Bluetooth device needed to connect to 1997 Douglas Fir Talking Christmas tree.

Hello All, remember in the late 90s the talking Christmas trees were all the rage? I distinctly remember my friend’s parents hooking up their boom box to the Douglas Fir Christmas tree and playing a cassette tape of The Who - See Me, Feel Me, and it was hysterical!

I wanted to see if I can recreate this jocularity, and found a brand new Douglas Fir Christmas tree on eBay from 1997! It’s my 3rd one, lol. The first one I didn’t realize they made two versions, one that doesn’t have aux in and one that does. First one bought, no aux, sigh. Second one, sensor broke and would only play once and not active after playing. 3rd one works great!

I have an Echo Dot Input device that uses the aux, 3.5mm cable to push Pandora to my old Bose Mini 2 speaker and thought that would work. I connected via Bluetooth on my iPhone to the input device and when I push music the tree isn’t responding correctly you can faintly here the canned music playing, Jingle Bells, when the aux wire is connected and no music from my phone. I then tried an Echo Dot speaker that has aux out and that did push the Pandora music to the tree speaker, but the eyes and mouth do not activate to the music.

The instructions state, “that it will only work using headphone jack, other audio jacks will not work. In this mode a portable CD player or other audio component with a headphone jack will also work.” Being that the two Echo devices aren’t considered to be headphone jacks I assume that is the reason it is not playing as expected.

So my question is there a Bluetooth device that I can sync my iPhone to and output via headphone out using aux cable and the tree will sync and work like the old boom box or is this never going to work because I using new technology vs old technology?

My new DIY speakers in place

So, these are new recently built The boxes are recycled 1 cu ft PE finished boxes. I just machined the face board, from laminated bamboo, and put a satin poly on it. The drivers are Transducer Labs matched pair of N26MG-A tweeters and Sartori MW19P-8 midwoofers. The crossover is a 12 dB design with a 6 dB pot on the tweeter - to match themMidwoofer. The stands are monoprice 19" stands filled with steel shot.

    Spotted on a Tour

Did a tour of the Khalil House, a Frank Lloyd Wright House in Manchester NH today, and this was on display. It was not on and according to the guides was only driving a single monaural speaker but still thought it was pretty cool (as was the house)

Can anyone please help me choose what amplifier I should get?! I just got a pair of Klipsch RP 8000F ii speakers and need an amp asap but struggling to decide

I mostly play music from my turntable, which is new, and from a cable aux adapter or my Bluetooth adapter. I have an old pioneer receiver that u haven't used a single HDMI cord and it's overly complicated and I abhor it. I did use the iPod USB input in front of it also.

Looking for an amp that will make new Klipsch shine, having Bluetooth or USB port would be a bonus but not deal breaker same with having subwoofer input.

My room is pretty big, 15x20 feet. It's a big cozy living room with fireplace. I have had many speakers I know wiring and run it fully across the room. I just hate the receiver I have it's like rocket science trying to figure out how to get 5 speakers to play. So I'd like something simpler and good quality but budget friendly. Less than $750

I've been looking at marantz and Cambridge audio specifically.

    I appreciate any help!!!!

    Covered my KEFs

Ended up buying the covers for my KEF Q150s. Between our cleaners and a new cat we might be getting, I was just getting too nervous. Now that they're on they actually look better than I expected. No noticeable sound difference that I can tell.

Can I play a 7.1 setup from an analog source?

Sorry if this is a noob question, I’m new to avrs. I can get this Marantz SR 6004, if I connect my turntable to it, will it play on all speakers in a 7.1 setup? Or would I need an external sound card?
