Roast my opinion (not me).

Turretless tank such as strv103 has a critical problem compared with regular tanks. The problem is speed and accuracy of targeting. It is very hard to fix because Newton physics affects the matter.

Targeting problem;

  1. For targeting enemy, turretless tank must move chassis. It is more than 30 tons. Even though regular tanks must move only turret mass (yaw movement) and gun barrel weight (pitch movement). The yaw movement by regular tanks may move a half of total weight (=turret), it may be 15 tons. Pitch movement by regular tanks may move less than 5 tons. Turretless tank need much larger hydro pump than regular tanks. They mean turretless tank taking time for targeting and not the same targeting accuracy as regular tanks. Unfortunately.

  2. When turretless tank has yaw movement for targeting, the chassis must move on the ground. If the ground is well flat and hard, nothing problem. If the ground was worse like mud or large stones, turretless tank can't move well. For prevent such the yaw movement difficult, turretless tank need more larger hydro pump, even though regular tanks move on very flat and smooth turret bearings. The pump for turretless tank may expensive and low accuracy. Regular tanks don't need to have large hydro pump.

  3. If the catapiller stucked on rough ground, the tank can't target. It will be an iron box at the battle field.

  4. Such the unstable condition, targeting system (FCS) on turretless tank can not use advanced feed/forward (loop/active) control well. Only use poor passive control.

Other problem;

  1. And more turretless tank can't have larger chassis because both "Square–cube law" and Newton law affects the design.

 Above reasons turretless tank can't be true MBT.

What is this company?

I found this while looking through my dad's old things from Vietnam, looked it up and never found anything. Any ideas?
