Found a poster that had googly eyes put on it on Sunday's well while going up to college. The googly-eyed bandit may have struck again

Allergy test in/around cork city region?

Can anyone please recommend any where they have gone for an allergy test (for an adult) in or near Cork City? I've googled a few places and am seeing various price ranges at vastly different ends of the scale. I'm just looking for a normal standard allergy test, if anyone has been to one in the past, please let me know. Thanks.

Cat owners, can you recommend the Abbeyville Veterinary Hospital?

Hi everyone,

I currently have both my cats with the Cat Hospital and even though I'm happy with them I'm looking to move to a vet closer, as it is a pain to get there without having a car.

I'm on the south side and Abbeyville is reasonably close. Their reviews are good but I'd like to get some opinions specifically from cat owners. Is there anyone you can recommend? How are their dental services?

Thanks!

Removal of dilapidated phone boxes. Has eir given up, again?

There was a PR push in September about Eir finally getting around to removing the remaining few ugly and slowly rotting phone boxes that they seem to have abandoned around the city centre.

Why are they still here? Seems to be several of them just still in place despite all the articles in the Echo, Examiner and Cork Beo.

Did Eir just send a press release and then abandon the project?

Dead Cat at Work - What to Do

I just got to work in Donnybrook and heartbreakingly there's a dead cat at my front door... What do I do here? I feel like the caretaker for the estate will just take it and fuck it in a bin, some family might wanna say goodbye.. I don't have any social media so if someone could advise what/where to look... It's an adult tabby

The Proc.

Aka Peoples Republic Of Cork. Its early 00s "glory days" are long gone. Today it seems to be four or five middle aged lads with multiple Alts posting shit memes and rimming gobshites like Elon Musk.

Sheila's Hostel

I'm a spanish student that is going to Cork for a week with some more students to learn English and see the place. My teacher told me that im staying at Sheila's Hostel and im reading the Reviews and I see a lot of people claiming that this Hostel is really bad because of the beds or the shared bathrooms. Is it really that bad?

(Sorry for my bad english tho)

Warhammer Groups?

Hi all, recently got into Warhammer 40k awhile back and I am currently looking to get into Warhammer Fantasy as well. Are there any social groups to join to help me not only get better with the lore but to also meet like minded gamers? Thank you.

I passed my driving test with 0 driving faults/marks :')

As someone who's always been quite unconfident, anxious and sometimes even afraid of driving... On my 4th attempt, after about 3 years of practicing, i finally passed. Im sharing this in hopes to inspire others who have self doubts and driving anxiety, you can do it as long as you keep practicing!! Never give up!

Motorcycle Parking Warden

Hi all has anybody come across a Parking Warden on a Motorcycle in Cork City? I was on Popes quay sat on the benches and he was walking past and seen a older lady that was upset. He stopped and started talking to her to make sure she was okay and gave her a tissue from the box on his bike. He sounded English. It was nice to witness. I always thought they were souless 🤣

Made a post about eating alone in restaurants in Cork a while back.

I braved some places, and not others.

I need to know the most accommodating ones.

I just like trying different locations.

My best friend is a fussy eater. I'm not, I'm voracious, and I like trying new things 🤣👌

I need to up my chopstick game though, I'm all hands 😅😅

What’s Nosh like?

Anyone tried Nosh 19? Any dishes you recommend? It’s a pity they still have all the old bad reviews of Nash but have been meaning to give it a go.

Family photos

Any recommendations lads, want to get something booked in for Christmas as a gift. Seems a ton of them around and costs are fairly varied. Just want something fairly standard, everyone wearing matching t shirts or shandon holding bottles of tanora.

The windows tune

Does anyone remember in 2018/2019 when you’d randomly hear the windows start up tune going off around midnight? I know it’s been heard on here kinsale road, the south Douglas road and the marina. Some fella went on the radio about it and all of sudden it stopped? Does anyone know what it was?

Primary schools in Douglas

Hi all! My family and I are new to Cork, and we’re in the process of choosing a primary school for our daughter. We've been fortunate to receive offers from two schools: St. Columba’s Girls National School and Douglas Rochestown Educate Together National School.

Both schools seem fantastic in their own ways, but since we’re still getting to know the area, we’re finding it tough to make a final decision. I’d love to hear from anyone with experience or insights into either school. Thanks

Good pregnancy spa treatments in Cork?

My husband works remotely and has his Christmas Party in Cork in December. I am heavily pregnant but also want to have one last tiny gateaway before bobo arrives. Any good recommendations where to relax, get some massage going, facial etc when he gets blasted ? 17 years I am in Ireland and visited Cork 2 times perhaps 🤷
