Is the best way to do this to drop down to T-IV or so?
Hey all, apologies if my question here is stupid, what I'm curious about is transferring crew between my premium and my tree tank. The notification says I'm able to do so without any penalty, but when I do it, the crew is red, and I get notification that the crew is not trained for this vehicle? I'm guessing you can't do that between nations, which is fine, but is it the same with tank type? What I'm trying here is btw light and medium.
I like writing long stuff, so heres my take on Skill based MM and why it should never see the light of the game in any form.
Feel free to discuss, Ill probably reply to anything that makes sense in any way.
So, there are many reasons why different forms of matchmaking being based on player's performance and stats wont work, and I want to discuss this, because I've seen a lot of wishes for it recently.
=====Forms=====
First of all, I think there are 2 main forms of skill based MM.
One is, that a player will only be matched against and with players on his level, making WoT into a ranked-based game, like League or so.
For example, a 6000 wtr player will be in this "WG rank" Ace, and be only matched against other Ace players.
Second is, that the matchmaking will happen like normally, but players will be switched between each other until the total score of the team is balanced.
For example, you switch a 10000 wtr player from one team for a 4000 wtr player from other team, so that the averages of both teams become equal.
These are probably the only 2 forms of a skill based MM, which could be done in many different ways, but none will work properly.
=====Why form 1 wont work=====
First and most obvious, all the game stats are based on the fact that you fight RANDOM players, and in long term you have to be better than average to have positive-half winrate, to have better than x% MoE, etc.
Making yourself fight only players on your "rank" will only make one thing important, and thats how much can you win before getting stuck in your rank. Any sort of "doing good in your games and farming as much for MoE" will never be possible in such conditions"
WoT is a long term game, many players have tens of thousands of battles. It isnt ready for this kind of "play before you grt stuck and leave". Long term players is what keeps this game alive.
Also, having victory the only thing that matters, people will be way more toxic on temamates because if one guy fucks up, youre almost guaranteed to lose.
And researching stock tanks will be almost impossible.
Next major error is that players could rig their stats to fight bad players, and then proceed to get insane dpgs and gunmarks on any tank while fighting 2000 wtr players, while also ruining your team's games to achieve the low wtr to get into their matchmaking.
Shortly - game will completely lose its core stat mechanics and core players.
=====Why form 2 wont work=====
Lets say you swap the players and make the teams balanced. Sounds amazing on paper, doesnt it?
But why will this never work? Lets say the matchmaker switches a very good ELC player for 4 above average players in stock tanks, making averages equal, but still, any light tank map will be lost insantly, and because of swapping, one team doesnt have any good light tank players and other team does.
"So what, you just bring the classes in the calculation somehow, and its solved." No its not. This time, one team gets 3 good AMX 50B players on Himmelsdorf, other team get a platoon of 3 good Obj. 260s. One team gets a unicum in stock tank, other team gets a unicum in Bourrasque.
By acknowledging this, WG would either:
Have to make a complete rebalance of the game, including changing characteristics of hundreds of premiums, so that all tanks are somewhat equal (which still wont work because different tanks have different sub-classes).
Acknowledging the inbalance but not solving it and bringing the tank rating into the calculation.
And in the end, you will still need to rate every tank for every map and bring it to already insanely complex matchamking calculation, and even after all of this, theres still player's still for different tanks.
So in the end, you will end up with unorganized chaos which will never work properly and as intended, wasting tons of work.
=====Conclusion=====
You just cant make a matchmaker that makes the games better.
Every way brings tons of problems, either entirely breaking the game's core, or trying to achieve the impossible and making calculations so complex that it can never work properly.
I used to play on the ASIA server, but I relocated to Europe because of uni. I have been grinding the Soviet heavy line (<500 games, I have Obj 257) and I need a premium tank that can both train my future crew and make good credits.
There is a bundle called "Object 703 Version II: Assault Force". There is no timer for the bundle to expire, but I reckon it will expire when the days of rental is over (I have four days remaining)... right? The issue is that I get my paycheck at the end of the month and I don't want to blow 50 euros for gold as a uni student. Any suggestions?

Hi guys, i have a question for people useing geforce now, is there a way for the client to remember my account so i dont have to login everytime? Its kinda annoying + WoT captcha is making me go mad everytime i have to enter it. And yes i tried "remember me" button, but for some reason it does not work. Same as option to login from the website and remembering account there.
We know its a matter of time to be flooded with these post so lets talk about how we did with them.

If you want to know my approach, i did all arty missions (t55a 15th without secondary) exept for the last 260 set, and then i clicked 4 sets on 260.. Cant see myself returning to finish the rest any time soon. These missions arent even close to being skill based. They make you play like total donkey becouse you need to hit that one last arty or kill a TDs so you ignore everything else. Its so frustrating loading into the battle with MT15 active and seeing ONE single grille... After that, you go play some heavies to bounce and BOOM... E3, E4, Hori, and some other high pen TD. Oh boy.. dont get me started about bonce missions... They apparently think that "actively triing to get shot at and bounce" is a thing... I am so relieved and so pissed at the same time.
I don't know... I Gona scream This tank... It has literally nothing for it going and even when you Try to Use the High pen low dmg gun... You just a Trash Medium.... Can someone explain to me why WG has done nothing to Atleast make him viable after Nerfing the Tank to the Hell by "Reworking" the HE.... Comon I mean 110 Pen at Tier 8?
So my idea was (I'm currently finishing T55a) Collect all orders so 15 in total and do the 260 mission, LT 15 with excellence to get the 16th ororder and skip the rest ?

Two brand-new vehicles are ready to enter the Supertest today. The first is the IMT, a Tier VIII American medium tank, and it is joined by the TS-6, a Tier IX American heavy tank.
IMT
The IMT is a Tier VIII American medium tank. Its main feature is a 105 mm gun with good one-time damage of 360 HP and –10° of maximum depression. The hull armor of the IMT is weak, and its turret armor is mediocre; only the gun mantlet can block enemy shells relatively often.
The mobility of the IMT is average by medium tank standards, but its top speed of 50 km/h still allows it to move around the map more or less comfortably.
Battle Role
The IMT should provide fire support for allies when it is part of a medium tank pack, and use terrain folds when playing solo.
TS-6
The Tier IX American TS-6 heavy tank boasts outstanding frontal turret and hull armor, making it highly effective in direct engagements. Its 120 mm gun delivers respectable alpha damage of 460 HP with a standard AP shell. The tank's reload time is 13.3 seconds, and its aiming time is 2.7 seconds.
However, the TS-6 has limited mobility, with a top forward and reverse speeds of 32 km/h and a reverse speed of 14 km/h, respectively.
Battle Role
The TS-6 excels in the classic heavy tank role. Use its durable armor to secure key positions, break through enemy lines, and dominate on the frontlines.

As a player who maybe spends a few dollars on the game just about once in a blue moon, are the boxes really worth their price? Mainly, do they improve the expierience of the game in long run? And if so, how much is the ideal amount?
For starters I’ve been a long time WT player, going on 8 years. I’ve tried WoT a few times over the years and it’s always peaked my interest, but never enough to stick with it. Finally getting to the point that I’m tired of Gaijins antics and considering giving WoT another go.
Been doing my research and I’m always seeing posts about “gold ammo” and “OP Prems” but I was hoping yall could fill me in on the bigger picture.
Is the game worth diving into in 2024? Or has its heyday come and gone?
Not greedy, just asking is there a chance we'll get more large boxes for free or is it over? any leaks? how was it last year?
Hi. I remember some years ago, in 2017-2019 I reckon, there was a fan made video/song "Twelve days of tanksmas" where he sang what WG gave to him. Don't remember the complete lyrics, only "Fiiiiiiive hundered gooooold" ... can anyone remember this? I can't find it anywhere....
