Fire in Stoneybatter?

Does anyone know where is the smoke coming from in Stoneybatter? I looked out the window and thought it's thick fog but I went outside and around O'Devaney Gardens building site you can barely breathe it smells so bad of smoke.

Can't hear no fire trucks though. Any idea what's up?

General election

With the impending election upon us. I am wondering who to vote for? I have always been Sinn Fein but as everyone knows they messed up big time the last couple of years. I’m here on my phone tonight reading through all the parties policies. Trying to wrap my head around it. I would love some insight from others. On another note, did anyone see Gerry Hutch is running in the election? Crazy!

Live DART app

Does anyone know of a live DART app? I used have one but cannot locate now. The Irish Rail app doesn't seem to update for actual times expected (delays etc)

Thanks

Can anyone recommend a good therapist?

Have tried a few and haven’t seen much progress. Hoping to find someone who’s experienced in alternative methods e.g. EMDR. Don’t mind spending a few quid on it but would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

Aer lingus flight query

Hello, I booked a flight to Zurich for two people. Me and my wife. We both got the standard 10kg each check in allowance. Can I combine this allowance and take a single bag of 20kg for checking in ? So we both share the one bag instead of us lugging around 2 10 kg bags. Anyone with experience on this please let me know. Thank you.

Woman whizzing down Grafton Street, on wheelie office chair, towel around face, using a plastic skeleton arm to scratch at ground.

Did anyone else see her? She was up by the Rollin Doughnut shop, then whizzed away. I'm so defeated by Monday in the office, that I can't tell if it was performance art or crack cocaine.

Legality of cutting down signs in a housing estate?

Nothing political or anything.

An oul one with nothing better to do has been harassing my sons for parking on the road in our public housing estate which they’re allowed do, she’s gotten on to the council about putting double yellow lines on our road, even though with cars parked either side the bin trucks can still get down.

She’s put up a sign on the nearest tree to my house saying no parking, and another one with a 10km/h speed limit on it.

Am I allowed remove these?

South Inner City pubs for group bookings of 10-12?

Hi a cháirde. What are your recommendations for pubs that might reserve a table (not a separate section) for a group of about a dozen people on a Friday night? Idea would be to later head towards Wicklow Street for a bop. But for now just looking for a nice pub within walking distance that might pop a ‘Reserved’ sign on a table or two. Bonus points if you can hear and hold a conversation in the place 😬

GRMA in advance 🙏

Mechanics Dublin 1, 7 & 8

Hey I have just waited a month to get into my mechanics who I trust. I have an old van, that's not tenable paying insurance and not driving for a month. Any recommendations of good, trustworthy mechanics in and around city centre.

Wood cutting services?

So I live in the Sandyford area and have 4 pieces of upstand worktop wood whose thickness I need cut down by 1/2 cm so they fit on a trim that'll support them. They are quite long so I don't trust myself cutting them with a circular saw.

Does anyone here know of any shops that would do this without costing me too much? I've already tried the Tallaght B&Q but they said they only cut the wood you buy from the store.

Jigsaw Puzzles - Where to Find

I am living in Dublin on an exchange semester (Sept-Dec). I always am working on a jigsaw puzzle, but unfortunately I've bought and completed as many as I can fit in my suitcase back to Canada.

Just wondering if there's anywhere in the city to find used puzzles for either very cheap or on a short-term borrow basis? I have checked many of the thrift stores, including Vincents, but find it hard to justify 8-10 euro (approx. 15-17 Canadian) on a used puzzle that I will have to re-donate because my suitcase is full.

Thanks!

Help with baby essentials

Hi iv made a burner account for obvious reasons, im a single mother of a 3 year old and a 5 week old. I cannot work as I have cystic fibrosis and iv nobody to mind my children. I live in a small apartment and receive HAP. My 5 week old is a very hungry baby and I’m struggling to afford formula (I cannot breast feed as my medication is expressed in my breast milk and it’s not suitable for my son) and basic essentials like nappies and wipes. Does anyone know any organisations or charities other than SVP that will

Looking for ceramics studio

Hi! I am moving to Dublin soon, and I was wandering if anyone here knows any studio where I could do ceramics. I have some expirience together with my wife, and we are looking for a place where we can work, fire the clay to biskwit and glaze. Does anyone know place like that?

Pints

Hi folks

Maybe this has been talked about to death here but I haven’t really seen it in a specific way - but more related to temple bar etc. but I have to ask what we all think of the price of pints in Dublin? When has the standard become 7 euro or over?

These won’t ever go down is the problem - so it’s 7 euro at least now. And it’s not just craft beer any more - it’s most beers now.
