Nic Newman could be set for a positional switch in 2025, today training with the midfield group, involved in plenty of stoppage work during a lengthy session.
Ollie Hollands continued to work with the defensive group today, after spending the backend of 2024 playing across half-back, which could become a permanent role for 2025.
Brodie Kemp trained with the forward group alongside names including Zac Williams and Alex Cincotta.
Charlie Curnow, Sam Walsh and Jack Silvagni started the session in the rehab group, before joining the main group shortly after. Mitch McGovern, Orazio Fantasia and Blake Acres didn’t join the main group, while Tom De Koning was on lighter duties for today’s session.
Adam Cerra looked fit and firing, moving freely and wasn’t part of the large rehab group at the start of the session.

Could be a good player on the wing I reckon, and Hollands looked much more at home at half-back to be frank. Could also be he's just practicing on his stoppage work for when there's a stoppage in the defensive 50, since we were pretty poor in defending those this season.
The afl last month ago got their fixtures out and I looked at the venues we are playing at and I see a surprise more games at the G, this is suprising because we had a contract with Docklands stadium to at least have 6 or more games at marvel, I reckon Docklands is gonna be furious
If you could add one player past or present to our list who would it be? I personally would love to add Cyril Rioli as he would thrive under the feet of McKay and Curnow.
For me I want to see Jagga and Lord link up in the midfield, although it might require a few injuries for that to happen.
Where are we at with our current list spots? Are we looking to get them onto the list, or is this merely contingency at this stage?
With Jagga Smith on board, just wondering how the careers of the previous All Australian captains went or are going?
Can't seem to find a list online. Does anyone know where to find this information?
Cheers
Our acquisitions:
Pick 3. Jagga Smith
Pick 40. Harry O'Farrell
Pick 43. Ben Camporeale
Pick 54. Lucas Camporeale
Pretty good haul I reckon. Got some good players who have plenty of time to develop.
Can someone break this down Simple for me?
I’ve read that Ben will get picked at 40 tonight and Lucas at 67?
Are clubs simply not bidding on them because it’s assumed we will match and because we have the ability to match easily? Or are they in reality not top 20 draft prospects if not for father/son, but just decent depth players that really were always destined for second round?
Never seen them play, just read conflicting reports about them either being good or superstars and being the stronger of the two.
What im getting at is this a case of ashcrofting where he was in reality the #1 if it weren’t for father/son side deals and handshake agreements?
