It's Wednesday
I live in Brazil and it is very common to find other types of amphibian species, but this one has been practically impossible to find.
I've been looking for this frog for a few years, I looked in some authorized stores but without success. Is this species authorized in Brazil? Does anyone know where I can find it?
As the title says
My mum was a severe ranidaphobe, like as in she would avoid going out at night because there was a small chance she’d see a frog. Or she wouldn’t let me and my siblings use public toilets until we were old enough to go in unassisted because there might be a frog in the toilet.
As a result, my siblings and I grew up petrified of them. But my two year old has now started to slowly but surely show reservation towards them and I really do not want him to have that fear instilled in him. Could you guys tell me some fun frog facts that he might enjoy about them and that might give me a lil kick?
Realistically I know they’re harmless but my brain has been accustomed to feel horrified when I see them.
Agalychnis dacnicolor
I have 5 of these guys, they have been with me for the past 5 years. At the time I got them they were already big so I don’t have any idea how much time they will be with me but, for now is my safe space, I really like to just watching them going around in the terrarium.
Lenny like 👁️👄👁️
So my ABF decided to completely bury himself in soil on feeding day, and to make things worse, he hates being dug up, my attempts to do so are usuallyv met with him puffing up like a balloon, followed by hissing and growling (sounds a first time or non-ABF owner doesn't even realize are possible for a frog to make, b and sometimes snapping
If he's buried deep enough, I basically have to dig down in the dirt and guess which side is his back side and which side is the head and hope I'm right, if I get it wrong, that means no less than 20 lbs of pressure and needle sharp teeth clamped down on my finger
Just wondering if there is any easier ways to do this
South Texas near San Antonio. He's a frog for sure just jot sure what
Sadly this is the best picture I could take, it was moving so the arms look weird.
It had two light yellow lines that ran across it’s torso and the legs were a reddish orange with darker spots. Spotted in Panama, at around 600 m of altitude in a very humid tropical forest.
My albino African clawed frog has been lethargic the past couple days and isn't eating right He's been stretched out and has a red spot on his head that isn't normal please anything anyone knows to help I really don't wanna lose him
Hi, my green & golden bell frog who normally eats every 2-3 days hasn’t eaten in 9 days now. I’m getting concerned!! I’ve tried tong feeding him, too, and he opens his mouth once or twice but misses the food and then gives up.
Another perfect frog
My little dude Keroppi was just fine yesterday/last night, but I came home and saw him sitting at the bottom of his terrarium. I mist daily, have a heat lamp for winter as it gets cold here in NJ(Which was turned off up until now, I just realized how cold it was in here all day which I didn’t anticipate on) he ate 4 Dubia roaches last night as usual, rehydrated in his water(it is dechlorinated) He does look a bit skinny which I’m not sure why, he’s been eating and sitting in his water normally. Is he ok? I’m really concerned about him because this was just sudden:( (Substrate is also usually not this dry, I did not get a chance to give it moisture as I was in a rush this morning)
Every year I get thousands of western chorus frogs in my outdoor pond in the spring. I live in western Canada so it can get pretty cold in the winter. Aside from that, someone has asked me if I could raise 4-5 of them in a 50g tank. I'm familiar with reptiles and I have a pixie frog, however I know they are very different. What would be the best way to keep these frogs happy in captivity? I would raise the tadpoles into frogs so that I don't take the adults away from the Habitat they're familiar with, however I want them to be the happiest. I'm only going to be doing this in the spring when the tadpoles hatch ofcourse, but what would be the best way to go about this? I did some research on tree frogs for the substrate, UVB etc, but I thought I should ask the community.
Just wanted to show off my cute little Jelli. This is the best pic o have of her 😊
