I’m trying to cut the cord, I’m currently in the process of selecting my antenna/amplifier configuration and would like your opinion on my setup.
I currently got a few cheap antennas:
NOUATA Modern Indoor TV Antenna: https://a.co/d/akrEgzy
GE Loop Rabbit Ears: https://a.co/d/bvBF1Kg
HIDB TV Antenna: https://a.co/d/eUxzYtJ
The rabbit antenna was the worst so far. The Nouata and the HIDB are giving me close results (HIDB slightly better).
I’m not using the Nouata amplifier, just the cheap antenna.
I also bought a channel master amplifier 7779HD: https://a.co/d/8Cs6Fqv
The reason for the amplifier is because the antenna is in my attic and I’m powering two TVs in different places of the house, the distance from the antenna to the TVs is around the 30-40ft (cable runs to basement and goes back up).
The antenna is placed on my window that is facing around north (0N).
I’m also running a Moca on the same coax cables - apparently this is not causing problems.
This is my channel scan info: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1337464
Overall I’m having good results but PBS and ABC are not stable if the weather changes. I noticed both are VHF so that’s probably why the other channels are better.
What can I do better on this setup? Does the channel master makes sense here or would there be an antenna with a built-in amplifier that could replace it?
Unfortunately an external antenna is not an option for me. :(
I love my Roku Ultra, but I just end up surfing my apps endlessly one at a time while forgetting about series I'm in the middle of on other apps. Does Fire or Apple TV have more integration? I'd love any kind of grouped watchlist, but I'd settle for a recently watched/continue where u left off/up next.
My parents need to cut the cord. They currently have Spectrum which is too expensive and terribly unreliable.
I am asking for recommendations as I care most about the UI. That is hard to figure out from product web sites.
I am looking at Roku, Tivo, DirectTV (without the dish)?; really anything.
Here is my criteria, in order:
Other details:
Nothing if going to fit all this, but if you feel you have experience with a product close or best, I would love to hear from you? Or others trying to help seniors.
Thank you!
Hello, I've grown so aggravated trying to stream college baseball. (Specifically Florida State). I don't have cable or satellite TV just streaming services such as Fubo, netlfix, Hulu. Fubo has some college games but hardly ever FSU. ESPN+ requires cable or tv service to get access to ACC Network Extra that most there games are on. Just reaching out if anyone else knows a way to stream them. Anything is greatly appreciated!!
https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1335671
As you can see, nothing is in “good” signal strength range, and all “fair” options are around me in almost all directions - meaning I don’t know which way to point an antenna.
Any help would be appreciated!
I am trying to decided between HD homerun Quatro or a Tablo gen 4, or a cheap 25 dollar one from Walmart.
My ,ain't question is will either of the above support Atsc 3 and will that actually be a good thing with all the DRM talk. Will the drm allow Recording to self destruct or prevent watching them on my computer and taking screenshots for art reference?
Any advice?
My main issue is cost I don't want to buy an expensive machine if it will be redundant soon.
Edited to turn Demons back to DRM.
After the last Super Ball I fell in love with American football, and im looking for a streamer so I could watch live games as well as past games to catch up with the game. Anyone have any recommendations? (Im living outside the US)
I have Comcast / Xfinity internet only plan for $50 per month. I checked my internet speeds and this is what I am getting: 555.8 Mbps download / 23.7 Mbps upload. It only my wife and me. YouTube TV, two phones, sometimes a Chromebook, TV downstairs connected but usually not used and Alexa with one smartbulb.
I see Comcast is offering a NOW internet only plan of 100 Mbps DL and 11.68 Mbps upload for $30 per month. This is not an introductory rate. Should I save $20 a month with the 100 Mbps which seems like it should work fine for us or keep the $50 a month plan with blazing speed which may or may not benefit us? What say you, oh wise cordcutters?
Does any streaming service offer this channel? I've looked everywhere and I cannot find the wonderful relaxing classical music that is Mezzo + Mezzo Live.

Edit: Molotov.TV offers it. If I find any others I'll add them.
Sorry for an obvious question, but I’m new. There are a few sports and teams I like. But trying to match up what I want with the packages available is a real challenge cause the services are so dastardly. I wanted to watch the Celtics playoffs. I googled and found several options. Some have some playoff games but not all; depends on the day, location, phase of the moon and if my dog is in heat. Finally settled on Fubo who played 2 games then stopped; I cancelled them.
I like pro tennis, golf, the Tour de France, Buffalo Bills, maybe the Olympics (unless it’s 50% sappy stories) and maybe ugh pickleball. I like the Celtics now cause they’re so good, but not that big a fan of basketball. I realize I can’t have it all and just hoping for 70% success.
My question is a process one (though if there’s an answer, great). Do I just write out what I want on a spreadsheet, then have multiple columns to the right showing what the different services provide?
Are there websites that do this (or AI)? The ones I found are completely unreliable.
And to state something even more obvious, trying to follow just about anything has become insane.
I've tried Crunchyroll, however, if you want to watch English dubs of anime, you need a premium account.
So, are there other free legal sites to stream English dubbed anime without paying for an account?
Thanks.
Anytime there's an announcement regarding any streaming service now you'll see comments filled with:
A: "There's too many streaming services! Not everything needs a service!"
or when some of these services merge or offer bundles
B: "Welcome to cable!!" "They've reinvented cable!!"
So I ask those that have either (or both) of these opinions, if it were up to you, what would the market look like? Only 4-5 services total? No bundle deals? Really interested to hear.
Looking at setting up a plex server at the around this location so as to get my NFL on. That said I need FOX, NBC, CBS, and some ABC wouldn't be bad.
Everything looks great to me for an outdoor antenna... this should pull in quite well, weather-be-damned, yeah? Thanks for your opinion and suggestions on an antenna is, of course, quite welcome.
Hello all!,
Looking to replace FuboTV with a combination of streaming services as it is costing me basically $100 at this point. I want to watch for sure watch the following:
Premier League
European competitions (UCL, UEL, etc.)
Euros, FIFA World cup, Copa America.
I am not the most savvy with this stuff, so apologies in advance for any silly questions.
My mom pays some absurd amount (160 something a month) for Xfinity cable and DVR. She likes the DVR portion but only watches some news channels, Food Network, and HGTV. I am floored by the amount that she pays for what daily use she gets out of it, and am hoping to help her find an alternative.
The 2 main options that seem attractive are SlingTV and Tablo. Sling seems pretty simple to understand, sign up for their service, get the channels offered in the local area. Seems like based on her zip code, she would get everything she needs. Are there any major downsides to this service? Anything you would highlight?
Tablo seems a little more complex, if someone could help me understand it in layman's terms. Seems like you pay once for an antenae and that's it? Tried doing some research but wasn't fully understanding.
Also, she has 100mb/s internet speed, but could probably upgrade with the money she's saving if necessary for either of these to work well.
Any and all insight or thoughts appreciated. Just trying to take care of Mama as best I can. Thanks in advance!!
Random question but does anyone know or recall if they did any kind of a Black Friday deal for an annual sub?
I just upgraded my roof antenna to a Range Xperts XPS-1500 Insane Gain antenna and installed the Televes TForce Mast Amp and I noticed my ATSC 3.0 channels are showing up as Dolby Vision on my A80K and they look great
Here is my rabbit ears link: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1333982 We're not really far from Cleveland, but far enough that Im worried about distances.
What I really want to pick up is WKYC, WJW, and WOIO. If I got those 3 only, I'd be happy. Planning to install in our attic. We have a 1 story elevated ranch. The roof is 1/2 inch plywood with typical shingles.
Will this do the job? From reading the sticky, I'm going to try first without the pre-amp. Only running to 1 tv. https://store.antennasdirect.com/clearstream-max-v-hdtv-antenna.html
If not, what would be a better option?
Thanks.
Continuous spikes in charges and I was done. I’m kept internet and added Comcast Xumo. But not sure I even need it or want the Xumo. I’m paying $99/ month for internet and $20/ mo for two Xumo boxes. Is anyone getting it cheaper? I was paying $330/month to Comcast alone. Home security was $50 (which we never used).
I signed up for Hulu live tv plus for $79.99 (because I do like like tv) and my husband doesn’t want to lose red zone. Since I was already paying for Max, Netflix, Prime, Paramount + w/showtime, Disney and peacock. Well over $400/mo for TV….what a stupid idiot!!!.
Any suggestions on how to save more$$$???
Other than just cancelling Disney and peacock individually-since they are now included…any advice would be appreciated.

Suggestions? Fox especially doesn’t come in well and is annoying because they have a lot of the NFL games we watch
