I have Arma 3 minus Apex and most of the DLC except Western Sahara. What I’m mostly interested in doing is simulating historical and hypothetical battles (or skirmishes). I’m not so much concerned with playing the game as a FPS as observing the battles unfold. Should I just get used to using the Eden editor and scripting missions? I’m just using CUP right in terms of mods.
I recently bought arma 3 and it's Vietnam DLC and I'm stuck on the part where you have to set traps as VC. How do I set up the traps and in what order do I set them ?

I was in an antistasi with a friend the other night and during a defense in Chernarus Summer my FPS dropped to a constant 9 until a few minutes after it ended from my normal 30-20. That was the worst one but it happened on all the ones that weren't small
My specs are: i5-9400F, 16gb ram, RX570
My settings were standard on almost everything, shadows at low, and my view distance was around 1100
It might've been a driver issue? From other posts I've read those were the answers
Was playing East Wind last night night, scouting mission. Then all of a sudden got a 'read only' warning when reloading after dying. Now the whole campaign won't load at all without crashing the game. Telling me some code in the file has changed. Something like '? where =' should be.
Is there anything I can do to get my progress back? Or do I have to start again? The campaign.sqc file, I'm a gardener not a coder too, lol.
Has anyone else had the problem with Mi-8s for disembarking or loading AI or other passengers while the helicopter is on and landed makes it seems to bounce up a bit every time someone gets on or off. its made it a bit difficult to do insertions and it injurs my friends a little while playing antistati when they get in.
In Ending B of the East Wind, we see Kerry confront Miller, and Miller says that he'll give Kerry a way out. However, Miller wasn't able to, unfortunately for Kerry.
What do you think Miller was going to do, if he was able to do so? I feel like it would've been much easier for Miller to just bring Kerry with him, assuming they were going to take the HMS Proteus submarine.
First of all, I'm loving this setup. I've spent too much money already on "specialised hardware" for this. Enabling head-tracking through just a webcam and some software: amazing!
Now that I've been using it for a couple of months and tried various settings, mappings, filters and configs. I feel like I'm getting there and I'm pleased with my current config.
But there's one thing I cannot seem to figure out. It feels like the input magnitude for the "head roll" movement is different for infantry as for vehicles. I mainly use the headtracker when flying heli's and jets. My config works smoothly when in either. The head roll sensitivity maps slightly less than 1 to 1 on real life head movement. But when on infantry it feels like there's a huge deadzone I need to pass first, and even after that (imagined?) deadzone the input is mapped waaaay less sensitive.
My description might all sound a little vague, but it's a very specific problem and I cannot find better wording for it at the moment. I can provide questions and perhaps even record some videos if that would help. I'm actually hoping someone reads this and goes "Ahaaaa, it's because you have the ..." or "you're using X, change it to Y".

I am looking for a particular kind of mod, one which combines the great tactical gunplay of ArmA with a strategic war against the AI. While I know there are several “RTS” mods, I’m not really looking for the mods where you buy units and throw them at the AI for an hour until someone wins. More like a military campaign, less StarCraft.
For those of you who have played XCOM 2’s Long War mod, you know what I’m talking about.
Whether you run a resistance movement or a military unit doesn’t matter, but the depth and quality of the strategic layer is important. The AI needs to fight back on the strategic map, and the war needs to be dynamic and evolving. Nothing gets boring faster than attacking the same copy-pasted AI checkpoint 5 times in a row! At that point it feels more like a bandit camp in Skyrim than part of a battlefield.
The strategic level and its depth is probably the most important for me.
Does anyone know which mods best fits this description?
Hey folks! I’m considering getting Arma 3 for the various Warhammer 40K stuff made for it, but I want to make sure that I’ll be getting my money’s worth for it. Yes, I know Arma 3’s base game can be fun as well, but I already have Squad to scratch that itch. Essentially I just want to know if the Warhammer content is good enough to justify me buying the game. Thanks in advance for the help!
If so please link that to me and if it doesn’t exist it would be great if someone made a good one. Additionally a mod that includes the VCOG would also be great to have. The lack of proper early to mid 2010’s USMC equipment is quite depressing :(
I understand mildots up to 2km is gonna be 50 but past 2km its 25, im trying to see if anybody has a chart to show where to aim for example at 2283 it would show you where you would aim at.
So as the title states, my game cant get a solid connection with EU servers even though im in the EU. Yesterday it was working fine and it just doesnt work at the moment. All the russian servers have a really low ping which is odd as well. I have no VPN on and there isnt a sneaky one running in the backgroud for as far as i can tell.
Any help would be awesome
I have been playing arma 3 for 3 years now and have over 700 hours. Since day one I used RHS, but now I'm thinking of using CUP. I have never used CUP before but from what I've seen it looks better for units and factions. Can someone with experience with both help me out?
when I activate the trigger of the fighters jet they start to act crazy to reach the runway and sometime when they want to get out from the hanger the go to the right and stuck in the walls. how to fix this problem??
