particular pages I can read without spoiling the rest of the Cosmere books?
Here is my Stormlight Archive pumpkin this year.
During the battle of thaylen field, (audio book only so don't know true spellings) ther is s part where I think adolin comes through a wall and sees jasnah with geometric patterns dissolving? Is this her shard plate and has she sworn that ideal yet? Or was tht an after effect of soul casting?
Just read ch. 22 of RoW when Pattern put his arms around Adolin and Shallan and tells Adolin he's really good at talking. That made me laugh but it also made me think.
As an only child with bad social skills, I think it would be so nice to have a little spirit bonded to me. Something that isn't chronically busy with its own life and struggles, something that is always around to talk and support me whenever I need. I know Syl isn't around Kaladin literally 24/7, but she's still more present than any human ever is. I feel like I could do anything if I had a bond like that.
Not sure what kind of spren I'd bond with though, probably a cryptic. I doubt my sense of morality would line up with that of an honorspren and I'd hate to accidentally kill the little guy. Plus, lightweaving sounds like it'd be broken irl (good broken). We don't seem to know much about other kinds of spren but inkspren sound interesting; they don't get along with cryptics OR honorspren? Odd.
I’m very unoriginal when it comes to video game characters so I usually make a character from a favourite book. Since I’m currently reading SA and I already made Kaladin (as a Khajit) in ESO, here’s my take on Adolin who will be saving Thedas in the new Dragon Age game
Hi!
I'm looking for some christmas gift ideas for someone who loves the series!
I've been trying to find some nice fanart to print on a canvas, but couldn't find anything high quality enough to print.
Any good and creative recommendations?
For Jasnah to try to kill Renarin? I read OB some months ago and am too lazy to reread. I remember thinking that Renarin was about to cross to Odium's side near the end, or having a feeling that he would becone evil, but I can't remember what had he done to make me think that, and to make Jasnah nearly kill him? I mark the spoiler flair as RoW just in case.
Kill the Pursuer? Was it Gravitation or Adhesion that tore his head off?
I'm halfway through the fourth book by now 😭 I should've known by how quickly I went through Mistborn when I first read that series. Sanderson has a way of drawing me in to where I just can't stop reading. I work at a school, and between every class I have been blasting through the series. Up until now, I named Mistborn as my favorite series of novels, but I have a feeling that spot will be thoroughly taken over by the end of this book, based on the few things I've heard about the ending.
I think that line, on the blurb of all the books, does not refer to the Radiants. I think it refers to Dalinar ascending to the shard of honour, Taravangian taking the shard of Odium, and whatever is going on with Rysn and the events of the dawnshard novella.
Maybe this is either obvious or disproven, I haven't read all of the cosmere and feel I'm only beginning to see the bigger picture, but wanted to share the thought I'd had.
In my RoW reread, I was reminded of something that confused me about how Navani and Raboniel created the Rhythm of War and discovered Warlight since the first time I read it. I preface this with the fact that I am only a hobby musician with no understanding of music theory beyond chords and choir.
From my understanding, the pure tones of Roshar are individual notes and that there is an ancient 3-note scale, from which each note resonates with Stormlight, Lifelight, and Voidlight. When Navani and Raboniel combine Stormlight and Voidlight by singing Honor and Odium’s pure tones respectively to Honor’s rhythm and Odium’s rhythm, they shift each tone in order to “snap into harmony” to create Voidlight. I never understood this, because “shifting” the note would change the note to something else, and thus it would no longer be the same pure tone, wouldn’t it? By shifting the notes they changed the harmonic interval between the original pure tones, or am I misunderstanding the text?
I’ve scoured the forums for explanations of this and I’m sure someone has asked this before, I just can’t find it. I’ve read awesome posts like this (https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/comments/19a8qah/what_chord_do_the_pure_tones_of_roshar_make/) that discuss the chord that would be created by the three pure tones of Roshar and I love the answer provided by aldeayeah, for example, but I still don’t understand how Navani and Raboniel “shifted” the pure tones.
EDIT: My best guess right now is that the pure tones/frequencies themselves did not change, but they were able to sync Odium’s rhythm and Honor’s rhythm that they were singing to a cohesive polyrhythm in time with each other, and that the “shifting” did not refer to any change in pitch of the notes, but in shifting of the time signature to result in a cohesive harmony between the two notes and a consistent polyrhythm.
Like the title says, just curious to see what everyone's favorite chapters are. I don't have enough time to start a full read but wanna get myself excited for WaT to come out in December
There are different theories about what will happen with the Shards on Roshar. Dalinar being the one to take Up Honor is a hot guess, but there is also the theory that Cultivation set up Lift and Taravangian to each be the new vessel Cultivation and Odium. The latter even already happened.
I agree with these theories, but I think it will out a little differently: These three individuals will each take up a Shard, but will UNITE into one, whilst Dalinar, Lift and Taravangian all remain Vessels of the combined Shard.
That would be a somewhat satisfying ending. Dalinar unites them into potentially something better, as well as making sure that there isn't one Vessel that can overpower the others.
Also it would set up a good environment for the second five books, because it doesn't necessarily mean the Intend of the new Shard is going to be better. Just a little better controlled.
What that intend might be I am not sure. It could have to do something in the lines of progress, in a honorable way, but still with the means of forcing that what they want. Maybe Conquest. That would also have implications for the wider cosmere.
