About

A subreddit for sharing those miniature epiphanies that make the mundane more amazing.

"Showerthought" is a loose term that applies to the types of thoughts you might have while carrying out a routine task like showering, driving, or daydreaming. At their best, showerthoughts are universally relatable and provide new perspectives on the mundane.

Please be respectful of others' submissions. Rudeness is unacceptable.

Please read our rules and the requirements for each type of post before submitting.

AI has the potential to make the justice system much fairer than now. Bias will be provable from the code therefore evidence-based outcomes could be more common.

As a species, humans cultivate and consume every plant species we find to be edible, but when it comes to eating animal and insect species, we are very selective.

If homosexuality is actually genetic and maybe even hereditary, there will eventually be no more homosexuals in a society that is more accepting of childless homosexual couples.

It's ambiguous to schedule something between 1am and 2am at the end of daylight savings time; i.e is the meeting at 1:15am for the first or second time?

The most expensive houses are usually in the least polluted areas. A mortgage is most people's greatest expense. It follows then that we will spend most of the money we earn in our lives, just to breathe fresh(er) air.

Insurance companies need to be regulated better. They have far too much money sitting around to make commercials which could go to lowering premiums. Most of the large companies have multiple ad campaigns running on TV in the most expensive slots, year round.
