About

A subreddit for sharing those miniature epiphanies that make the mundane more amazing.

"Showerthought" is a loose term that applies to the types of thoughts you might have while carrying out a routine task like showering, driving, or daydreaming. At their best, showerthoughts are universally relatable and provide new perspectives on the mundane.

Please be respectful of others' submissions. Rudeness is unacceptable.

Please read our rules and the requirements for each type of post before submitting.

The current state of AI-generated pictures of women where they all look like a variation of the same big-eyed, fair-skinned, prominent-cheek-boned faces (which is supposedly rare IRL) is starting to feel tired and generic to the point we might no longer find it attractive.

We’re constantly playing a tug of war against companies by paying YouTube to not show ads while they pay YT to show them.

When explaining English to kids or non-English speakers, we often say certain consonants are silent, but if a vowel is silent we just assume they already know it.

It's interesting how singers/poets expose their deepest hurts, yet we're all like "That's so beautiful, so true." and not "That's some deep trauma, go get help."

I feel like I’m watching the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come’s vision for Scrooge play out with the reactions to the United Healthcare CEO getting assassinated. The timing being around Christmas makes it all the more uncanny.

It's interesting how we are often told how law enforcements budgets aren't big enough for them to deal with issues like Medicare fraud, corporate collusion, and illegal claim denials. But when a CEO dies there are enough resources for a multi-state manhunt.
