I believe that in trials of the darksaber, Sabine was subtly drawing on the dark side of the force (subconsciously ofc), which helped her overpower Kanan. Plus, it looks like she tapped into it again during her training with Ahsoka in 1x03 of the Ahsoka series, however, unlike Kanan (though, it's possible he purposely provoked her into using her emotions in order to overcome her mental block - at least temporarily, but who knows) her master saw it coming. "Ahsoka feared that if Sabine unlocked her potential, she would become dangerous." 👀
Maybe the show mentioned it and I missed it. Does anyone know for sure.
Ok can we talk about how 3 inquisitors thought they could take on maul in twilight of the apprentice part 2. These 3 ametures (the inquisitors) thought they could take on the original double sided Saber weilding baddie and they struggled it shows how weak the inquisitors were.
I noticed something cool about the Biblical references behind Kanan's two names (Kanan and Caleb)...
I was rewatching the final and one of the reasons the rebels didn’t launch the dome is that the admirals ship would crash on top of the city. Soooo didn’t the purgil ram into some of the other ships not just do that exact thing? I’m sure somebody will say the shields are only now but we have seen physical things pass through shields several times throughout Star Wars so didn’t they just wipe out tons of people why not just launch the dome?
When the crew is fight with maul in ghost in s3 e3 (the Holocron of fate). They lead him to cargo hold and choppers magnetizes the ceiling. Mauls light saber stays in his hands. Odd.
When Maul says, "Your passions give you strength and through strength you gain power. You have seen it, you feel it. You must break your chains." Still gives me chills to hear it on the screen. As a fan KOTOR this just made my day. That's it. Just wanted to praise that moment.
Turned out not to bad for a few hours work
On my most recent Rebels rewatch, this whole sequence from "Zero Hour: Part 1" stood out to me as a bit of striking character/theme work:
Okay, honestly not sure if this has ever been brought up before? Or maybe I just watch this series waaaaaaaay more than others in the SW Universe.
But lately as I'm dad'n around the house. Doing dishes, chores ect, have my ear buds in and listening to the dialog in the show, between Phoenix Squadron and especially Hera... it's almost like you can understand what Chopper is saying if you let your imagination fill it the gaps..??
Anybody else??? Should I just go smoke another one?? Serious thoughts?? Maaaaybeeee cut back on how much I really truly watch this show 🤣
Edit-Context; I really started to noticed this phenomenon in Ashoka (which, yes. I know is not SWR), but last episode when Ezra finally got back home disguised as one of Thrawn's Stormtroopers. Chopp rolled up slowly in the shuttle bay...and I heard... "Ezra"..?? But of course it was actually Chopps wah wah?? As I kept rewatching the series it was like I understood what he was saying more and more!! Fun discussion I guess🍻
Edit 2- yes, sometimes I am not watching my screen. I dont always get a chance to sit down and watch the amazing series like I would like to, as my family is a tornado of craziness and I'm doing what I can to clean up and maintain 🍻
I know there's a ton of lore in the old EU, and maybe some in the new, but did Rebels/Asohka ever address why a non- human is so far up the empire's food chain?
I can understand not wanting to address racism in a kids show, but seems like there would be some kind of throw away "he's one of the good ones" or anything alluding to the bigger motives he had in the old EU while chatting with the sisters.
It's the one plot hole in the filoni-verse that's really sticking in my craw.
Thought it might be fun to see everyone’s thoughts on the “what if?” Scenario of Ezra becoming Maul’s apprentice.
I feel like season 3, episode 11 gives us a really interesting glance into it. Filoni really did some interesting work here, where Maul got them into some deep shit with the ghosts of the nightsisters and instructed Ezra along the way, but in a way that felt wrong compared to Kanan teaching him.
Would it be different if Ezra was willingly working with Maul and straight up down to clown on being a dark boi, or is Maul inherently selfish as it pertains to his “mission”, despite being wronged by the Sith at every crucial junction in his life?
I don’t want to rewatch that particular set of episodes right now because, well… you know
I just got thinking about the ghost crew never got to say a proper goodbye to Kanan. Ezra kinda did through some weird force stuff with the Dume wolf
But other than that I don’t remember them holding an actual funeral for him
