Pet sitting question

I am 16 years old and looking into looking after reptiles for people. I have experience with working at a reptile shop where we also do boarding for people that are going away and need their animals to be looked after. I regularly have to set up enclosures, feed and give fresh water to animals everyday, I also handle some pretty defensive animals and think that i would do well with looking after them. My question is, Theoretically or if you do have a pet reptile and are going away would you trust a 16 year old with looking after it?

Reptile hammock 🐍

Hi so, I made this hammock for my snake because every hammock I seen online was too small. Just wondering if anyone would buy these if I started making and selling them on Etsy or somewhere else? I could do custom colours and sizes. Here’s a pic of the one I made:

Help plz

My little man is shedding for the first time and is having trouble. Any tips? I think he’s starting to get a little stressed. Tried soaking him in a lukewarm bath and gently rub him with our fingers and a washcloth. The bath helped a bit. Should I do that again? I know he probably needs more humidity, I’m guilty for that but I’m working on it. Do babies usually struggle the first time? (This is Kismet)

Finally got the tank I needed for my skink, she'll be living comfortably now

Had her in a 10 gallon for a while. She's an adult now, so she's been needing this bigger tank. It's a 30 gallon (10 gallons more than the minimum) and I'm currently looking for a lid.

Finding this size tank has been a NIGHTMARE. I haven't been able to find a tank this size for less than $349, which is way too expensive.

I live rural and I don't have fish stores or reptile stores really. All we have here is an ace hardware that sells pets and some pet supplies.

Today is the big day to move her and I'm honestly a little nervous. I hope she doesn't make a run for it during the transition

Reptiles with similar temperament to ball python

Hi everyone! So I’m looking into getting my first reptile soon and I love the ball python personality and how they will just chill with you while you’re doing something. They are too big for me to have right now since they need a large enclosure and I don’t have the space for it. Is there a smaller reptile that could fit in something like a 55g (just a general size could also be taller. I just don’t have a ton of floor space) or smaller that has a similar temperament? I know each animal has a different personality but I would love to have something that I could take out while I was watching a show and just relax with. Thanks for your time!

Clear Dap 230 curing on enclosure

Hi! I just got a pvc enclosure and caulked it on Friday, the cure time is 7-14 days, but it's been 48 hours and it's almost all clear. Should I wait the whole week? Or would it be okay to wait until it's all clear? (Which may be tomorrow)

I'm just really excited to get it all set up for my lil guy 😁

Thank you!

Snake questions

Hello! First time posting on here so I’m sorry if it’s odd wording or whatevaaa! :)

So, I’ve had my ball python for 5 1/2years and she’s about 4-5ft and my tank size is 75 long. Recently I’ve been thinking about getting another ball python but I’m curious to know if you can house two ball pythons together? I’ve tried looking it up on google/safari and it says both yes and no but it also said with the right tank size it could be done. I’m not like determined to get another ball python but it’s been a thought for a minute but if it’s gonna cause stress or they will injure each other I’m not gonna put her through that. She’s a pretty chill snake she has a good temperament but snakes are solitary so idk.

Iris letting me pet her

Petting Iris in her enclosure, she's good when I handle her, but I tend to leave her alone in her enclosure but decided to see how she's react in her enclosure (her winter enclosure, her normal enclosure is outside) the hissing in the background is my 2nd caiman, Paarthurnax, waiting for me to leave, bc he hasn't gotten conformable enough to eat in front of me like Iris has, so he was just watching me with food in his mouth 🤣.

Why do you love reptiles?

I am considering getting a reptile. I saw these cresties at a chain pet store. The associate told me they have been there for months. They are rescues at this point. My brother kept lizards when we were younger and I found them fascinating and loved them and fed them occasionally, but I don't know what it's like to keep a reptile permanently.

Tell me why you keep reptiles and what you love about them. Thanks.

What reptile should i get ?

I recently received a glass terrarium as a gift, and I’m really excited to set it up! The dimensions are 1.20 m in height, 70 cm in length, and 70 cm in width, giving me plenty of space to create a beautiful habitat. My plan is to design a tropical setup with lush plants, branches, and a naturalistic environment.

As for the inhabitant, I’d love to get a diurnal reptile, possibly a lizard, that thrives in a warm and humid climate. Since I already have experience with reptiles—owning three ball pythons, as well as insects and a frog—I feel confident in providing the right care. Now, I just need to decide which species would be the perfect fit for my new tropical enclosure!

Of course, I’m familiar with reptiles like chameleons or day geckos, but I’m looking for something more unique. I want a special reptile that is visually stunning yet not venomous. It should be a species that thrives in a tropical environment and is enjoyable to observe during the day. Since I already have experience with reptiles, I’m excited to find the perfect fit for my new terrarium!

Need help

I just got two leopard geckos from my brother, having them both kept in the same tank and being a breeding pair I was told to keep them together. The female is in pretty bad shape cause she can’t hunt as well as the male can so she needs to put on weight. I just need advice as I’m bringing them home now and unsure of what to do.

should I get an african fat tail gecko or a snake?

for snakes, my choice would be either a rosy boa, ball python, or a russian sand boa. I like some of the new caledonian gecko species, but my enclosure isn't tall enough (4x2x2). I would prefer a reptile that I can handle sometimes. obviously temperaments vary, so i am aware that regardless of species, i may end up with a pet that doesn't tolerate handling well, which is okay. i'm just looking for opinions on if i should get an AFT or one of the snake species I listed above. if anyone has experience with multiple/all of these species and can offer advice, that would be great!
