Observatory is going through a live music rebirth right now! All along Lower Main Road you can now find local live bands playing at venues like The Obscene Parrot, TrenchTown, Armchair, Ground Culture and more, on any given night from Thursday-Sunday. There are still DJ’s from all over to enjoy, but there’s a heavy focus in that area on live music right now. The return of TrenchTownBandNights, initiated by a member of rock band “Cistamatic” (@holskopper on instagram), and the opening of Nappy Studios (@nappystudioza) by members of the activist band “Operation Khataza” are proof!! You can find anything from jazz, rock, Afro-folk, R&B and all sorts of fusions on any given weekend in Observatory. I think there’s something special in the obs air at the moment, I advice all those seeking local live music experiences to check it out.
Can anyone help me find this track. This is how we sang along to it when I was a kid, but it’s a dance track. I’m convinced Frank Ocean sampled in Pyramids or at least references it.
Can any old dance head help?
It was popular in the late 80s I think.

Die Melkery in Kempton Park once again, served as the backdrop for the South African Blues Association annual boutique festival. Filling the stage with two days of non-stop music and ever overflowing vibes, it's definitely worthy of being scratched into your calendar for next year. Especially if you're in Gauteng.
Hey! I’ve recently started listening heavily to Xhosa artists like Sun-El Musician, Simmy, Sino Msolo, Msaki, Samthing Soweto… I love the sound and feel of the language, but I find it a bit difficult finding smaller upcoming artists.
Do you have any recommendations? I’m particularly interested in Xhosa artists that have a track record of experimenting with different (electronic) genres :)
Hey guys! I was scanning some old family tapes from the 90s, in one of them, of a birthday party dating July 95 or 94, there is this song playing which I can't, for the life of me, find. Shazam and other apps can't find it either. I assume it is because there is background noise. It would be very important to me to find it. If anyone knows the song, I would truly appreciate it!
Here's a link of the sample I have.
Thank you very much in advance, y'all!

I normally don't post much on reddit, but I thought i'd share it here.
about a year or so ago I was looking for some local musician management - and I found this company called Dune Music.. they are a complete management company I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give them a shot and was decently surprised on the results.
to put it in some perspective, I was doing music for a bout 6 year averaging around 20 monthly listeners (really bad I know lol) so I was desperate. after the second/third month with them I am now sitting at about 980 monthly listeners, verified on youtube music. and starting to build a decent social media following as well.
if there are any musicians that always looked for decent management I'd definitely recommend them. they do everything related to your music even social media management
Let's make it happen 🔥🔥🔥🔥🇿🇦🤝🏽🇿🇦💯🤝🏽🤧🔥🤌🌹

the music is really soothing. i want to know the full music. thank you.
Go check out my bands performance from the live room with France the Planet.
While the tickets are pretty affordable and the lineup is not bad, I have doubts since I cannot find any (recent) reviews of the music festival (for example, how safe it is, if the amenities available are decent, ect...).
Thanks for any advice in advance.
