Hello, is there any reason why more popular servers like HBCW, Shadow reapers doesn't share data with tacview so it can record? I have flown today with A-4E and wanted to analyse my flight later but its useless, map is empty and only my plane goes around in circle doing dropping bombs on empty map...
Is there other way to analyse our flights now? I assume tracks from DCS are still useless?
Total noob to huey playing on mouse and keyboard. Anytime i try to fly i cant add collective and i just go straight into the ground. Any advice?
My sweet spot of bookreading itch scratch is books with niche technical details about aircraft. Ive read skunkworks, boyd, the right stuff, yeager,747 etc etc. I love learning about technical details of aircraft along with a narrative style of book. Can i get some recommendations please, thankyou.
So my first module was the FC3, my first FF was the F18. And my only map is Syria.
I was "flirting" with the AH64 because I wanted a new experience and to do some ground attacks but I really love flying planes. I tried the F14 a few times but it's lack of marvericks and Anti radiation missiles bother me.
So the F4 really started teasing me these last few days. Anyway
Thank you guys in advance
So over the last 24hrs, I had two separate campaigns break on me. I started with Persian freedom with the A-10, mission 6.
I played through most of it but got smoked towards the end of the mission (all the triggers worked fine). Next playthrough, the trigger for the first bomb drop just doesn't trigger any more, and the first drop is like 40 mins into the mission. I've tried the mission multiple times and it just doesn't register I dropped the bomb or that i destroyed the target.
So after four attempts, all with the trigger broken. I swapped campaigns to the Gamblers campaign mission 2.
This one I do startup, comms are good and we're cleared to taxi but none of my wingmen ever move. If I do nothing no one moves, if I taxi to the runway, still no movement.
Like WTH!?
I uninstalled and reinstalled both campaigns, verified DCS integrity. still broken.
Last week, I bought the F-16C module as my first ever DCS one.
Today, I laser-bombed my first target. Feels good to reach new milestones learning this game. Been practicing on the A-4 Skyhawk and decided to purchase the F-16C.
However, one thing I struggle with is that when I turn the ALT Hold knob, it works a lot of times, but also a lot of times it does some crazy up or down pitching for the aircraft, leading it to stall or crash. Can someone explain to me what am I doing wrong?
Would the f15e be able to dogfight to defend itself from f18s/f16s?
I have been playing for a bit on a few multiplayer servers that use combined arms like Contention, DDCS and SDCS
SDCS has this feature where you can group multiple units in an area using a marker and send them all at once rather than having to click and route every unit individually and any path given to a unit continues on the same path to the target after the server restarts
It is such a nice feature, why aren't more servers enabling it? It is so time consuming and draining to re-send larger convoys every restart and even more painful if the server crashes shortly after you have set 20 units rolling
I am now a little more than a year into DCS and went with the T16000M FCS with TWCS throttle and rudder extension for a beginner setup. aaaand its already broken!
Ive spent roughly 200€ and it barely lasts a year. it seems the potentiometer in the throttle went bad and it justs jumps around, so basicly unusable. tried cleaning it, as online tutorials advise, but that only helps temporarily. ontop of that the joystick sometimes doesnt respond at all. the joystick slider also doenst work anymore. the rudder is still usable, tho sometimes hard to operate as dust collects on the guide rails and mixes with the grease.
So how is this acceptable at this price? couldnt they bother installing hardware that lasts more than a year? especially the critical compontents, a dead button would be easier to tolerate than the whole throttle.
Ive probably learnt my lesson now to rather buy good quality, than to buy twice, even though 200€ is already quite expensive should come with some quality. it had 4,5 stars on amazon, doesnt quite meets the expectations. for comparison, my Logitech G27 steering wheel ive bought used and is 10+ years still works perfectly fine. I wont bother installing a aftermarket potentiometer for the throttle and invest in proper hardware this time.
I am probably going for the Virpil Rotor TCS Plus Base in pair with the SharKa-50 grip to replace the throttle. Did some research, seems to be of good quality. Can anyone recommend?
That produces a new issue tho, as the rudder is only connected to the Throttle and doesnt have its own USB cable. might aswell just rip out the circuitboard and have it laying around...
So yeaaa, in conclusion, cant recommend buying that one as a beginner setup. dont make the same mistake.
i just upgraded my pc, and now when i try to play dcs in a multiplayer server its eating 25gb of ram and constantly stuttering; especially weird considering my pc only had its cpu and gpu changed, the ram is the same as before, and its only affecting multiplayer.
anyone got any ideas whats going on? because my pc ran dcs better than this with half the specs on the same settings
Edit: got it solved, because my cpu was stronger it was burdening my ram more, cut my preload distance by 60% and I can run fine again
As per title. I literally can't read anything o hud because I get a terrible, terrible double vision. The rest of the cockpit looks more or less ok. This happens in every plane (tested 5 so far). I tested in PICO 4 as well, didn't notice this issue (I no longer have the headset so I can't directly compare).
I also get the double vision when I look at the calibration dot or at the mouse cursor on my windows desktop while in VR.
Any help/suggestions what can be wrong and how to fix this?
I can’t get playable fps in VR with any module on the Marianas map except the OH6A mod and it runs like a raped ape, 170+theoretical FPS.
I don’t have issues with any other map (hold 72fps most of the time 5800x3d/4080/64gb/Q3) but Marianas is pure trash with low 30’s and constant frees/stutters.
The fact the OH6A mod works so well makes me think there’s some bug with tgp’s or the flight models? It’s bizarre even though the OH6A is super simple, other simple modules like the C-101 can’t run on it.
Anyone else see something like this?
Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends,
Two new exciting tools for DCS Core are currently in development: The Multi-Select for the Mission Editor and a more streamlined DCS Updater that is integrated into the launcher! Both are coming soon. Please read the details below.
Coming to DCS, the F/A-18C Arctic Thunder campaign by Baltic Dragon will contain 10 missions that place you in the cockpit of a Finnish F/A-18C over the Kola map. In addition to providing an immersive experience that is to be expected from Baltic Dragon, it will also allow you to interact in the campaign using your stick and throttle rather than the F10 menu. Stay tuned!

Mission Editor Select Tool
Coming soon to the Mission Editor is the ability to group together units, objects, trigger zones, and drawings into a larger group that can be moved as a whole using ‘click and drag’. You can also copy, paste, delete, and rotate them. This makes the process of creating missions in DCS much easier and faster, particularly when using hot keys.
Planned Improvements to DCS Updater
Please note that the updater downloads and unpacks all new files before deleting the replaced ones to keep DCS in an operable state as long as possible and to reduce the update installation time. This allows updates to be paused or cancelled without breaking the game. For restricted disk space scenarios, it is possible to create an update mode where old files are deleted before downloading new ones. However, you will not be able to run DCS until the update is completed. With the upcoming integration of the DCS Updater into the launcher, downloading of updates in the background while running the game will be possible.
Campaign by Baltic Dragon
Coming Q4 2024
February, 2024. Finland is on the verge of joining NATO when the unthinkable happens: Russian armed forces push through the border while cruise missiles rain down on the country. Several western allies immediately join the conflict to fight alongside their Finnish brothers in arms.
Baltic Dragon has created a fictional Kola map scenario based on real life events and tactics. Strap into a Finnish DCS: F/A-18C, take off from a hidden road base. Take part in study level, highly realistic missions such as CAP, CAS, SEAD and precision strikes. Follow real life procedures in unprecedented detail.
Launching simultaneously, a companion F-16C Viper campaign by Reflected Simulations will be available that is woven into the same storyline. Now is an excellent time to purchase the Kola map! Experience what it would be like to fly as a fighter pilot in a large-scale air war today.

Welcome to our BVR-Soloqueue System, designed to find matches for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 brackets with fair rules for all players. Our queing system automates arena and team allocations, making it easy for players to quickly find 90's BVR matchups in a competitive environment.
We are now entering public open Beta.
How it works:
Finding a match:
Players enter the que via a Discord channel.
Once enough players have been found the Fighting Wing Bot creates a thread the Discord channel tagging the players. An arena will be reserved for the respective players if they confirm that they received the queue within 2 minutes. Once all respective players have confirmed the match slots for their arenas will be unlocked for them.
Once the match is over, the players will automatically be removed from the slots and not be able to join anymore.
You can use /notification-on and /notification-off in discord to opt in and out from receiving pings when someone joins a queue!
(This is off by default, we just assign a role to you if you turn it on).
Leaderboard:
All players participating will be added on a public leaderboard. Leaderboards for their respective brackets (1v1, 2v2 and 3v3) will be seasonal and reset regularly throughout the year. The classical ELO system is used to calculate the relative skill levels of players. Each player has a rating number starting at 500. When you win, your rating goes up; when you lose, it goes down. Achieving certain milestones in rating will grant special discord titles and roles (visual). We plan on expanding the rewards in the future.
You can check elo and ranking of any player by using /rank in discord
Meta:
The Server uses a 90's setting with the main missiles being the Aim-54C Mk47/60, Aim-120B (limited to 6 per aircraft), R-27ER, R-77 and 2 R73. The Aim-9X and Aim-120C will not be available. 2 SD-10s will be available for the JF-17. ECM is NOT allowed.
The zone you're playing in punishes endless running by moving towards the team closer to the center. So try to contest that part of the zone!
We plan on potentially adding more servers with different metas in the future, including Coldwar, 80s and modern!
To start playing connect to our Discord server, READ THE RULES- AND-HELP CHANNEL and then use /linktutorial in any text channel to get started!
Thank you for your interest and most importantly enjoy your time on our server!
If you have any questions or need help, feel free to reach out!
Probably a dumb question but gotta learn somehow. How on earth do you spot ground targets using the TGP when it's cloudy? Can't fly under the clouds due to ground AA, can't see anything above them
This was more because i realised how tricky it was to manage the weapons in the Mirage F1 without a dedicated set of controls for it so why not just make a replica (with an extra switch for jettison controls). I'll be uploading plans to MakeWorld later today!
Edit:
As promised a link to the model and bill of materials https://makerworld.com/en/models/768516#profileId-703991
Hi,
Was curious what are your preferred method, to have everything loaded and ready from the ME or do it via the Menu after start...?
And in RL i am guessing the jets are armed and fueled before mission takeoff - and not waiting in the hangar fully loaded - except for the aircraft on Quick Reaction Alert..
Just pickd up the Tomcat and loving but have a question about using guns for A/A. I'm finding that when I have guns selected (with the ACM cover up), I can't seem to get PAL/VSL modes to lock a bandit in the HUD. I have to switch to sidewinders, get the lock then switch back to guns.
Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone test it to see if they see the same behaviour.
Are there are any flyable mods with contra-rotating props like the Fairey Gannet or the Westland Wyvern? Also, does not have a contra-rotating prop but is any developer making something like the Bregeut Alize.
When I use VR Zoom (both regular and spyglass) I get weird distortion when moving the head. I have to hold my head perfectly still or I get terribly motion sick (I kinda prone to, so I have to avoid anything that could get me motion sick). Can I get rid of it?
Hi,I list my speccs here first so thats done.
CPU - AMD 5700X3D
GPU - RX 7800XT
RAM - 64GB
Router - WiFi-6 with support to 1200mbps on 5GHz band
Virtual Reality - PICO 4
Im getting a new router (Router with built-in 4G modem. And before you make any comments about that, it doesnt matter if its 4G mobile internet, streaming VR over Virtual Desktop is only local speed)
Anyhow. My current router is a ASUS 4G-AX56 that supports up to 1200mbps on 5GHz band. The issue is that I got alot of compression artifacts and color banding in DCS in VR, especially on the clouds and at the horizon, and worst of them all, on my MFD's. So searching for targets in the targeting pod is VERY difficult because of all the blockiness. I have to use VR Zoom to be able to even distinguish anything, and even then, I really really have to focus. And im not even exaggerating, its really really bad.
Im using codec HEVC with max bitrate (150mbps). H.264+ causes micro-stutters for me, and is only useable on singleplayer. If I use it in MP, the latency gets really high and theres a big noticeable delay on head-movement. But still, the blockiness is still there.
The local speed fluctuates alot, fluctuates between 600-1200mbps. My idea is by getting a router that supports 1733mbps on the 5GHz band will allow some headroom for that fluctuation, thus being able to provide a stable 1000-1200mbps bitrate. Is my way of thinking wrong, or would this work? To decrease the blockiness and color banding I mean. And ofc, decrease latency.
I know the PICO 4 headset only supports up to 1200, but the 1733 on router will allow fluctuation headroom.
I’ve been looking to pick up a STECS throttle to go with my Gladiator and after some research the Mini or Mini plus isn’t gonna work for me. So now I’m left between the standard and the Max. Just want to know from someone who has these throttles if the price increase is worth it. Thanks 🙏
