Hi all, tourist here. I wanna go to Killarney this morning, Google maps is routing through the Ring of Kerry road. How are the conditions this morning? Any ice?

Engagement on Valentia

How’s things all?

I’m planning to propose on a weekend away to Valentia over Christmas. I’m just wondering would anyone here be able to recommend a good spot to do it at? Is Bray Head the best?

Anyone coming from Kenmare to Dingle?

We were staying in a hotel in Kenmare and forgot something important. We're in Dingle now and wondering if anyone would be coming this way (or part way) today or tomorrow to avoid driving back. Chancing my arm!

Things to do with young children in Kenmare and surrounding areas?

We will be spending a few months in Kenmare, our youngest is 6 and we would be interested in anything to do with/for that age group?

Pubs in Killarney for live sport and food.

Hi all,

Heading to Killarney for our staff Xmas do , next Thursday and Friday. Am going down myself on the Wednesday to meet a friend who lives just outside Killarney. Could anyone recommend a nice pub/restaurant for food that would also be showing the Man United Game on Premier Sport? Game is at 8.15 so could also just watch it in a pub after getting food elsewhere beforehand. Any recommendations welcome. More worried about catching the game than the food tbh 😂

Ballybunion

Very curious to know the subreddits opinion on the town. It’s been a shadow of its former self for years now. The main street has very little businesses, no accommodation, high prices for pints. I thought the Ukrainian’s coming in would bring life to the town and more money but having spoke to local’s they tend to get freebies and keep their income. Just wanted to hear yere opinion’s as it hits close to home as i’m very fond of the town. Why should American tourists choose Ballybunion golf course nowadays when other towns have so much more to offer unfortunately.

Dingle New Year's Eve

How's it going, a group of us are heading down to Dingle for 3 nights (30th - 2nd) predominantly for the craic and a few pints. What can we expect on NYE itself? I know it will be busy but how busy are we talking say in comparison to Other Voices weekend?

And any advice on how to tackle the night? Better off just picking a pub early in the day and staying there all night or is there any chance of getting into a couple later in the night with a group of 8?

Final questions.. Will any of the pubs have music/a DJ type set up or will that be venturing into extreme young one territory? Maybe the 30th will be the day to test the waters! Cheers for any tips.

Elections

With the elections just a week away and the canvassing really heating up, what are people thinking about our next representatives?
Hard to see a big upset in the county but wouldn’t be surprised if there was a change

Heating Engineer / Plumber in/near Cahersiveen?

Hey,

I've an issue with a 20 year old underfloor heating [UFH] system, and I'm hoping someone can recommend a good heating engineer/plumber in the area (Valentia Island). Looks like there is a problem with the original install (from a friend of a friend - its apparently a complete bodge job), and its not been working well.

Thanks!

Who will you be voting for in election?

Result in Kerry seems to be quite predictable compared to other constituencies but nonetheless who are we voting for?

Why has Killarney become so rough?

I was attacked outside the Ross hotel, down the alley beside the hotel a few weeks ago on a Wednesday around 10pm while on a night out with my GF.

Two foreigner lads attempted to rob me and thankfully I have years of MMA training under my belt so I managed to Knock one out and the other backed off and they left us alone

General Election Predictions

What are we all predicting for the upcoming general election? Is it just me, or is this a very lacklustre line up? I can't see anyone new causing much upset to the four current TDs that are running again, but who is likely to take that 5th seat?

Also, does anyone know anything about the independents? Where do their politics lie?

Has anyone in the Tralee/Killarney area bought a Custom fitted kitchen recently? And could recommend a supplier? I know there is Noyeks. But maybe there is a more local company I could support? Thanks!
