Has anyone’s Moog Muse suddenly freaked out during startup then stopped working?
This happened the other day. The. Each time it turned on it would load for a second then go dark. I tried going into disk mode and reflashing the firmware. Now it doesn’t even go into disk mode.
I reached out to support but haven’t heard anything in weeks…
Any UK based had experience with this? any idea how long i'm looking at for a repair or replace?
got a horrible feeling it'll be months :(
Exactly what the title says. I’m trying to sync my Roland t-8 drum machine to my Moog Labyrinth. I’ve connected from the midi in patch on the lab patch bay to the midi out on the t-8. Used a splitter so I could hear both without need for a mixer when just sitting on my bed coming up with track ideas.
I just got into semi modular earlier this year. It’s been so fun!
hello all!
I'm trying to connect dram via midi.
I know there are few options such as
DFAM the thing
MFAD
play dfam (vst plugin)
I'm trying to sync and connect to other midi devices but my main sequencer is DAW. don't use external sequencer atm (and not going to probably.)
going to use dfam for electronic percussion sound, ambient sketch and etc.
mostly going to be 4/4 time signature but sometimes I do 5/4 (5/8) or 7/8 odd meters too.
any of the devices above are able to do ?
what's best option for me?
I'm thinking getting play dfam as my audio interface has dc-coupled output.
anybody has experience with play dfam or any other devices?
Can anyone confirm that there is a thin plastic film covering the chrome parts of the knobs when the Subsequent 37 is new out of the box? Thanks
having loads of issues with a new Grandmother, been troueshooting for like a week, does anybody have a helpline number? struggling to find one, thanks
Hey, I recently built a eurorack and found that when I patch my matriarch to it in any capacity there’s a slight high pitched signal whine. This happens even when all my eurorack vcas are muted, no matter which module I patch the matriarch into, or which matriarch jack I patch out of. Yesterday I was trying to use the clock out. Is this something others have noticed? Or is this potentially a defect with my synthesizer?
PLus $1400 but it's a no brainer really
Hiya, i have my Grandmother paired with a Roland TR8S, just wondering how long it should stay in sync for via MIDI?
mine seems to drop out after a 10 orcdo minutes then i need to go back into global mode and reset the clock so to speak,
is that normal or could i get longer?
any tips/tricks? i'm new to MIDI and DAWless stuff so please be kind :) having a blast though!
I’m no instrumentalist, producer first, but the playability of the Muse is something I’ve only previously been able to do by heavily leaning on my DAW. It’s drastically changed my workflow and “in the moment” ability to play and write musical ideas beyond my instrumental ability. Loving the Muse.
There is an option to set a MIDI OUT channel separately. However, in the text for that option, it also notes that "The original MIDI Channel global option ... continues to set both MIDI IN and OUT channels to the selected channel number."
So if I set OUT to a separate channel, does the global option override it? Or do they sit next to each other, effectively allowing for two different OUT channels? Or, if I set the global option to, say channel 1, and then set the MIDI out to 3 (as an example), do I have 1 for IN and 3 for OUT?
Hey guys, I got a „little“ problem with my Subsequent37: The knobs don’t change anything on the sound. The sound plays, when I write a melody in my DAW and press play. But when I tweak the knobs, nothing changes. The DAW recognizes the knob tweaks. When I play the Moog standalone with my headphones connected, it also doesn’t make any sound, no matter which button I press and no matter what preset. The firmware is 1.2, so I think it’s the newest. Do you have any Idea, what is going on? Thank you in advance!
Hi this is my first post here, and I'm curious to see if anyone else is experiencing these issues as currently Moog is deleting or closing tickets without communication or support, likely due to the tragedy in Asheville.
I'm noticing VCA bleed on the synth. If I play a chord for example, I can hear the synth still after the envelope has closed. It's pretty quiet but audible.
USB midi just seems to not work at all for me on MacOS. Tried multiple daw's and used methods that work with other keyboards but it doesn't work for this one. I can see the device in the daw but no midi gets transmitted or received.
There seems to be a glitch, either with the envelope or the delay where it will infinitely echo, as if it was the basic delay, and not stop until I power cycle the synth or switch patches. The patches don't do this normally and feedback setting are low, it just happens randomly.
There seems to be click and pops while dynamically switching voices. I'm not sure if this is digital clipping in the delay, or the voices changing not at 0 and thus clicking/popping but it kind ruins some otherwise very lush sounding patches sometimes.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or does my unit need to be repaired/replaced?
Hello all first post here. So I bought a Matriarch a while back thinking of all the possibilities I would have to create music. I did not realize the level of complexity involved and understanding needed to do that. Is there a good source for comprehensive tutorials for dummies like myself? Also is there anywhere that has more than the book that came with it concerning the placement of cables and knobs? I'm lost when it comes to understanding it enough to do much at all. I also looked at the Muse today at Guitar Center and it seems a lot easier to deal with. Even thought of selling the Matriarch and getting the Muse but I would rather try putting in the effort to understand it better. Thanks for any advice!
Hi there!
I have a Labyrinth and I like it a lot. I find it easy to create evolving polyrhythmic melodies or nice hyptonic techno stabs. I have found a pair of dfam and mother 32 second hand but I only want 1. The sound of the Mother 32 is very good, but the instant techno drumming of the Dfam is very appealing.
What is your recommendation for the Labyrinth mate? I have a Digitone and Ableton (laptop).
Thx!
Does anyone have the power requirements for a etherwave theremin? Or know how to make one?
I have an old moogerfooger ring modulator pedal I’m trying to repair but I can’t find the correct schematics. I’m need the old schematics for the 330a circuit board? Thanks
Those who have bought the Moog knob kit, do you think it's worth it?
I would need to get two kits to have enough to improve the tiny knobs on the semi-modulars.
Seems crazy expensive for what it is (I know, it's not much compared to the actual synths, but still...)
I've also read that they can fit very loosely.
Hello everyone,
When I hit the green button on the Moog Grandmother the synth stops playing sound. It will be playing sound before, but when I hit the green button, it stops all sound until I press it again.
When the synth turns on, I see that the red light turns on, but when I press the green button and press it again, it turns off. The entire time it does not flash on and off.
Something is telling me it has something to do with the clock, but after searching, I'm not for sure what to do about it. Can anyone help me troubleshoot the issue or at least help in someway? Thank you.
EDIT: I plugged the wave out from the LFO to the clock in and confirmed that it is working with a flashing yellow light. When I take it out, it stops working. More signs of it being the clock?
EDIT 2: When I try to do the global reset instructions from here: https://inmusicsupport.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/69000840530-general-troubleshooting-grandmother I do not get the lights confirming it worked. It just doesn't work.
EDIT 3: Had to do a firmware update. Took me two tries for it to reboot into it. Then I had to move the Arp rate knob to get the clock moving. Now it works! I'll keep this up for anyone who needs this. Did the firmware update that is on this page. Couldn't find the official page where I found it. https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/moog-grandmother-calibrate-and-update/#Update-the-firmware
Hello,
I'm having a weird behaviour that i cannot explain.
The Sync button ON, when i send a START message from my MC707, the Moog Sync automatically turns off.
Any idea what is causing that?
