I have an older Roku Ultra, it doesn't have a Micro SD card slot (as far as I can tell, I've looked all over it) but it does have a USB port on the side. Can I use the USB port to expand the storage of the Roku so that it can have more channels installed on it? Or am I out of luck on this one and am stuck with the storage it has since there is not Micro SD card slot?
I’m watching Jackie Chan movies and majority of his movies are in mandarin, I really don’t like dubbed movies I don’t know it just ticks me off it just ruins the immersion for me I don’t mind subtitles. I’m getting off topic. Is there an option on the Roku channel for mandarin or at least to have original audio?
So I just got a new TCL Roku tv tonight. I added it to my account and all of my apps downloaded on it like they were supposed to. I went to bed to watch tv on another device and all apps were gone from my Home Screen. I rebooted several times and even tried unplugging the power. No help. I tried to reinstall an app and it was already installed and let me load it. But nothing is on the Home Screen. If I go to the Roku app on my phone, all the apps are there and I can launch them. Any suggestions? :-(
Do I want this on or off. I seem to get lip sync issues with this on. Should it be better?? However, with this on I do not see the tv badge popping up showing the resolution every 20 mins. I thought that was from the refresh rate.
So got back to my TV. Turned it on, and all of my apps were gone. Fussed over it for a bit and kept powering down the TV. Nothing. But one app that I didn't have, I think, was roku photo stream I think, I removed it and all of my tiles including my xbox tile came back for 3 seconds, then went back away. When I go to the app on "popular apps" or something, I can still go to it and watch stuff, just can't move it to home. Some help would be appreciated before I mess up my TV
How can I watch tomorrow? I don't have any paid subscriptions
There must have been some update today because I got home, turned on my tv and was assaulted by this aweful buzz sound every time I hit select or home. It’s so bad I thought my tv speaker was broken. Eventually realized it’s an update to the theme sounds that adds a noise whenever you hit select. Terrible sound I can’t stand it. How do I turn off theme sounds entirely? Thank you!
My older parents have a Roku TV that has just become unbearably slow. The TV itself is fine, but the brains needed replacing. So we got them a Roku Express HD. The new remote has no power button or volume controls. My question is whether I can use the old remote on the new Roku, while still allowing for power and volume. If not, what a good recommendation? I don't want to add a second, nearly identical, remote to their setup as that would be confusing.
Hello everybody. I have a Roku and recently have been looking for live tv alternatives. I know about Pluto, Plex, Tubi, Freevee, and Roku TV, but I was wondering if they’re any other good options. Any other suggestions would be great. Thanks!
My Roku tv is stuck in a factory restart boot loop.
This all started when it randomly failed to launch YouTube... I soon realized it wouldn't launch any apps other then prime video. I tried looking for updates for the apps, the TV firmware and nothing worked.
Eventually we tried to factory reset it... it just kept looping between a roku screen and a black one. We unplugged it for now because I don't know what else to do.
Please help!!
Hi everyone,I’m running into a frustrating issue with AirPlay on my Roku TV, and I’m hoping someone here can help or share their experiences. Here’s the situation: I have two MP4 video files that I cast to my Roku TV using AirPlay. One video has a standard 16:9 aspect ratio (1280x720), and it plays perfectly, maintaining its proportions and filling the screen as expected. However, the second video has a 2.39:1 aspect ratio (1918x802)—a cinematic widescreen format—and when I cast it via AirPlay, it gets resized and stretched to fill the entire 16:9 screen. This completely ruins the original look of the video.

My Question:
Has anyone else experienced this issue with AirPlay on Roku TVs? Is this a general problem with how Roku handles AirPlay streams, or is there something specific in my setup causing this? Are there any workarounds or settings I might have missed?Any advice would be greatly appreciated! If you’ve found a way to preserve ultra-wide aspect ratios (like 2.39:1) when casting via AirPlay to a Roku TV, please let me know. Alternatively, if this is just how Roku TVs handle AirPlay, I’d love to hear confirmation from others. Thanks in advance for your help! I have a Roku express that keeps turning off when I leave it on LiveTV or a live YouTube stream for my dog while I’m at work. I’ve tried everything to turn this setting off and when I google the problem it says to look in the power setting under system but …. My Roku literally doesn’t have that subcategory. I’ve looked everywhere and tried googling so many things to find an answer to this problem but I can’t find any answers. My dog has anxiety and needs noise or he gets scared. If anyone can help that would be great !
when selecting "live tv" below the "home" option the remote just stops working, everything else works fine. can back out and go "home">"live tv" in apps and anything else. tried resetting it in software via the settings, unpluging it from wall, unpluging hdmi, checked for update. i'm stumped
I am strongly considering buying the 65'' Roku Pro Series Smart TV. I was looking into complementing the TV with a Roku sound system as well (Roku wireless soundbar + Bass Pro + Wireless Speakers) to get a 4.1 surround sound setup. However, after some research, it seems like using this Roku audio setup won't take advantage of the Dolby Atmos that the TV comes with. Is this true? Will this make a big difference and should I not use the Roku audio products with this TV because of that? Thank you.
Hey All! On an iPhone, Basically what the title says.
I used to have some manageable issues with the headphone mode in the roku upp but since the app has updated to it's new dark-purple UI, I've noticed that as soon as my phone goes to sleep or if I change apps, I can no longer hear any audio.
I'm working around this by just setting my phone to "Auto Lock > Never" but wondering if other people are having this issue, or found a better workaround that won't kill my battery?
I recently bought a DVD recorder that only records in 4:3, apparently. When I view the recording, the 16:9 source is obviously 'squeezed' into the 4:3 space.
The trouble is, I can't expand the picture by adjusting the Picture Size setting. In fact, none of the possible choices has any effect on the video at all. Am I missing something? Shouldn't 'Stretch' or 'Zoom' force more of the picture to fill the screen?
I'm using the AV input on a TCL 55" Roku TV, BTW.
My roku tv for some reason just went blank the red light still blinks so there’s no power issues and when I try to turn it on it acts like it’s going to work then just goes back to being a blank screen how can I fix this
Hi there!
So my brother installed a Roku on my moms tv and I noticed that there was a Hulu app icon so I logged into my account so she could watch Hulu.
I pay my for my Spotify+Hulu with my bank card
And apparently my brother’s credit card keeps getting charged $10 monthly for Hulu aswell, although he’s never signed up for Hulu. Any idea why this could possibly be?
Bought a brand new 70’’ ONN Roku TV. Out of box the remote doesn’t work and the tv is flashing red blinking lights.
What’s the fix? Thanks
It never did this before and I've had the Roku for 5 years or so. This seemed to coincide with the batteries going dead and being replaced. Now every time I turn on the unit and go to select media this graphic appears on the screen and pauses before I can select anything. The graphic looks like a fully charged battery. I've talked with technical support and they walked me through all these re-pairing and rebooting actions and none of it worked. They also recommended powering the Roku device to an AC adaptor rather than the built in USB port. I have a TV in another room that the Roku may be connected to an AC adaptor and it does not display the graphic as of now.
For anyone who has a Roku that doesn’t have Bluetooth headphone options.
I figured it out. So my parents need different volumes. So I got bluetooth speakers and I Downloaded Roku remote on both their phones. I connected the bluetooth speaker to my mom’s phone and my dad’s air pods to his. They both use private sound and my dad can control his volume on his AirPods. And my mom can control her volume in Bluetooth speaker or her headphones (what ever is connected.) both apps have to be open and private listening on.
Sounds great btw.
I just started getting the glitch where my app order is changing on its own. All posts say on the TCL tv’s there’s a section in the Home Screen settings for “app order” but my tv doesn’t have that at all. Is there a new way to fix this?
How do I shuffle my Favorite Album as my backdrop? I've tagged all my favorite pieces of artwork as "Favorites." When I turn off my tv, it will display one piece of artwork, and then scroll through all pieces by that artist (whether I favorited it or not). My tv displayed a painting of John The Baptist being beheaded today, and while my kids thought it was so cool, I'd rather just see my favorite works of art 😂
Sometimes, when booting up our Roku Element TV, the home screen will be a black screen, while you can still hear noises and make inputs. You can still launch into apps, and use the TV after launching into one. The "black screen" goes away once launched into an app. Any ideas way could be causing this to occur?
My Roku smart tv just displays the logo “ONN Roku” but it doesn’t go past that screen. I tried changing the remote batteries, factory resetting the tv, unplugging it and nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions? The tv is less than a year old and I no longer have the box to bring it back to the store. I’m disabled and on a fixed income so I can’t afford a new one. My dad called support and they won’t replace it since I don’t have the receipt.
I’ve read that Roku made the decision to display subscriptions based on when they were added rather than most watched or recently updated. Is there any way to feed back that they’ve made the app unusable for some users? I have a lot of subscriptions and I don’t want to cast from my phone just because some half witted exec made a decision to ruin the user experience? I’ve tried support but all of my devices “are not eligible for support”?
I've been running PLEX on this TCL Roku TV for four years. Recently -- without any hw or sw changes at all -- PLEX began freezing on loading any file, so I went through a long series of 'set everything to default,' update/delete/reinstall, etc. Now PLEX is functional on the TVs again -- but I can't restore it as a selection to the home screen. I find it in the Streaming Store, but the only selection there is "open PLEX"... leaving no new selection on the home screen. Any ideas?
I bought a new Roku because I’m staying at my sister’s house but her Wi-Fi is not working so I think that’s why the remote is not working but I was able to use my phone to change the settings but when I try to change the Wi-Fi, it logged me out and now I have no way of using my phone or the physical remote. How do I factory reset this thing it doesn’t have a pinhole it just has a restart button which I already tried to press and all it does is restart it not factory reset it. I literally just bought this like a week ago so I can’t just throw it away.
