If Obi-wan wanted to troll Vader...

"Lord Vader, there was a package delivered for you. It's in your meditation alcove." a Lieutenant told him.

Darth Vader strode into his meditation alcove and saw the wrapped present sitting on the control panel. He reached out with the Force and the package moved to him.

He sensed something...

Ripping the wrapping off, he was left holding a strange bottle in his hand. It had a cap at each end of the clear container and a power cord, and globs of some sort floating in a liquid inside the container.

There was a note attached that said:

"You plug this in and let it heat up. The blobs inside moving around are supposed to be soothing.

See you,

Obi-wan."

On the back of the note was the name of the device. It said:

LAVA LAMP

Vader yelled, "NOOOOOOO!"

Kenobi and book of boba fett hate?

I’m not saying that either show was perfect, but there is some genuine vitriolic hatred for both of these specific shows. I don’t understand why there is this vicious attitude towards these projects. It reminds me of the hatred the prequels and Lucas received.

A couple of questions

I no longer have Disney+ so I can't rewatch.... And it's been a minute since I watched the series. Can anyone tell me what planet Obi-Wan and Vader fought on in the last episode? Also, was it covered how Obi-wan got to tatooine afterwards, so fast? I am assuming we had to just understand that the two battles weren't happening concurrently in time. Thanks.

How exactly does Vader feel both love and hate for Obi-Wan?

He goes on a rampage seeking revenge on him for leaving him to burn alive which is the reason why he’s stuck wearing that suit but it’s said that he also misses his best friend.

How does the whole respeecher thing work?

So it is said that it was really a respeecher and not James Earl Jones himself voicing Darth Vader in the show which explains why did he sound like he did in the original movies.

In-Universe Reason for Why Lightsabers are so Weak Now

So here's the official in-universe explanation:

Apparently women and kids in the Star Wars universe, have weaker stabbing strength than men. Full stop. End of story. Something to do with Midichlorians. (And give Disney a break u guys because I swear this was in George Lucas' notes on the Sequel Trilogy he never got to make).

Women and kids are so weak in fact, that it takes a split-second longer for their lightsaber blades to pass through a person's body, which slowness creates an unexpected phasing-in-and-out malfunction of the beams of light in a lightsaber whereby the blade loses its sharpness and basically becomes a hot flashlight rapidly blinking on and off while still managing to travel through individual layers of muscle, tissue, bone, and body fluid....until it's retracted with the same weak force of body and the same sensation is experienced as the blade leaves the body. In short, it's painful, and leaves a nasty burn mark, but it's decidedly not fatal.

Again ripping off a concept from Frank Herbert, Lucas envisioned this phenomena as something like the effect of a knife moving slowly through a personal (Holtzman) shield in Frank Herbert's Dune novels- moving quickly, it bounces right off. But with just the right slowed-down speed and force, it will pass right through the portable energy emitting device's defensive shield and into the kill zone. Same principle, but essentially inverted to apply to a lightsaber beam passing through an organic body at slow speed. Get it?

Now there's an in-universe explanation if I ever heard one, folks!!

Women and kids are weaker then men. That's why they can't kill by stabbing with a lightsaber.

And you can't even blame that one on Kathleen Kennedy!

But the true tragedy is that by extending this logic Across the Universe, we come to realize that Vader too also has shitty lightsaber stabbing skills, clearly lacking sufficient force and speed (as evidenced in Kenobi the Show), as an unfortunately foreseeable result of his debilitating injuries which led to the creation of his robot arms, and poor piston-technology present in Soviet-created (I mean Imperial-created!) prosthetic technology available to Palpatine at the time of ROTS.

Which leads us to the unfortunate but inevitable conclusion that in the Star Wars Universe women, kids, and amputees with prosthetic limbs (eg Darth Vader) all lack sufficient strength/speed to stab someone to death with a lightsaber.

But they can slice, slash, or hack you to death with a laser-blade any day of the week.

Neckbeards and Incels rejoice! Disney's first and only technical DEI failure has finally been exposed, and there's nothing they can do about it anymore!!

(This entire comment is intended as sarcasm for those of you who can't tell. The reality is far worse- the truth behind the recent ineffectiveness of lightsabers can only honestly be attributed to LAZY WRITING.)

More seasons?

There are so many more Kenobi stories to tell. I keep hearing the new show details, but it's there any news or rumors about more Kenobi?

Did they edit the show after release?

Maybe I’m late to the party, but I was rewatching Kenobi episode 5, and I swear they de-aged Hayden Christiansen when they flash back to the Clone Wars. It obviously wasn’t like that when the show first aired, so does anyone know if they re-edited after release?

The scene with Vader’s suit up

It sure is played out very intense, with the music and everything, because it just shows how horrific his injuries are and how little Anakin has left of his humanity.

E1Purrgil reference

Started a rewatch last night and caught something I missed the first time that I thought was kinda funny and a nice connection to other parts of the universe.

In the scene where Bail Organa is talking to Leia on the balcony, he tells her about how when he was her age he wanted to live "waaayyyy out there" past the mountains and "chase Purrgil".

AFAIK the Purrgil were introduced, and played a significant role in Rebels (which came out before OWK), but OWK takes place +/- 5 years before Rebels "in in universe".

Bash me and downvote me if you want, but I thought it was kinda interesting.

Third Sister - Big Star connection?

Hi, this is something totally stupid that's been rattling around in my brain, but I'm putting it out there in the world anyway. Was the character name Third Sister inspired by the Big Star album Third/Sister Lovers? Every time I hear that name, it makes me think of the album.

I know this might be a bit of a stretch, but then I remember that J.J. Abrams named Captain Phasma after the movie Phantasm, so it's not completely out of the realm.

I figured that I would try here in hopes of finding someone with more knowledge about the development of the character. Thanks for putting up with my nonsense.

Looking for a recap with clone wars scenes

Hello,

So before the first episode of Kenobi starts, there's a recap that shows major scenes from the prequels and just sums up the story. Is there an edit out there with scenes from the clone wars?

S1 E2 Reva alluding to Batman?

In S1 E2 Reva is atop a building looking down, with camera angles and film style heavily reminiscent of some batman scenes. The following scene of her has her dead dropping off the edge just like the masked vigilante would do. Does anyone know if this was intentional/did anyone else notice this?
