Short term Tutor Required, possibly leading to school tutoring later

Can you help with a small project? I require a tutor/helper for web design. I'm doing a casual position. I catalogued a collection and made a detailed database in MySQL. I would like to design a simple web site that connects to the database. There are also images of the collection that will need to appear on the website; in the database they are BLOB but we can use JPEGS or whatever's convenient for the website. Probably won't take a long time to complete. I've recently learned Python, basically a noob. I've been working in Visual Studio Code. Secure frame, hosting and server is a requirement. Not making a lot of progress on my own! Last time I did web design was 20 years plus ago in HTML!

Any small business need a casual odd job Jack? Leads on Overnight/latenight jobs?

I work from home and love my job, but my evenings and especially my nights are boring and feeling underutilized. My days are task based and wide open schedule wise.

Ideally I’d love to be someone’s on call / in a pinch casual contractor. I am always working on my own projects but am typically available to jump when I get the call.

Need someone to cover a sick day? Pick up a U-Haul of inventory and deliver it? Clean up after construction work? I’m likely to say yes. I don’t want to be an employee that has any additional employer obligations like CPP, EI or stat/holiday/sick pay. I’m just here for you when you need me, and in exchange you give me more liquidity in my monthly income.

Professionally I am a graphic designer and just about to launch a computer game (MMORPG). I’m great at data entry if you need a bookkeeper assistant a few times a month.

I spent the last 5 years working for the government in grant management and economic development, so maybe I can help you access some federal/provincial/organizational funding to help your business grow.

Or maybe you need someone to post on your socials a few times a week and design templates or even just design you the templates so that one of your core staff can maintain it. I’ve worked in corporate design and marketing for 15 years either directly or indirectly so there’s nothing you could throw at me that would stump me.

Really I guess I’m just hoping if I post here I’ll find another entrepreneur who is trying to fill gaps in their operation with someone like me.

Thanks for reading this, and an even grander thanks to those who may think I’m a good fit for you!

If that’s you, please feel free to DM me or comment and tell me how you’d like for me to find you. Now that you found me your life is supposed to get easier from now on!

Thank you again for your time and consideration

JOB OPPORTUNITY- Dump Truck Driver(PT/FT/or Casual) xpost from r/halifax

TLDR: want to hire dump truck drivers $27/hr to start Mon-Fri

Long post: I work for a small construction company that has a couple of dump trucks running material between the quarries and job sites around HRM as well as working directly with our landscaping crews to bring material to our job sites. Unfortunately, 2 of my drivers had unexpected personal/family emergencies and theyve decided to make the tough decision to leave work to focus on those needs. Sad to see them go- great guys, great drivers.

That now leaves 2 of our trucks off the road.. we have multiple ads on all of the career sites.. just cant seem to find drivers.

Totally understand there's a shortage right across the board but we are so used to drivers being a dime a dozen. Now, can i get some feed back on our pay scale?

Keep in mind- the position is monday- Friday- 7am start time- typically 430/5pm end time. Driving a twin steer dump truck in and around hrm.

We offer $27/hour to start with no experience other than the required license.. then it goes up from there after 3 months no questions asked THEN offer raises based on performance in between yearly raises. Unfortunately we are unable to offer health benefits at this time due to the small number of employees but that is going to change as soon as its reasonable to do so.

We are pretty easy to get along with when it comes to time off for family or health needs.. not the type of place to requre doctors notes for a upset stomach that makes you want to stay close to the toilet for instance hahaha

We dont care what you looks like, tattoos, piercings etc.. your identity is YOURS and it will be respected.. your past, whether good or bad is just that- your past.. dont be hesitant to apply if you have a criminal record. If you're currently experiencing housing crisis or insecurity- PLEASE apply- we want to help.

I guess im sharing this information to kind of highlight the feel of what we have going on here and try to get some more ideas on how to find drivers.. and also sort of as a job ad if anyone here is interested or knows someone who might be interested.

Any input would be appreciated.. we want to be able to grow our business and to do that- we need great employees who want to grow with us. We want to contribute to the community and be a company whos employees know they are safe and have job security as well as a healthy work/life balance.

I want to start a marketing company

Just to be totally transparent, I work remotely for a marketing company based out of Manitoba. Lately, I have been kicking around the idea of starting a marketing company here in Nova Scotia. I am looking for someone in a similar position (already making a living with some spare time) that would be interested in a start up. This means we only get paid after a finished project. I lack sales experience but have a varied skill set in graphic design, programming, video editing, seo and so forth. I've put together a website eastcoastmarketers.ca to get us started. So, if anyone is interested in giving this a shot, give me a shout.

Anyone heard of iconic nova scotia?

Pretty much the heading. They claim to be a marketing company, but their website looks a little hastily patched up.
No other social media presence. Asking for my sister who wants to apply for a job there. I think it may be an MLM (sorry! if I am wrong, just worried for my little sister). Any inputs welcome. Maybe I am overthinking, but shouldn't someone whose business is marketing have a larger presence? Happy to be corrected. Just want to be safe than sorry.

[For hire] 11 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Hire Me for Your SEO!

  1. Free Audit Document. - This must be a scam, companies are paying $1000 + to get their website audits and this guy offers it for free? Huh!

  2. White Hat SEO only. - Who would ever want to wait 6-9 months or more to get their website rankings where they need to be? Boost it now! We need results and we need them ASAP! Google penalties are a joke!

  3. Regular SEO reports. - That's what they all say and then they email you an Excel spreadsheet with rankings that aren't even accurate! What a loser!

  4. 100K + niche/language backlink base. - Who uses backlinks anyway? All you need is good content daily and you're golden. The Google team says backlinks aren't a ranking factor anyways! Sucker...

  5. Multiple software usage for rankings, audits, and link-building - Huh! All you need is Ahrefs! They're the biggest and everybody knows you're not doing SEO if you don't use Ahrefs metrics. What an amateur!

  6. SEO content and copywriting. - Right! Cause it's so hard to prompt ChatGPT4. This guy probably doesn't even write his prompts. Scammer alert!

  7. 10 years of experience. - Sure! One MOZ and 2 Coursera courses don't make you an expert! He was probably working as an assistant for the past 9 years bringing coffee to his boss!

  8. Experience in gambling, CBD, the adult industry, and crypto clients. - Right! Playing blackjack while smoking a joint, and paying for your prostitute with your XRP tokens doesn't count!

  9. Weekly calls/emails for client questions. - Why would you wanna waste even more of the client's time, by explaining the progress that takes 6 plus months anyway! OMG!

  10. Multiple payment methods with invoices available. - Yeah, you pay multiple times for the result it takes the Indian guy on Fiverr, like 5 minutes.

  11. Custom pricing according to languages/markets. - Of course getting fucked in French is probably much more expensive than getting scammed in the good old-fashioned English.

So here are all 11 reasons not to hire me! And I’m based in Europe and everybody knows that Europeans have fucked up teeth! But in case you do need help with your organic traffic, sales, and copywriting! DM me!

Where to find community engagement/development jobs

Hi,

I've recently graduated with a Masters in Planning and currently on the hunt for jobs relating to community engagement, community development, communications, or BID planning. I've been searching through HRM's site, the province's site, a large municipal job board (linked it just in case helpful for other folks), the government of Canada's site, and Indeed.

Just wondering if anyone knows other places to check for community/grassroots focused jobs in the Halifax/Dartmouth area!

Thank you in advance
