dumb question but how does the M1A1 Tank Commander spot targets for the gunner if it doesnt have an independent thermal view? is it through the vision block? or they do they always need to peak and use binoculars?
I believe it's aome kind of a tractor
I was hoping someone would be able to help me identify the tank in the photo. The photo is of my grandfather (middle) in Vietnam the writing on the back of the photo says they hit 2 mines, were immobilized and had to unload the tank. If it helps at all my grandfather served from November 1966 to October of 68, he was in the C Troop 3 Squadron 5th Cavalry. His Form 46 states he is qualified for the M-60a1 but from what I gather the M-60a1 tanks were never sent to Vietnam. Any help is appreciated
