Hi there! my partner and I are getting married in 2026 and need to sort out ceremony music, preferably a harpist or a pianist, any help is appreciated!
29M, moved back to Derry after 10 years. Just fancy a conversation with someone new, so if that sounds up your street give me a shout.
Need a new kitchen, including taking down a stub wall, moving radiators, electrics, the lot and don't want to have to deal with organising it all myself.
Has anyone used any companies that they would recommend?
I usually go to bridge end for my petrol but is there anywhere else where the price is low?
Whole forecourt is absolutely covered in oil, cars skidding trying to leave, can't be good for tyres that. I looked everywhere at the station and online there doesn't seem to be anywhere to report it.

I would ask if you can all sign and share this petition. Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I’d love to know if there would be any ASD groups or clubs that I could go to, to meet new like minded people. I struggle with talking to people socially, so I thought I’d give this a shot and see? Ideally 20-30 age bracket?
Thanks 🙂
Anybody know which places serve until 2? I know Bennigan's and Metro do, just wondering where else there is.
I have a very old oil tank with a 10cm lid, and I’m looking to purchase a replacement heating oil tank lid from a local shop. Specifically, I’d like to buy a lid with a hole in the center so I can install a Float Gauge.
Hello,
I am doing a petition for NI Assembly to make half fare travel free for people with disabilities.

Is it more fuel-efficient to keep the heating on 24 hours a day at a constant temperature of 16°C, or to heat the house for fixed hours each day? How do most people set their heating systems?
To clarify I'm not talking about the 👃 kind, or indeed the 🏔️ kind but the Window stuff. I can't seem to find any anywhere , B&M , home bargains, the range, pound shops, Dunelm nothing , none , nadda 😕 Has anyone seen any in any shops on their travels ? My daughter is wondering why we only have half a reindeer 🦌in the kitchen 😁

You have to love when the graffiti writer is the highest educated of the group. Those pesky protestants.

Annual service required on my gas boiler any recommendations.
First time I've had to do this so no idea who's the best to go to and roughly how much does it cost please
Could be moving down towards Robert street. Would have to drive the whole way up Spencer road and the crescent link to get to work which is outve the city. Handiest option would be to park somewhere near Irish street or old Strabane road as I would be able to drive up past the test centre and come out at the hospital and avoid Spencer road. Is this possible? Anyone know if the parking there is free or would you be ticketed/towed?
Any good ideas? Sitting down for dinner is a bit intense for the first date in my opinion. A walk and a coffee might be the best bet.
Mine is starting to develop cataracts. Still very early stages. She's an elderly lady, but otherwise fit as a fiddle. I'm looking a ballpark figure on how much this might cost, as well as the best people who deal with veterinary opthalmology.
Few American students here and want to get them something that reminds them of home!
(Too tired to invade a country and would be sacked if I was a fascist - IM JOKING!!!)
Does anywhere do Pumpkin Pie? 🌺
Hi, can anyone recommend where to get a Mazda repaired in Derry. Engine light is on with a warning about the particulate matter sensor. Was hoping it just needed a long drive with some dpf cleaner but a few long drives with cleaner have failed to clear it.
Has anyone ever used www.Giveavoucher.com I see a lot of restaurants in Derry / Buncrana are on it
Any experiences?
What I mean by "work" is how does it actually work as opposed to how it is supposed to work?
I've not really looked into this but recently I've heard some horrible stories of people getting houses who work full time and others with 3 kids in a 2 bed flat not having as many "points" (whatever that means).
I also heard there are grants being handed out and some people have received over £12k to buy everything new.
I'm fortunate enough not to need this support from the government but it must be nice to get a brand new house with £12k to spend whilst working full time. Sorry if this comes across as ignorant, I am genuinely ignorant to the topic but also curious.
Edit: it did sound like BS that people were getting this amount and that seems to be backed up by some comments.
"A LOCAL PUB HAS DONE THE SAD CHRISTMAS ADVERT NONSENSE FFS" - The battle cry form John the Caretaker, so here's my thoughts...
Every year, like clockwork, the public braces itself for the Christmas adver, the latest offering from John Lewis. Once hailed as cultural moments that defined a festive season, these adverts have become increasingly robotic and biring.
The once fresh blend of soft piano covers, emotional storytelling, and heartfelt sentimentality now feels less like festive magic and hope and more like a predictable seasonal obligation.
John Lewis used a winning formula: a breathy, slowed-down cover of a classic song, a poignant (saccharine?) narrative, and a message about kindness, connection, and/or the spirit of giving.
It started with hits like The Bear and the Hare and The Man on the Moon, which captured hearts and wallets (the objective!) in equal measure. This approach felt unique and elevated advertising to a new level; beautiful marketing!
But the problem with a winning formula is that, after a while, it begins to lose its power. Each year now feels like a remix of the last, with the same emotional beats, the same aesthetic, and the same inevitable "aww" moment.
It’s a cycle that, despite its intent to warm hearts, has grown cold, stale and boring. Every corner pub is at it! Can we be original?
What was once innovative has become cliché and stale.
In a world that feels increasingly chaotic, the public crave something different, something genuinely uplifting, surprising, or fun.
The warmth of previous John Lewis adverts is now overshadowed by their predictability. People want joy and originality, not another dirge-like cover of Sweet Child O’ Mine over a slow-motion snowball fight...
Kevin the Carrot campaigns, or even Sports Direct (Scrooge be better here?), whose unapologetically chaotic adverts have stood out as something new and fun...
Ditch the tired piano covers and obvious emotional manipulation. Take risks. Be bold. Try humor, or lean into unexpected storytelling. Showcase joy, celebration, or even the chaos of Christmas—it doesn’t always have to be about a lonely man or a sad kid staring at the moon in slow motion.
Christmas adverts are at their best when they reflect the mood of the moment, and right now, I believe people seem to want connection, laughter, and a bit of fun. By breaking free of the John Lewis template, I'd appeal to impressionists/mouldy marketing teams: STOP. Original content can't be that hard to do?
Until then, we’ll brace ourselves for another slow, moon staring, whispery tune from corner pubs to multinationals with a Christmas message of: "We're invested in people as long as you invest in us at our prices"
Happy Christmas & get original! (In a whispery voice...) 🤶🏻
PS - John the Caretaker would be superb in a video about Christmas. A man made of ice with a wee warm heart! (©️)
