So there is a really cute girl in my gym. How do I approach her.
I guess we all passed this house on the way to Rosses Point at some stage but it's just sat this way for as long as I've known it. Anyone have any info about it??
Dia duit, Sligeach!
I’ll be moving to Sligo in a few days from mainland Europe, and I’ve never even set foot in Ireland (so no pressure, Sligo! 🇮🇪☘️). Any recommendations for must-do activities or great places to eat? I’m all ears for suggestions – looking to experience both the local culture and the food scene.
Also, any tips on how to meet people in Sligo? 🤔 Anyone know any good board game nights, recreational sports clubs, or social groups? I’d love to get involved and make some new friends. + If anyone’s up for showing a newbie around or grabbing a coffee to share some local wisdom, I’d really appreciate it!
A bit about me: I’m a male in my early 20s, a polyglot, and (until recently) I played volleyball and sang in a group weekly. I’m also into video/board games and love snow sports – though I’m guessing I’ll need to swap the snow for water here (wish me luck with that!).
Go raibh maith agat! 🙏
Anybody know the nearest place to Sligo town to do your motorbike IBT?
I’ve noticed some new fixed cameras on the N4 around the Carraroe exit as you’re coming in, and as well as you’re coming off the Carraroe exit headed for Collooney. Any idea what they are.
I think they might be traffic monitoring cameras but I’ve heard people say they’re speed cameras. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure what they are. Thanks.
My wife is looking to get a haircut but we’re new in town and she doesn’t know where to go. Any recommendations please?
Hey,
Am thinking of visiting sligo Town for a weekend away soon.
Am also thinking about hiking around the benbullbin area.
What would people recommend in terms of things to do, restaurants, pubs, etc?
Thanks.
Hey guys looking for a good mechanic in the town area preferably? Thanks
Anyone know a good bartender who would be available for a private party. PM please with any suggestions 🙏
Hi everyone,
I live near Sligo University Hospital and suffer from chronic migraines, which can be quite debilitating. On bad days, I’m unable to leave the house, let alone do groceries. This has been a big challenge for me as I live alone.
My regular grocery list usually includes essentials like bread, eggs, and fruits. I can’t buy in bulk because bread and some other items tend to go stale quickly, so I often need to restock every 3-4 days.
Unfortunately, Tesco delivery isn’t a viable option for me since their slots are often 2+ days out, and I don’t have close friends nearby who could help me on short notice.
Does anyone know of a reliable way to get small amounts of groceries delivered on the same day or within a few hours in this area? Or any other tips for managing this situation would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
Anyone hear about this or have any details?
thinkin of visiting sligo, and im a traditional musician and irish speaker myself. is there a strong traditional music/ irish language scene there ? thanks xxoxo
Anyone? All recommendations welcome
Samhlaigh práta ollmhór ag caitheamh barr hata, ag damhsa ar bhogha ceatha ⁊ é ag aithris filíochta do thréad iasc eitilte. Idir an dá linn, tá leipreachán aisteach ag iarraidh an práta a ghabháil le líontán déanta de spaghetti, fad is a bhíonn curfá beacán draíochtúil ag canadh sa chúlra. Go tobann, feictear cat a bhíonn ag taisteal am, ag éileamh gurb é caomhnóir stocaí caillte é, ⁊ tugann sé dúshlán don phráta chuig cluiche fichille ar scamall déanta as candy. De réir mar a ghluaiseann na píosaí, casann an spéir corcra, ⁊ máirseálann paráid aonbheannaigh thart, gach ceann acu ag iompar blas difriúil uachtar reoite. Cad a d'fhéadfadh tarlú ina dhiaidh sin sa saol whimsical seo?
Lads. I was out late tonight and I actually cried. There's at least three homeless people sleeping in doorways during this awful weather enduring horrible conditions with inappropriate gear. Can we please just make sure that these people don't die from exposure? I had two spare down sleeping bags and a winter jacket that I gave to two of them and I brought them all sone hot food. One guy who is at the Savoy on high street has serious mental health issues and F'd me out of it for trying to cover him up better and for offering him something hot to eat.
Whatever you may think, I promise you that these people are not there by choice or to beg. They are genuinely having to sleep on the street in an absolute blizzard. If you are able to, please just bring a cup of hot coffee or hot food , soup or warm clothes or blankets if you can?
One is outside the Chinese entering Queen Maeve Square opposite the library, one is in the old Brodericks shop doorway on O' Connell St and one is in the Savoy entrance as I mentioned. I'm sure that there are others too. Can we just have a little humanity and look out for these people. Thank you all kindly.
Does anyone know where to find this, or has anyone bought one in Sligo at all.
Appreciate any help
Is there like a Costco equivalent in or around Sligo where I can get my stuff for a better price? Tesco just doesn't cut it anymore.
Currently in sligo hospital waiting to be seen, and I'm hungry as fuck, so where has the best spicebag for when I'm done here
Looks like new apartments, but are they for us or the refugees? They’re coming along fast, looks like 2 separate blocks
Any feedback on wages and general workplace conditions in abbvie sligo? More specifically in the warehouse TIA
Does anyone remember the guy who used to work in Tesco, predominantly found in the fruit and veg area, and who was forever whistling the same infernal "tune" on repeat all day long?
Does he still work there?
Surely that was annoying for his colleagues?
I have nothing against the guy, it's just occasionally his "tune" pops into my head and it makes me smile.

Does anyone here know if LoveSligo gift cards charge retailers with a commission fee? I know One4All cards can cost sellers up to 10% of the transaction in commission fee, so they lose 10% of the income to One4All.
I had a look at the LoveSligo website and there is a post from the time it launched stating that there is no commission fee. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm that this is still the case or has a fee been introduced since then? I hope not.
Cheers.
What happens if I can't pay the rent to the landlord?
Are there any businesses in town where you could sell a used bike or would facebook/done deal be the only option?
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone knows of a sci-fi/fantasy or even general book/movie club etc meetup in Sligo? Or if anyone would be interested in starting one?
Thanks.
