I need advice on buying new HOTAS + VR ON AMAZON SALE OCTOBER 8, OCTOBER 9. I am on a budget so can’t just buy all top of line stuff. MOSTLY DCS USE, but I play other games now and then.
OPEN TO USED "LIKE NEW OFFERS!" (this post is similar to one i posted in DCS)
I ask because I want to make sure everything keeps working and I don’t buy something expensive that later on has no use since I am planning to buy an H3 DOFreality then move up to an H6 someday.
Current H/W-
I’m a big fan of FORCE FEED and am sold on VR, although iu understgand my 3070 aint good enough bu ti cant jsutify buying a 3090 right now :'(
Planning to buy the following-
Questions- (again I’m on a relatively tight budget for now, although can progressively buy stuff over time)
Is the Winwing THROTTLE worth it? considering I won’t be able to see it in VR especially all the switches.
Is there another brand or version you’d recommend that it’s cheaper since switches might not be visible (yes I’m aware that there is a way to pass through video, but I understand. It’s pretty Janky for now.)
I was thinking about maybe buying a mini gaming, keyboard, controller and using in conjunction with the old throttle for now. (https://a.co/d/4lO3ljv)
ANY AND ALL ECONOMICAL RECOMMENDATIONS, OPTIONS, OFFERS etc WELCOME.
Does anyone know if Winwing offers Winter sales? I just wonder if I should get my gear now or later.
call me crazy but to elaborate there are three main reasons why i dont want to upgrade to a fancy flight stick.
the 3d pro looks at home with my logitech equipment on my desk.
the 3d pro is comfortable and familer to me and i like the buttons.
the 3d pro is set to be one of REWASD's first joysticks supported.
and an extra, its a very dual purpose stick. i can also put two side by side and operate excavators in farming simulator. or use a second one as a better collective for helicopters over tensioned hotas throttle (i have the x56 its great no complaints.)
but to sum it up, those potentiometers are twitching my stuff. idk how long a new joystick would last i think mine might even have been used when i got them but the one i used the most held up great for a year it just isnt getting any less twitchy. if i upgrade i honestly might switch to the farm sticks by thrustmaster because they have hall effect and more buttons on the stick itself instead of the hard to reach base buttons. but they are fugly as heck and more expensive than my otherwise just fine 3d pro.
how can i avoid the ewaste of buying new every year to try and get a maybe less twitchy stick... can i find a drop in potentiometer for these... if i have to learn to do a bit of modding and soldering now is the time to find resources and learn because i would use these for life is so.
there is one guide online about a fella who modded his with hall effects and i dont need that. i want some high quality traditional potentiometers or at least some that can be easily sourced if they go bad quickly. only other thing i saw was one guy mentioned he had some in his that were from the 60's and were very precise. but that sounds like he was more skilled to do that than i might be.
whats the verdict because i love this stick nothing else is quite as elegant for me besides an expensive and less multipurpose flight only stick.
also lot of people suggest wd40 on the potentiometer. i took it apart and blew them with an air duster instead and that wasnt a go. is this a possible fix to just get me a little bit more life til i figure this situation out?
Can anyone find me a good Hotas kit with international shipping for less than 150$? The only option I have in my country is the X52 Pro in this price range
I have a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle w/greatly improved innards via the Panzer V3 Slider Mod.
I want to have the following behavior where 0% is full back and 100% is full forward on the throttle:
0% - Full Reverse
30% - Full Stop
70% - Forward at max "safe" speed
100% - Forward at max speed
I'm close, by mapping the Flight Movement...Throttle - Forward/Back to Z-Axis (input2) it gives:
0% - Full Reverse
50% - Full Stop
100% - Forward at max speed
So what I'm trying to do is essentially figure out how to have 30% of the throttle equate to 50% of the Z-Axis reported to SC. I'm sure the solution is in the joystick sensitivity curve but thus far haven't been able to find a stock value or custom curve that works.
Do I need to use something like Joystick Gremlin or some other 3rd party external tool to get what I'm looking for to work? There's no real documentation on how to set up the sensitivity curves in SC, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong or if it just is outside the capability of their editor.
I'm selling a VKB STECS Throttle System Mini Plus and a Gladiator NXT EVO 'Space Combat Edition' (RH) that I purchased four months ago. The MSRP/subtotal is $384. I'm asking for $250 $200, preferably through PayPal. Where is the best place to sell them?
They're in great condition, I've used them maybe four times, and I have the cords for them. Thanks.
I'm searching for this part of the right part of the joystick , would love to buy it from you if you can ship it to me
Hi, I'm looking to upgrade from my Thrustmaster T.Flight One that I got as a gift a few years ago since I've gotten into DCS, and I've been looking at suggestions on this sub about good setups under ~US$500, but most of the posts are from a few years ago. Based on those posts I've picked out the VKB Gladiator stick and Warthog throttle, but I want to know if this is still a good combination? I've also seen a lot of recommendations for the TWCS, but it looks like it only has one axis, while I'd prefer something with two. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I remember there being talk that Virpil might make an AH-64 cyclic around the time their collective dropped, but I haven’t seen any news in the slightest since.
Saw that Maxflightstick makes a metal version that looks interesting but the pricing is steep!
Any news on Virpil or does anyone have the Maxflightstick version?
I want to get into the more advanced aircraft in DCS, but my controller and keyboard setup doesn't cut it so I'll need a stick and probably a throttle. I know everyone in this sub is going to start screaming "VKB". But importing them into the UK is such a hassle that I'm not sure withs worth the £200 price tag. Was looking into the Ursa Minor stick but that seems overpriced for what you get as well, especially at RRP
Hi guys, im planning to upgrade from my T.Flight Hotas to something that will work for a long time. Like in the title i was looking at VKB and VIRPIL. What do you guys think would be better for that 500€ range.
Hi all
Curious if anyone here has bought and tried out the R-Delta ICP or Misc Panel?
I’m really tempted to buy the misc panel for my VR simpit, it looks really good and solidly made but I haven’t seen any actual user reviews of this thing, looks like it’s only recently been released
Thinking about buying a new hotas, any recommendations? Looking to spend about 300-600 AUD on one
I recently picked up an old saitek evo force and got it hooked up to my pc, it seemes too work fine with the browser based flight sim I played but when I tried to open up any steam game it crashes on the loading screen. So far I have tried DCS world, war thunder, and even beamng and they all crash immediately. Anyone have an idea as to what could be happening?
In need help, everywhere I go I see that nothing is good, any suggestions????
Hello i'm planning to buy my first base, it is gonna be used with extension. Searching for my answer previous day but can't find answer for those specific bases of theese versions GF IV and 50CM3. Would you like to help me with making last decision on which one to buy and tell me the difference, what are the pros and cons on specific base.
My main goal is to play il2. But look of controller is second priority because im playing in vr.
Thank you :)
Hey y'all! After my disastrous situation with the Logitech X56 I decided to might as well start looking for better HOTAS options. The questions is, what?
Here are the points I'd like to cover
* Ideally, this should be my forever setup that I will start growing slowly
* I will upgrade both stick and throttle
* I need it to be good quality, long lasting
* Mostly for MS Flight Simulator, DCS, and maybe Elite: Dangerous
I understand that the best bang for the buck brands are WinWing and VKB, and since those DO ship to Mexico (The latter through AliExpress) I suppose those are my two options.
This is what I saw from each
Winwing: Orion 2 HOTAS MAX kit
VKB: Gunfighter MK IV stick + STECS Throttle (PRICES IN MXN)
I have the following questions:
* Which option should I go for?
* Should I consider another VKB stick or is the gunfighter as good as they say? My hands are relatively small being 5'10. What's the word on the Gladiator?
Many thanks!
Edit: It has come to my attention that Virpil DOES ship to MX. So, what does this setup from virpil look like?
Dear friends, finally I waited. Virpil started a campaign on Kickstarter.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/virpil/virpil-controls-advanced-flight-simulator-yoke
News on the Virpil forum
https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/22055-advanced-flight-yoke-campaign-now-live/
I have everything Virpil offers. Flightsticks, gas control Throttle, pedals, three control boxes. There is even a Collectives to control the helicopter.
In my fantasies I dreamed of a Yoke control console for a civilian aircraft and hoped that Virpil would someday create a Yoke console. And now this miracle has happened. Of course, I am participating in the Kickstarter campaign.
Will this creation be better than Honeycomb, Trustmaster and Logitech?
I have never had any complaints about the quality of Virpil products. In addition, they promise to make the Yoke console out of metal and with replaceable aircraft steering wheels.
Virpil has every chance of becoming number one.
What do you think about this, friends?
My daughter ripped the usb plug right off by moving my flight sim chair. I’ve reached out to Virpil to order a replacement, but the emails sound like it’s not a for sure thing to get replaced. Just as an in case it can’t be replaced, any one have any idea how I can fashion a new one? I really don’t want to have to buy a new base just for a cable. Thank you in advance.
As the title says, I'm simply looking for a good joystick that would fit the Viggen, any suggestions?
I have watched about half a dozen VKB STECS Standard reviews and they all came with mostly flying colors quality and ergonomics wise. I have convinced myself that this is probably the next big thing I'm going to buy.
That being said, are there any similar throttle units coming up soon? Price point and all that? It probably won't change my mind but I'd like to know at least.
Hey Everyone,
I'm still doing research on this but I've decided I'm making a HOTAS setup with a Fanatec f1 bundle and a second wheel for like BeamNG Drive, and then I'm also adding a UH1-Huey helicopter setup but I might just leave the stick from the FA/18 for the helicopter. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone has done what I'm planning to do and if they could give me a part list if they can, I just want some inspiration before I start buying the really expensive things. Also I have a budget of around $6,000 AUD (please no hate on me being Australian)
Any help would be great :)
I like to kick back in a comfy chair with my thrustmaster Airbus stick. However frequently there are controls that won't be mapped to the flight stick and I find myself reaching for the keyboard which totally breaks the flow. What do others do in this situation? Combine small keyboard to the hotas?
How the heck do i get Winwing Orion 2 F-16 to work with MSFM? Binding each key individually seem very complicated. Is there any easier solution?
So, I was just curious about the mappings in the Adjust Controls section and intentionally, I cleared every mapping for keyboard, mouse and my HOTAS. And then I reset it to default. The issue I'm facing is that the clickable button on my keyboard, mouse and hotas are back to default, but the inputs which involve moving off a component for example my mouse, scroll wheel, flight stick(X and Y axis and my rudder) and especially my throttle are not mapped. And I'm not able to do it manually also.
It'll be very helpful for you to help me out... Thanks.. And it's DCS btw
