And green and golden I was huntsman and herdsman, the calves
Sang to my horn, the foxes on the hills barked clear and cold,
And the sabbath rang slowly
In the pebbles of the holy streams.

Contemplating the day
Hi!
Sorry if this has been asked before, I rarely use Reddit and this is a question I’ve wondered for a while.
I feel like I remember seeing a news article where people thought there were certain foxes trying to domesticate themselves because they see other animals doing it and getting food, and it made me wonder if domesticating foxes is something that people are doing?
I’m assuming it’s definitely possible over time like with any other animal, but is it something that people are doing with their breeding?
Are there pros and cons to this etc?
Thanks for any help, and again sorry if this is a common question here.
Mostly trail cam to not disturb and some long lens. Located on a hill top alongside an off ramp.
The CBC picked up the vid for their social in Calgary. Bit longer at close to 4 minutes, but hopefully cutting it to the music helps. Lots of very candid shots.
These are wild fox, we were lucky enough to see them in our back field often, hunting voles. Neighbours also gave us access closer to the den.
Should they go on a diet?
So... I hear this weird sound,at 3am, outside my house. Never heard it before, it sounded like a flat impact driver, short burst of about a second, pause for a few, then repeat.
I grab the nearest thing to hand (honest officer!) which was a surprisingly long screwdriver, about 2 foot for some reason, and a super powerful torch.
Wandering down the road in Stealth Mode(tm) it turns out it's coming from under a car, at this point I'm -completely- convinced it's a impact driver and someone's after a convertor.
So I turn on the portable batsignal and brace myself to make a chav kebab, and as I'm sure you've guessed, the biggest fox I've ever seen just strolled out from under the car and stared at me, about 2 meters away.
At this point I'm not sure who was more confused, so I said something along the lines of "excuse me sir, but do you fucking mind?"
It then walks off up the street, and not 20 seconds later I hear it after another convertor. I actually checked under the car for damage as it sounded so mechanical a sound.
Anyone have a clue what this was about, I've not found any recordings like that after a load of searching? Or did it just hide the Makita double quick sharpish and in a hurry?
And no, it’s not AI! Taken during my 2019 expedition to Svalbard.
Shot from quite a distance at full zoom, hiding in a rock pile.
Might need to tighten the springs a little lol
