DONT FORGET TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS NOW FOLKS! Old Man Winter around the corner! Don't be part of the annual summer tire club on first snowfall!
I actually just got a decent set of studded from Tireman for 107.50 each just now online after everything was $535 but first time I've ever seen a sale code on homepage. Put in SNOW10. I just paid $465.59 for a set of Antares Grip 60 studded not a bad deal! Been using him for almost a decade now. Lovely couple that owns it and they offer free delivery too.
Last year, we gave out the seasonal Pokemon Trading Cards alongside our candy, and the year before that, we game out children-friendly comic books alongside candy. Wonder if there are any others out there who give out anything besides candy to the kids? Always looking for new ideas! 🦇
Anyone else within earshot of University & Robie that’s been hearing chainsaws going all night? I’m so confused/curious 😅
Where can you have your disability tax forums filled out if you do not currently have a family doctor
Where in the HRM can I buy dry snuff, for taking through the nose.
Preferably something indigenous/first nations. Are there any shops in the HRM that specialize in selling indigenous tobacco products?
Will this not be a really good thing for Halifax + Nova Scotia as a whole? Or do we just not have the extra capacity to move more goods? I know absolutely nothing about this industry
Hey everyone, I have a friend coming to town who never had donair. I don’t eat it so I have no clue who in town serves up the best meats. What is everyone out here choosing? Thank you
Pls make sure to check weather and Aurora updates before heading out !! I will post more on my Instagram @skywatchercanada . Good luck !
New to the city… from Toronto. I haven’t seen any squirrels but see so many rats! What’s up!?
First post here, don't know how things work exactly and the government website is older than I am, so help me. I live/work on Inglis st and saw two uniformed individuals go in, come out, make phone calls and go back in to the Xiao Yu chinese restaurant. The place has never been a pretty spot, mice droppings found all over the place when I went there to eat (so much for supporting local). My question is how do I know whether they're closed? I saw a bunch of vans parked along the road later today. How fast do they update inspection reports!?
I've got an older car and I want to get it painted Just trying to save some money wondering if anybody can recommend somethere that is not gonna completely gauge me for price I am very much on a budget
Wondering if anyone here has a recommendation for mobile mechanics in HRM, Halifax specifically? I’ve seen there is an old post about this topic but the people they recommend have since retired.
I have a Nisan frontier that stoped starting after I put a new battery in. I would like to find someone who’s mobile that can diagnose the issue so I don’t have to tow it to a shop. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi all, I am recently moved to Nova Scotia and I am living in Eastern passage. I am starting to work in Scotiabank Center. I am confused that whether I should get a monthly parking permit (which costs around 200$) or should I get a bus pass. If there is any other ways I am not aware of, I am open for that as well. Thanks in advance.
I have a few older compact fluorescent lightbulbs that I’d like to recycle. I know about recycling options like Home Depot etc. but looking for a place closer to home. Walmart on Mumford is listed as offering recycling services for these bulbs. Can anyone confirm?
Edited: clarity
I know drivers have gotten awful in Halifax but every time it still surprises me
Hi, I'm a 38 year old guitarist is looking for people to start a prog/hardcore/post rock band.
But the genre is not super important. I'd like to see what we can create together as a band, and therewith would appreciate diffirernt musical backgrounds and tastes. I'm mostly influenced by rock, metal, jazz, and electronic music myself.
Level of comittment should be one band practise a week with the goal to get on stage and to record a few songs.
Level of expertise is advanced. I have played in several bands around the globe and am a guitarist for 25 years.
Anyone interested?
For anyone that might be making their mayor election decisions based on driving skill and etiquette, I just nearly drove into the Lovelace mobile at the rotary.
It's rush hour and I'm coming from Chebucto to Herring Cove Road on the inside lane with another car in the next lane over doing the same thing. As I come around past St Margaret's Bay exit and look to Herring Cove Road I see a car creeping out of Fairmount Road (the road right at the exit) attempting to cross both lanes of traffic from the rotary, the yellow painted section in the middle of the road while trying to force their way into a lane going into the rotary, which is backed up the hill with traffic. I slam on my brakes, lay on the horn then notice the giant "Pam Lovelace" emblazoned down the side of the car. She had the window down and gave me a panicked wave as she managed to slowly nip into a gap in the traffic.
I encounter a lot of idiots on the Rotary but to make a moronic maneuver like that, all the while with your name written on your car in font size 400..... It's just a shame I missed the AMA or I could have asked her what her stance is on drivers that cause accidents in our city by not obeying the rules of the road.
Anyone with any intel on how Fillmore and Mason are behind the wheel?
Why? What possible gain could this bring you except for the sheer delight of being a dick and messing with someone’s possession? If you had smashed a window to steal something out of desperate need, well I might be able to understand that. But no… no valuables sought just the sweet joy of f*ckery that only a vindictive small minded dumb-dumb could conceive of. I hope one day you have a nice thing that gets destroyed or messed with. Did I mention this was my welcome home gift after returning home from war-torn Beirut (where I work) because my dad is in hospital with dementia? Thanks for that.
Posting because I'm honestly not sure where to keep looking.
We need an in home visit from a nurse or person who can take care of feet. My husband needs his nails addressed and with his other health issues I am too leery of doing them myself.
Anyone have any leads in HRM? We are in dartmouth
VON says they don't offer anymore.
Thanks!
What was with the ridiculous traffic on the 102 today? It took me an extra hour to get home and for seemingly no reason. Was just curious if someone had some info on that to see if it's a regular occurance, and I should take another route to work, or if it was just a one off.
I don't know who needs to watch this but a lot of drivers I've seen lately should. Seems like people on the road need a reminder of how to make a left turn in this city. Especially when there is no left turn lane (02:11)... "when light is green, advance into the intersection with keeping vehicles straight..." What's up with everyone not pulling into the intersection? If you're scared to drive, stay off the road. You're a liability. What the H E double hockey sticks?!
Is it just me that notices this? I just wondering what people think here. I been noticing this over the past year of that.
If this violates the rules, I understand.
Do you know of a sports program for young kids in HRM that emphasizes fun over competitiveness/skills development?
I have a very reluctant/nonsporty six year old who actually enjoyed tee ball this summer because the emphasis was on having fun with it. Would love to find something similar but perhaps a tad more indoors for the winter. He’s apparently “over” Sportball.
