Is there anywhere to get explanations to the random navigation icons that appear sometimes? I get the football 🏈 while watching football, etc. But, last night watching SNL the icon was what appeared to be a cheese grater and I can't for the life of me understand why?

I know YouTube tv doesn’t do gift cards but could I buy him a Google play gift card or something of that sort?

Playing around with the library trying to figure out all the functionality and I have questions. On the ATV I added Saturday Night Live to the library. On my iPad, when I look in the library and select SNL, I can see options for all 50 seasons, but on the ATV, it only shows one season. Is that a sync issue of some type? Am I doing something wrong?

Why am I getting this message on any app on lg tv or fire tv stick tonight? Tried uninstall multiple times. Also can’t login with any account on YouTube non tv. What’s going on?

As recently as a few weeks ago, I was able to long press a channel and select a watch in multi view and it would give me a series of prebuilt ones I could choose from. I tried that today and it seems to be gone. Did they remove this option?

I’ve researched and googled and Wikipedia and searched Reddit and I just can’t seem to figure out how to watch the season premiere of gold rush on discovery channel. I have the discovery channel. I have it set to record. But the seasons are not correct. Season 15 is the newest 2024 season but YouTube has 6 episodes for season 15 and they are definitely from 2023 not 2024. And there is no way to watch the premiere from 11/8/2024. Does anyone have a clue? I’ve tried all the seasons and the extras and it just doesn’t seem to exist.

When I’m watching a game and press the scores & stats button, there’s no ‘scores’ just ‘key plays’. I go into settings for teams or leagues and ‘show scores’ is selected. I have a Hisense U7N with built in Google TV. How do I get scores to show?

I seldom watch sports. Maybe a college game once in a while. I do though spend lots of time watching News multiview.

Right now there are multiple college football games multivews in the "Top picks for you" section. I'm not interested in any of them. But if I want to open News multiview I have to, as always, scroll down down down to the "Watch in multiview" section, hope that News is listed (refresh the Home screen if it isn't) and open it that way.

Is there some contractual thing going on that prevents that from listing it as a "top pick"? Technically could they allow the multiview to appear as a channel so it could be listed in the guide?

Am I the only person who was been watching football this season on the SEC network and the audio is terrible? I feel like it's 95' and I'm watching a VHS of a movie I recorded off the TV!

This is an issue with YouTube.tv, but for context, YouTube is also affected by the root cause.

Overview:

In the past 48 hours, videos on www.youtube.com randomly would not load. Then, in the last 24 hours, we could not watch any videos from www.youtube.tv (the error message, 'this context isn't available'). I contacted support (worthless), and I am sure it's AI (again no help). Web searches have been excused (gotta love the 'how to fix video display problem with a video').

Problem statement:

Video content will not play from either www.youtube.tv or www.youtube.com

Environment:

1. Multiple web browsers (edge, firefox, chrome), and download apps.
2. Multiple devices (computer, laptop, smart TV, iPad, iPhone).
3. Multiple ISPs (Comcast, Verizon).

Test:

1. Create a dummy@Gmail.com account
2. login into www.youtube.com and try
3. Log in to www.youtube.tv, which gives accounts for free 20 min.

This worked for me (and others in the Reddit universe)

Yeah, I could fire up a new account and re-create everything, but I am paying for a Sunday NFL ticket (because, as a Dallas Cowboys fan, I am sadomasochistic).

EDIT: This was a curiosity question, not a troubleshooting question. Also not really interested in the virtues of using external streaming devices vs smart TV app. Just curious why two of the EXACT SAME VERSION on the same TV webOS are displaying different behaviors.

Just noticed something very strange that makes me curious. I have two 2023 LG OLED TVs (G3 & C3) in my house. Both TVs have the same version of the YTTV app installed from the LG App Store. When grandkids come over, they like to watch the Three Stooges shows, so I added it to my profile Library 6 months ago. There's at least 3 dozen episodes in the library that have been recorded. Both TVs show the correct number of episodes recorded and on the G3, all the episodes are marked as watched (which is where they always watch them). However on the C3, only about 25% of the episodes are marked as watched. Why doesn't the C3 also show all the episodes as watched? Technically, the app is pulling the same data from the same source, right?

Why oh why in 2024 almost 2025 (hoverboards, flying cars and space lasers were the expectation for reference) do we have a internet tv service from a multi billion dollar company that advertises unlimited DVR that is more headache to use than its worth?! I don't want to watch episodes that I havent recorded, why are they grouped in with my recordings??? Oh and if I want to watch those episodes they are locked behind a sub plan to another internet tv service! What a joke! Oh I can type "(insert program name here) DVR" but typing something like "the walking dead DVR" or "Mecum Auto Auctions Dallas 2024 DVR" on a tv remote is cumbersome at times and downright hellful busy work the other, and it has to be 100% right, down to the letter!!!

Multivew?

My wife and I went to watch our recording of Greys Anatomy on ABC tonight and we have an audio description that we can’t turn off! I’ve tried changing audio to the secondary and it doesn’t work. I checked the settings on my tv and the audio/video description setting is turned off. This is super annoying! Is there any way to fix this?? We use a Vizio soundbar as well

We’ve reset the TV (LG), powered off and on, TV location matches YTTV location and it’s showing 11:22 am when it’s 10:09 pm. We’re stumped.

The guide is showing stuff on at the AM time but the live shows are showing correctly.

One of the screens is just plain black. It's the same for both the 2 game and 3 game mulitiview option. Have tried it on Roku, Firestick & Google TV devices and they all have same issue.

So I signed up for YTTV last night and invited my family. It works fine for me, but when my wife, who accepted my invitation goes to log in, the system doesn’t recognize her being in my family. Once she logs in, it offers her a Free Trial and suggests she has to buy the base plan. I called support and they had to escalate. I then asked my daughter, who is currently not in the Home Area to try, and she is faced with the same thing. Wants her to buy a plan.

Anyone have these experiences?

ETA: just got it figured out. Even though I was already sharing things, there was one more share button in the process that initially didn’t make sense to hit, that I hit and solved it. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It seemed to have been finally working for a few months. But with the latest update it seemed to take it away again. Is anyone else having this issue? It makes me think the background play was enabled on accident on their end and they “fixed” it.

When are we getting a "Live" button for the app (on a TV). I use a Roku, you can click live when you are watching on a web browser, but nothing I can find on the TV app. Not looking for a work around, IE going to last channel and back..

I'm asking Santa for a live button this year. Hope I'm not on the naughty list...

We switched to YouTube TV a couple of months ago and it's definitely better (and much cheaper) than Comcast was. However, the sound is very inconsistent. When we're watching regular, broadcast TV it's fine, but if we watch something we've recorded, it's usually so quiet we can barely hear it even turned way up, and, of course, the commercials come on blaring. We also have that issue when we watch a streaming service like Hulu.

We use a Roku ultra for streaming. Would a Roku soundbar help with this issue? Thank you.

I recently bought a 2024 Roku ultra and I'm a subscriber to YTTV. There is a setting called "autoplay on start" that no matter if I set it on or off, YTTV always starts streaming something as soon as I open the app. Anyone know how I can disable this setting and have it remembered?

At least on Android TV the progress bar is a light purple at the end. I saw this and had a heart attack that my OLED panel was failing. What a terrible design choice!

Does anyone else have this same issue. I “record” shows I like to watch and I see that they come on, but can never find them when ready to watch.

Trying to sign up and setup my parents for YTT, away from their home market. Is this allowed and are there any known issues (i.e. blocked local channels) until they log in from their home market in ~14 days?

I've been back and forth with customer service for weeks and the issue remains. Hoping that u/TeamYouTube will see this and help me get it sorted out.

I know this has been asked several times in the past and I've been able to hide the channels from my guide. Even though I've done this, shows from these channels are still being recommended and shown to me on the Top Picks section. Do I just need to keep playing whack-a-mole and pressing "not interested in this" every half our or so to make them leave me alone?

Pardon if this sounds bizarre, but for you WWE fans using YTTV, can you confirm no issues with DVRing Raw and Smackdown? I am a Sling user and for weeks they've had issues with their DVRs properly capturing certain live shows live WWE (but others too). There's a post over in the Sling subreddit. As usual Sling's customer service is pathetic and not helpful....but apparently there's a rumor on Twitter that the networks are asking services like Sling to stop their shows from being DVRable, that way they can boost the live rating? IDK.

Anyways, I canceled Sling and need somewhere to go to watch WWE. Hoping YTTV is the easy answer.

So recently, when watching basketball, whenever I pause the game a score window will pop up to the right. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? I’ve already hit the hide all scores button, but I want the score window to not show up at all.
