hey everyone, i currently work on campus at byu as an RA and i am barely living paycheck to paycheck. what places in provo, preferably on the north side of byu by freedom blvd/university pkwy have been good to work at? decent pay, good management, flexible scheduling, etc. i’ve applied to swig, starbucks, and target, but they all said they’re not currently hiring. thanks!
Church on Grandview was broken into, flooded, windows were smashed and the organ busted up. I get that people hate religion and have past trauma, but vandalism is ridiculous and costly.
Hey yall! Lookin to see if there are any Pokemon Go groups, especially with the new G-Max stuff requiring huge groups.

Hello! I know there a million of these posts, but I would love to start a present day one.
I just received a job offer in the Orem-Provo metro area. I’m a single man, salary is 70k. I live very far away right now and have no idea about anything.
If anyone could possibly just give me a rundown on like…best areas to live, reputation of certain areas or places that a local knows but someone else would have no idea.
Really just any tips/tricks/life hacks that may be out there for this area? Will the salary be pretty okay to live on? I know it’s not like, amazing, but I’d hope it’s good enough?
Any and all info would be appreciated so much!!!
Hello! I will be visiting your fine city 10/30 through 11/3 for FilmQuest, and Halloween is my favorite holiday. Are there any streets or neighborhoods that go crazy with Halloween decorations?
I’m also interested in other events or activities worth checking out. I will have a rental car so I can drive a little. I considered going to the Haunted Forest (near Provo), but some of its recent Google reviews are quite bad.
Would love any suggestions! Can’t wait to see Provo!
I was hired to take photos at this event tomorrow and it seems super fun, pull up!
Anyone just see the green streak over Mt. Timpanogos?!?!
I have pretty straight hair that’s easy to cut and hard to mess up. What’s the best place to get a cheap haircut? Preferably under $20.
The Halloween decorations on this house are really well thought out.
Hello — my family and I will be in Vineyard around Christmas time and we were hoping to go out to dinner one night. There are 11 adults and 6 kids (17 total). We are willing to drive 15-20 minutes. Can anyone recommend a decent restaurant would could get a reservation at? If our party size is too large, maybe just a good place we could all go and be somewhat near each other with good food?

I'd like to preface this by saying that I was born in Provo, I did most of my growing up in Orem and am currently living in Springville (only because my job doesn't pay super well.)
This place was fine as a Mormon boy growing up. But I stopped going to church around my 18th birthday 20 years ago. I never attended BYU. Never dated nor married. Never had a job that paid $40k+. Never bought a house in the area.
I did however briefly attended SLCC and tried to move to Salt Lake. I was also recently vacationing in Vegas. Both of SLC's and Vegas' food, bar and nightlife options, quite frankly, puts Provo to shame (with possible exception to ABG's and the Marriott bar.)
I guess what I'm trying to say is that Provo sucks! Anyone agree?
I was the one who posted not long ago saying I just went homeless and needed somewhere to sleep and not get harassed.
Well my hardwork pays off and I'm still working even tho I'm homeless and I got the money for a room to rent but because of bad credit it doesn't seem likely I'm going to find anything!! Am I just doomed to be homeless?!
Hi! My brother married a beautiful woman from Japan and she is needing community to help her feel at home. Is there a community of people with Japanese origin? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 how can she connect with you/them if yes? Thank you!!!
I’m excited for this new art gallery where Writ & Vision used to be
The owner Shane of the 7 Eleven on center street and geneva in Provo Utah is a racist biased prick who fired my boyfriend and permanently tresspassed us over hearing a bunch of lies. He has the cops sit on his property and harass us because we have our medical cards and smell like weed but he lets the crackheads that work there smoke meth in his parking lot and leave on the clock all the time. We are both mixed and culturally black, but all the white people on meth can do whatever the fuck they want. He didn't hire his friend because he is very culturally black and he was saying in the interview "Oh California is pretty crazy." Which is where he is from and bunch of questions that had nothing to do with the job. Then he hired 2 culturally white black guys and one didn't do shit and the other was flirting with 14 year olds and following women around the store and talking to himself all the time. Neither lasted a week. We also know a lot of the regulars, we have hung out outside of work with most of the coworkers and they are pretty cool but fuck Shane. He didn't even ask my boyfriend about anything he just listened to whatever everyone else said and they didn't even know what they were talking about about. ALL BLACKS AND MIXED PEOPLE GO AND MAKE THEM UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!
In California, if friends gather together, we usually go to enjoy delicious food, go big shopping centers or specialty shops, watch movies, sing and dance in a quiet bar by the pier, listen to music and chat, or go to a grand music festival, dance, etc. Here in Utah, it's hiking hhhiiikking. Maybe hiking is free, so the friends here are more thrifty. The mosquitoes here are particularly fierce. I stayed on an island ranch for a few minutes, and my legs were swollen like steamed buns after being bitten by mosquitoes. It will probably take more than three months to heal. The people here are warm and friendly, the religious atmosphere is strong, and the public security is relatively good.
I'd love to know everyone's favorite local coffee shops that make really great pumpkin spice lattes and/or fall drinks and why! I've heard Peace on Earth Coffee is really good. Any others I should know about?
There's no homeless shelters around here but I want to stay close to my job. Where can I go to sleep and not get harassed by police for just trying to sleep? Community action and housing are all out of vouchers. Food and care coalition has a huge waiting list. Where can I go?
I moved out of a Redstone Residential property on August 1st. They emailed me a document saying I’d get my security deposit back on August 20th, but as of today, October 8th, I haven’t gotten anything back. Has anyone had any similar experience? I’ve called and emailed several times, and no one is responding.
I’m going to be in Provo for a few days for work and I have most of one day to do some hiking, but I won’t have a car. If I took an Uber from Orem to the Stewart Falls trail, would I be able to get an Uber back from out there? I see it’s close to Sundance but I never really now how far out is too far for Uber. Thanks!
