Hi everyone!
My wife and I are visiting South Africa soon from India and are really excited about our trip! A big highlight will be the drive from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town over three days. We’ve heard it’s one of the most beautiful routes, with wildlife, stunning coastlines, and majestic mountains.
However, as the trip gets closer, we’re starting to feel a bit anxious about safety. We’ve read some concerning things about crime and carjackings in certain areas. We’re wondering if anyone has advice on how to stay safe during the drive or what to do in stressful situations.
Here are some specific questions we have: • Are there areas or times we should avoid driving? • What precautions should we take while parking or stopping along the route? • Any tips for dealing with unexpected situations like breakdowns? • Are there resources or emergency numbers we should keep handy?
Also, if you’ve done this drive, we’d love to hear about your experiences—what to look out for and any must-visit spots!
Thanks so much in advance for your tips and advice. We’re looking forward to experiencing the beauty of South Africa safely!
