amazon prime placeholder?

I received an email that says "This is a placeholder" according to it my membership will expire in "((daystoexpire)) days" *i found it weird that it doesn't have a number* and that I need to manage the subscription, but my membership was automatically renewed yesterday. Any thoughts on why I received the email? I checked my account and everything seems fine, the payment went through and they sent me my receipt yesterday.

“Shipping soon”

I placed an order that was supposed to be delivered October 29. Got the shipping confirmation but then on 10/29 I got an email saying it was delayed. The following day with no tracking info I decided to cancel it. Got an instant email reply saying it couldn’t be canceled because it was now in the process of shipping. Now it’s 11/2 and still hasn’t shipped and still won’t allow me to cancel. What’s even more infuriating it that it shows it’s in stock on the item page.

How many days does Amazon consider to be ”shipping soon”? It obviously isn’t as it’s been 4 days past when it was originally supposed to arrive. It pisses me off that it won’t allow me to cancel it and I’d rather just get it somewhere else.

Potential Price Drop for TCL QM7 on Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

Hey amazonprime community,

I'm currently eyeing the TCL QM7, which is priced at $499 right now. Do you think it will drop in price for Black Friday or Cyber Monday? I'm hoping to snag it at a better deal if possible. Any insights or predictions?

Thanks!

Bought a vacuum cleaner, received a clearly used one

I bought a new vacuum cleaner on Amazon, and when I opened it, the body was scratched and there was hair and other debris in the floor attachment. Not only that, it was supposed to come with some bags and they weren't there. While googling I saw that an LPN label signifies it's a return and it has one. What is going on with Amazon?

Help with damaged gift

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask, but I can't seem to find any sub reddit that fits. I got qla friend 2 books from her wishlist, for her birthday. She got the second book today, 1,5 weeks after the first one. The issue is that be book arrived severely damaged, like someone threw it out of a car at 60mph, got picked up and sold for market price just to mess with people. I did not buy it used, I bought it directly from Amazon and got it shipped to her. Now here's where I'm stumped. She lives in the US, and I live in Norway. The only thing Amazon . Com tells me to do, is to return the item, but the item is in North America, and I'm not. She didn't receive a gift recept either. Anyone with any ideas with how to solve this? There isn't a single email or a "contact Amazon directly" button anywhere I can find.

When should I expect the best Black Friday deal

I saw they started with some early deals like 14% off an iPad but I’m wondering if I should wait longer in case there’s a bigger discount

refund being taken

I ordered an item and it missed the delivery date. I called amazon, they issued a refund and said if item shows up don't worry about returning it. Now i have an email stating they are going to charge me if I don't return it. I'm on the phone now with them and they don't seem to understand that the previous agent told me not to worry about the return and even emailed that to me. I have zero confidence in Amazons ability to effectively handle orders and not over charge, double charge etc. Will be keeping my purchases to 100 or less and looking to buy local. Even if it's walmart.

Is my order coming today?

It’s already almost 12PM and it’s supposed to be here today and hasn’t even shipped yet. It also does not say it’s even preparing to ship, so it’s not even close to the shipping process. Why is it late? Isn’t this a guaranteed delivery date?

Amazon sent me the wrong return address

I am in so much stress. I am a broke college student and used money I saved up to buy a nice desk. I signed up for their card and everything to get a nice discount. It was 800$ I bought a new bed frame too and I realized the desk wouldn’t fit with my new bed. I tried to cancel the order but it was too late.

The package came. I didn’t even open it since I knew I’d return it. The seller did NOT and would NOT provide a free shipping label. I was told by Amazon to use AMAZONS LABEL and pay the costs out of pocket. The shipping was 600$!!!! I paid it nonetheless with the AMAZON PROVIDED LABEL. Given the title, you can guess what happened. The seller is denying the refund because it’s at the wrong address, Amazon won’t pay the shipping costs until the item is delivered. I’m down 1400$. I’m crying because that is almost half of my savings. They said they have filed a claim with another department but the same old “72 hours wait” shit. I’ve been dealing with this for almost a month of back and forth and atp I’m really worried because I’m having to make payments on the debt for an item I don’t have.

Please I need advice. My family is recommending smalls claims court or something.

Refund-prime?

Amazon prime has become a joke. We pay money for a service that we don’t receive. I am going on three weeks on multiple orders that had two day shipping. Reaching out you get the awful AI chat bot. It appears impossible to even reach a human.

Amazon Household - can you add multiple people?

Is it only possible to link one other account to your own? or can I do more somehow

Can each member of my family make their own amazon accounts and link them to mine so we share the prime subscription without being able to see eachother's purchase histories?

Why would a remote, gated community get 1 day delivery, but a suburb to a large city takes a minimum of 3 days?

I lived in a gated community (vacation homes, mostly) in the middle of a state forest for several months. You need a gate pass to access homes, there's only one road in, and only about 25% of these homes even have long term residents. I couldn't get food delivered, but I could order on Amazon and get things within 36 hours or so. It seemed nuts to me, but I took advantage because the nearest grocery store was 30 minutes away.

Now I live in a small town that's next to a pretty large city (half a million). I can't get anything delivered in less than 3 days, and most things take 5-7. I'm genuinely confused about this. If I try to find an Amazon locker that's actually in the city, they have the same delivery times.

What's the delivery time based on, anyway? Is it proximity to a warehouse or distribution center? Is there anything I can do?

Video Password & Main Account

My teenage daughter wants to log in to our prime video account, which is fine except I don't want to give her the password for the amazon account proper as she'd be able to see the data there.

Is there any way of setting a different passwords for prime video & amazon shopping?

I've already got her Mum on the amazon household so can't add link her also to sign in with her own account.

Any ideas? Amazon's help services are useless.

Amazon's cs became the worst-ever customer service

I live outside the US.

A month ago I placed an order for an electric kettle and the order came 2 weeks later. upon reading the manual I connected it to the electricity only to see shown on display "E2" error which according to the manual means it's faulty defective item. I tried to contact the manufacture with no response on email and phone.

Today I contacted Amazon in the chat for this issue, explaining them I don't only want a return but a replacement. no matter what they didn't want to help with replacement or sending a new item. I then offered they would initiate a return (even I didn't want it to cause a problem with return rates) and meanwhile I'll place a new order and pay for it but I asked them to help me with faster shipping and also stated that the price was 10$ less while I placed the order.

They didn't care, I've been transferred today from maybe 12 agents with no earlier notice. just suddenly disconnected. I then phone called to Amazon paying for the high cost calls abroad, I was talking to a REALLY rude guy there who told me there's no possibilities from his side and just jumped to "if there's nothing else I would hang up the phone now".

I was shocked and asked for a supervisor and he just HANGED UP the phone. I contacted again and a nice lady answered and offered to help as she understood. she puts me on hold for 15 mins while were waiting for some expertise team and the call got disconnected. no one contacted me back.

I tried again a few times with chat and again just being transferred from one to another suddenly. it's seems like a systematic method to not hurt their rates. this is RIDICULOUS! This is a shame for a company who once was and known as the best-ever customer service. this is just a shame. I've never encountered such a treat as a customer.

TLDR:

Received a defective product. Amazon could only initiate a return, no help with replacement or faster shipping, no help with changed price. Just being transffered all-day from one agent to another as what seems like a systematic method to not hurt their assistant's rates. on call I've been hanged up and no matter what don't take their word for granted.

WORST-EVER CS.

Can I Cancel Prime Account For 1 Country But Not Another?

I have a Prime account in the US that is paid annually which I want to keep.

There was a point where I was shipping things to people in Canada, so I signed up for a monthly Prime account on amazon.ca.

I no longer need the Canadian Prime account and want to cancel it, but I want to keep my Prime subscription in the US. Will cancelling one affect the other?

Is anyone else having issues with their grocery deliveries?

Lately I have had a string of problems with my grocery orders. Many times items will be damaged, missing, or dirty. Recently, a driver delivered my order to another house and I never got my stuff. Each time I've called customer service they transfer me multiple times just send me an email asking for more info and I'm ultimately never refunded. I pay for the grocery description and I don't think it's worth it anymore because if I run into a problem then I'm up the creek without a paddle. Amazon evidently doesn't care about rectifying the issue. They seem content to cause me to waste but my time and my money.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced this? I'm really dissatisfied with the customer service and delivery service as a whole. I'm lucky now if I don't get someone who is blatantly rude or dismissive or who cares a dime about what they put in my grocery bags.

Subscribe and Save - consistent unresolved problems

Subscribe and Save - consistent unresolved problems

How is it that I am giving Amazon literally months of lead time on Subscribe and Save orders and then monthly multiple items just don't show up? How is this even possible?!?!? How are you out of stock on something that I have ordered from you 30+ days ago??? And you tell me that you are out of stock two weeks after it's supposed to be here?

It's multiple items, every. single. month.

2 Day Shipping no longer available?

Does anyone know if the Southern areas of the East coast are not doing 2 day prime shipping anymore due to all of the hurricane damages or is my particular area just having slow deliveries? I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just curious if it's just me. I hope anyone who has been impacted by Helen or Milton are doing okay.

Trying to take amazon to court. Maybe there is potential for class action?

So. Im in the early stages. Basically amazon keeps delivering to the same wrong address, one which is effectively inaccessible to me (not my address and its very unsafe with potential for deadly violence) i have explained this to them, and why, and they continually deliver to the wrong address. Most deliveries go there the first time. I have to spend hours even days in chats or on the phone with people only to be told to fill out a form and wait. All this after amazon has already taken the delivery photo showing a red house with a wooden porch whereas my delivery notes clearly say it is a yellow house with a concrete porch. Not to mention often times during all this in the first few chats or calls someone at the bottom offers me something like a refund and extra ama!on credit and then doesnt give it to me, only for later agents to refuse to give that too. Googles Gemini ai (which consistently does better on bar exams than top harvard graduates) says i may have a case of failure to perform and breach of implied warranty of merchantibility by failing to deliver to the correct address. There may be issue called "Dark Patterns" with the cuatomer service too. So...i just sent it to a lawyer to see if they think i have a case. Im trying to help bolster my case and also gage the chance for a class action suit. I have experience in this (and won) and im too pissed to let it go at this point. Has anyone else had regular/chronic/repeated problems with amazon?

Signed up for a free trial and letting it run out. Lead times of 10+ days on too many things. WTF is the point of paying for Prime?! (This was shipped/sold by Amazon too!)

Not a Prime Member

I ordered a battery to install for someone. I knew when I ordered it, the delivery date was for 10 days out. Amazon never shipped the time until the delivery date. Chat tells me that they will refund once it is received. Now they won't and they are telling me that I am not a Prime member... maybe that is why I cannot get anything delivered in less than a week on their site.

Happened right after my last promised “same day delivery” showed up a day late again.

The somewhat newly introduced Customer Video Reviews are USELESS Trash

Am I the only one who completely HATES Amazon's introduction of user generated video reviews. It is just millions of users looking for clicks while uploading basic unboxing videos of products that they have not bothered to even try out. The only thing the so-called reviews do is completely piss me off while adding ZERO to the dialogue. What a gigantic glut of useless garbage piled high, and taking up even more scrollable product page space. Amazon has done a reasonably good job of scrubbing their platform of price gougers and bribe-induced fake positive reviews. If anyone has time, try shopping for anything using Walmart+. Within seconds of shopping for something as simple as Progresso soup, you will find listings for 38¢ Progressive cans that have $17.99 shipping on a 38¢ can. I call Walmart Customer Service and am greeted by agents not listening to a legitimate concern, or telling me that there is nothing that they can do about it. I'm left with just telling Walmart's untrained CS Agents that Amazon is eating Walmart's lunch, and that Walmart will soon go away after customers slowly get scammed, and have to take their valuable time to get a refund from Walmart Customer Service, when Walmart could simply scrub the website of predatory scumbags.

Address change

Is anyone else having issues with changing addresses when shipping? I recently sent my friend something after a death and then changed it back to my address for default address. I ordered something and it changed back to her address and I didn't notice so she got all my random packages. This has happened to me once before too and to a family member as well.

Done

I am so done with Amazon. Earlier this year I canceled my Prime and was still ordering when I had enough for free shipping. Last week I dropped off three packages at a UPS drop box which I’ve done hundreds of times but for some reason they never got scanned. Now I’m in a loop between UPS and Amazon. UPS won’t file a claim until Amazon contacts them and Amazon won’t contact UPS. And that was my last straw. I took every item within my return window and brought it to a UPS store so I have a receipt, filed a complaint with the BBB against both companies, if that doesn’t work I’ll dispute with my bank. But I am not giving Amazon a dime of my money ever again. Oh and I almost forgot, when contacting them they decided to flag my account or something and then made me submit a copy of my ID before they’d even help me. I really think they were just trying to make me tired of dealing with it so I’d let them keep my money. But I am not the one. I once contacted the attorney general after trying to get $30 back from emergency dental. I’m not just handing my money out to these thieves.
