…I can’t help but wonder how she’d feel knowing that her death at the hands of a drunk driver with a South Asian surname has been seized as an opportunity for every pathetic racist on this sub to rail against every Brown-skinned person in this province, under the guise of mourning her.
I wonder if she’d find it morbidly amusing that they’re doing so, when she shares a surname with the White guy who was responsible for arguably the worst act in this province’s living memory.
Unfortunately, all I can do is wonder, because a seemingly nice, kind-hearted, person. who probably would’ve gone on to benefit many lives, has been taken from her loved ones, and all I’m left to know is that her memory is being exploited to further the agenda of the kind of people she appeared to have spent a fair chunk of her short life working against.
My condolences to those who actually knew, and loved, her.
That's it, that's the post.
When you stop in flowing or even slow moving traffic
to let someone cut in say leaving Timmies
You are being nice to that person
but you are being rude to all of those who are behind you
Agree?
keep in mind especially at a drive thru, that person made the choice to leave traffic

It's gone. Closed, gone forever.
Does anyone know any of the following things:
Tragic. Best ramen spot in town, and best fried chicken I've ever tasted.
I just walked my dog around the block, then cleared my driveway, (again!) During the walk, I got my leg soaked by a car going by me (way too fast for conditions, but that’s beside the point.) Then, while clearing the driveway, was sprayed with slush by three cars.
The salt they put down is creating that dirty grey slush, and the ice has made little dams that keep the water from getting to the sewers. Water and wet dirty snow are pooling on the roads.
Please be mindful of people walking by the roads. I was lucky as I was close to my home. I was able to go in and change. Someone might be on their way to work, or might not have a home to go to to get changed, and spending the rest of the day dirty and wet on a day like today is not something I’d wish on anyone.
Please slow down when passing anyone on the side of the street.
Does anyone know of a mobile snowblower service in HRM that will come to your home? Ours won't start.
We've no way to get our snowblower to a shop. Thanks!
I know this was asked a couple years ago on here, but I'm wondering if there's a Book Club in Halifax, maybe dedicated to 20-30 somethings? Or perhaps if anyone is interested in some buddy reads and then getting together at a cafe to discuss. I'm usually interested in books that are a bit thought-provoking, perhaps similar to the Heather's Picks at Indigo. Also books based loosely on historical events, or even some investigative non-fiction. But I could be open to many possibilities!
I’m a new RN who is very interested in working in the OR but have no clinical experience there or any certification. I have a few questions:
Portland Street is full of people, the kids are losing their minds with demonstrations of cool science experiments and crazy good ice sculptures. There is music, great food and coffee everywhere, it's so cold but nobody cares and it's the best time ever! Check it out, it is a great way to beat the winter blues. My first time attending, Dartmouth you sneaky, gorgeous beast...
Bring on your questions about the roads! Let’s keep each other safe! Some family members just drove across the province. My first question, how were the roads. I went out this morning. My cul de sac wasn’t plowed but I certainly didn’t expect the rest of the city to be in the same situation. If I knew it was I may have stayed home! If you have a problem with this question can you not just quietly ignore it or do we have to be mean to each other on every single platform?
My landlord just gave us a letter stating they’d be starting a $50/month AC charge for the months of may, June, July, August, and September. Is this legal?
Ideally a warm one that would be fun for kids!
Hi! Where do small kids go sledding in Dartmouth? Any good parks with a gentle slope for young kids.
Thanks!
I haven’t seen Danny in a while has anyone else seen him?
So aside from the usual rants about the lack of legroom, bathrooms, and low quality of food items, soft pretzels my ass….. did prices drop during the GST freeze or did they just happily leave them as they were already tax included?
Hi there! I'm not from Halifax but spent my college years there like most Nova Scotians. And 2010 is probably the last time I went out dancing in Halifax. So I dunno what the answer is here.
My little sister is looking for recommendations on where to go dancing tonight for her birthday. She's turning 35. She doesn't necessarily want to be where all the college kids are though. When I go to the city I'm more interested in pubs or cocktails now so I don't know what to tell her. Where do you think she and her friends should go for a bit of a party vibe without feeling "old"?
Why is Tim Houston not reassuring Nova Scotians he will protect us from the tariffs coming. I've heard other primiers say they will hit back at Trump. Feeling like he doesn't give a shit about us.
Did you or someone you know lose their phone on Gottingen Street yesterday? DM me because my wife found it.
