Welcome to r/tanks, the subreddit for all things tanks! Whether it's about a question about a tank's history, a discussion about tanks, or just a cool photo/art piece of a tank, it's welcome here! (It’s not just tanks here, all AFVs are welcome!)

I'm making a tank card game where photographs of the actual tanks are on the cards, but I could only find pics that were either of the tank but the gun was removed or where it was blurry and way in the background. I'll have to scrap the card if I don't find a good pic and Japan really needs a heavy-hitting card like the Chi-Ri would be. Any help would be appreciated!

Does somebody know about the force acting on trunnion part of the cannon when the tanks fires a round. I need a rought idea. I want to know the force in Newtons or lb-f. Thanks in advance
A Russian tank company has 3 platoons of 3 tanks plus its HQ tank (10 total). A Russian tank battalion has 3 companies plus its HQ tank (31 total). A Russian tank regiment/brigade has three tank battalions, which would be 93 tanks in total. However, I have read that a Russian tank regiment/brigade sometimes has 94 tanks total instead of 93 so I'd like to know what the correct number is.
I am also not talking about a Russian Motor Rifle brigade/regiment here.
I’m looking for informed opinions here - what does tank design in the future look like? Like battleships it was all about armour and armament until AirPower rendered them obsolete. Now we have ATGMs and even $1000 drones taking out multimillion dollar tanks on a daily basis. That said, sending waves of humans on foot also fails. So how does it look going forward? Does it matter if my tank is better than your tank when it’s all a question of attrition at the hands of artillery, mines, guided missiles, and drones?
I'm trying to look for youtubers who do mostly videos on cold war era tanks/aircraft, but I can't find anything.
Preferably channels that don't have super-long videos (past 45mins) and whose videos aren't boring to watch/listen to. Something like ConeOfArc if he focussed on Cold War tech. Or History of Everything if he was a tanktuber.
Just thought u guys would like to see it even though it’s not a tank, it’s an apc. the Tv show, the man in the high castle, made some interesting choices with regards to what vehicles they chose to represent German vehicles of a alternative 1960s. The stryker only shows up for a few seconds in this one episode and all other armor gets the same treatment, only a few seconds at the edge of the screen. Despite the fact that in this alternative nazi’s win ww2 universe we would have seen the most insane wunderwaffen panzers, in this universe, their main MBT’s are T-54/55 and T-62. The second most used vehicle in this fictitious Nazi army seems to be the BTR-60PB. Has anyone else noticed the “Opposite Day” choices in armored vehicles casting in this show? Seeing a Stryker with SS markings was a little… well my breath was taken aback. Why would the army let them film this? Are strykers available on the market? (I’m in Florida).
yeah i know its not practical. hell it would probably fall foward, let alone firing the gun/storing ammo. i wanna know if its possible
Some constructive criticism will be appreciated to help improve my design further.
I was playing a mobile game about CIWS and SPAA's when I saw the Abrams was in the game. This had me wondering if the Abrams could work as an AA in real life, excluding its machine guns, only using its cannon.
The tracks were hurried, hence the funked posture..
I totally forgot to post my progress to you guys. Currently at 23 hours spent with this drawing as right now I’m currently working on the second Abrams.
(This is based off one of the focused characters in my novel so the unit markings are not based off irl.)
