So. I bought these for the dimming functions because I'm prone to migraines and light sensitivity with bright lights, and since I own a Roku tv I thought "it can't go wrong!"
It did, my bulbs are no longer connecting in the Smart Home app due to I'm assuming that my WiFi provider no longer supports 2.4Ghz networks or.. Something. I don't know. Our non-5G network isn't showing up anymore as an option to connect (they were in the same modem since at least 2020).
So now not only can I not control my lights in the app, now I tried manually reconnecting one to my 5G WiFi not knowing the app doesn't support it and now while the bulb works, it's stuck at 100% brightness and my head is absolutely pounding.
I'm not having fun anymore. I just want my soft red lights. I'm devastated and idk enough about these kinds of tech to fix it and I doubt opening an actual ticket on the support site will do anything. I just had to rant.
As the title says. Roku starts, the letters dance, then the screen goes black and the device won't respond to the remote. I've tried hitting the reset button, a hard reboot, even moving the Roku to another tv with a different power supply and HDMI cable. Same thing. Anybody have any idea whats going on?
Whenever I'm watching or just listening to songs my Roku tv will just turn off, I've had to take out the batteries but it still randomly turns off. I've been thinking it could possibly be a family member using the app to turn it of but if that's not the answer, what is?
Me And My Family Have Tried Stuff But It Has Not Worked Yet
Our Roku TV randomly turns on and off all of a sudden. When we turn it on, some times it immediately powers off again and we have to turn it on again. Likewise, when we turn it off, sometimes it just randomly powers off again after 5-15 minutes. Anyone else seeing this problem?
About a month ago our roku stopped being able to stream from any app. It is connected to the internet, and i have also tried connecting to my phone hotspot to see if that fixes the problem. It will load animations and thumbnails, but will not show previews when hovering on youtube, and will not load any content once selected (it shows play bar and empty thumbnail boxes as if it trying to load in but can't). On netflix it will show loading circle and get stuck indefinitely at 82%. Anyway, thought it would just fix itself eventually but doesn't seem like it will lol. pls help, i need my background youtube ambient videos
Essentially, what happens is when I turn my TV on, everything else turns on fine, but it opens on the Roku TV home screen. I press "media box" on my receivers remote to try yo get the TV to switch to it so I can get to my Google TV box, but the TV refuses to switch to it. I even go to the "AV Receiver" input from the home screen but it says "No Signal, is it on?" on the screen, even though it is definitely on. It only works after pressing buttons on my Google TV remote several times, and I still haven't figured out how many times, because it varies. Anybody got any ideas?
I just tried to use the streaming store today and i dont understand and hate it. I just wanted to find an app like Pluto, and the Roku app to add to my home screen. It is now only showing specific shows from what I can see and no where could I find a list of all apps to add. i eventually gave up in frustration.
Can anyone give me directions to the old list of apps please? I would be very appreciative.
Hello!
My Roku TV was working last night. When I woke up this morning, it allowed me to select an app and then promptly factory reset itself! I've connected the wifi and now it refuses to stop checking for updates. I've unplugged it, as well as reset the modem.
Are there any other solutions you guys can think of? I'm not sure what model I have as the packaging is long gone and the TV itself is maybe 4 years old? Thanks!
I have a digital media library of my bluray movie collection on a media server and use Plex server and the Plex channel on my Roku Ultra to view them (Audio goes to Yamaha receiver) . Currently with my Ultra 4640 the main audio track (Dolby TrueHD/Atmos or DTS-HD Master) get transcoded to DD+ by Plex. My understanding is that this was due to the 4640 not being able to handle the audio tracks and not having an option to passthrough to the receiver.
I plan to get the Roku Ultra 2024 4850R and I was wondering if this newer model will handle the above lossless multichannel audio or allow passthrough or if it will still need to transcode?
I bought a sealed Roku at Target. Get home, set it up and open Hulu, and it’s logged into someone’s account. HBO plus is logged in under a different name, AND Peacock is logged in under ANOTHER name. Three services logged in under different names, and I’ve been using them for 3 months now and haven’t been kicked off.
What is the meaning of this?! How did this happen??
I’ve been trying to set up AirPlay to mirror my MacBook screen using a Roku Express 4K connected to my 27-inch BenQ monitor. AirPlay is enabled on the Roku, with the “Require Code” option set to “First Time Only.” When I attempt to extend the display from my MacBook, sure enough the "Roku Express 4K" appears in the list and when I select it, I’m prompted to enter the code displayed on the monitor. After entering the code, I get an “Incorrect code” message, and it keeps asking me to enter the code again. No code seems to be accepted, and using the password option doesn’t work either. Can anyone help me solve this issue? I suspect it may require opening a specific port on my router but I have no clue which port.
We have two TVs that have slides playing through Photo Streams I guess 24/7. I tried updating them the other day to a new stream and I get the message "Unable to access Photo Streams" with an option to retry.
Is this a server side issue? I was planning on resetting the devices but it's a bit of a hassle signing in and getting on the network and all that.
I use the converter cable to connect a usb 3.0 to my Roku express 4k+. The picture is great, but occasionally the screen tears and warps for about 10 seconds or so. Sometimes it’ll go hours without doing it, other times it’ll happen more frequently. Any idea what could be causing this? The USB works great with other TVs in my house. It plays at Dolby HDR if that matters, haven’t tried a different setting yet.
I’m sure this gets posted to the Sub on a regular basis, but I’ve looked all over online, and I can’t find an answer. I’ve moved to a new house with new WiFi, but I can’t find my Roku remote. I can’t use the app, because I can’t connect my stick to the new WiFi without the actual remote, and the voice remote (no pairing button) won’t auto connect. I have run a power cycle on the Roku stick, and I have removed the batteries and reinserted them in the remote multiple times. I have also left it to sit for a minute or more, then came back to find the status light on the remote begins flashing when I press any of the buttons with no response from the Roku menu.
I am just really hoping I didn’t waste $20 on a defective remote.
Edit: I realized the problem. I have the wrong cord. I used just a random Micro-USB cord I had lying around, I didn’t realize the receiver for the remote is imbedded in the cord.
I just bought a LG C4 today. I have a discontinued Roku premier plus.
Should I use just the apps, on the LG, my live TV service is Hulu or upgrade to the 2024 Roku ultra
Premiere constantly buffers live TV. I personally would be fine with just the apps but my wife loves the simplicity of the roku
Does anyone know how to disable HDR for an Onn Roku TV running software version 14.0? The secret menu and settings doesn’t have HDR settings.
I'm trying (And failing miserably) to find what brand has the same CEC commands as my AVGO NN55LU flatscreen tv (Non-smart) from 2017ish. I've googled around and the only relevant info on some brands to try yielded no results.
I have a Roku Ultra and apparently this brand is not in the database. I want to be able to control the tv audio/other functions via the roku remote. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated!
This has been happening to me for a few months now, the buttons on the controller randomly stop responding, the controller works but the buttons occasionally stop working, I tried with new batteries and it still happens, what could be the cause?
Do Roku devices get hardware updates over the years?
I bought a 4k streaming stick+ in 2018, if I buy a new one today will it perform the same? I feel like my stick over heats easily when streaming, specifically 4k content. I assume it's because 4k is much more resource intensive than SD or HD. Would a newer version have newer hardware and be better able to handle it? Or would it be the same and I'd need to get a better model, like the ultra?
Hi everyone. I have a Roku 4K Ultra and I’ve always had it connected perfectly fine to a TV. However, I want to now connect it to my monitor. When both the monitor and the Roku are initially plugged in, everything is fine. However, when I turn off the monitor and turn it back on, the monitor will say “input not supported.” I tried multiple HDMI cables and ports, but nothing is working.
Has anyone experienced this and have any suggestions? I appreciate any help.
I have a RokuTV, TCL 75R617. Got tired of the Roku OS being slow and laggy. Bought an AppleTV that I hooked into the HDMI. Setup went great. Used the AppleTV remote exclusively. It turned on the TV, TV went right to the input, ready to go.
Roku's October OS update broke this. Now the TV won't automatically switch to any input when it's turned on, it just stays at the home screen until you select an input.
When the power is off, pressing the AppleTV remote's power button to turn on the TV now makes the TV go to the Roku home menu. Setting the default power on to the HDMI input doesn't fix this. Using the AppleTV remote to turn off the TV now turns it off for a second before it goes back on to the home menu.
Can anyone help?
Hi. I'm struggling to get my screen saver to stay on for more than 10 seconds. I have 2 devices and they're both doing it. I've tried different things in the settings and updates an everything I can think to do but it's not working it still just comes on after 1 minute inactivity then maybe count of 5 it's off onto the main screen again an noones touching the remote. Any help?
