I’m an international student who studied in a Utah high school for a year and a half before. I'm studying in a university rn, so I’m looking to transfer to UVU, but I know out-of-state tuition is around $9,000, while in-state tuition is about $3,000. I heard about another international student who transferred to UVU after studying in a university in Utah for a year and is paying in-state tuition. Is that true? If so, how can I qualify for in-state tuition? Any information would be really helpful!
For my degree I need 3 science classes and I took biology and meteorology this semester and I’m looking for a fairy easy science class. If anyone has taken astronomy is it an easy class? Any other easy science classes?
I want to be sure I get more eyeballs on this than the 2-month old thread https://www.reddit.com/r/UVU/comments/1ezoj8n/has_anyone_purchased_from_influxer_merch/
I only purchased on Oct 25 (different athlete, different school, but that's beside the point) but based on the above thread and other information I have found I have disputed the transaction with the bank. For one thing, they have 7 better business bureau complaints and their rating is one star.
More telling, the TX Secretary of State, where they filed as an LLC their business filing status as "forfeited existence". If that doesn't sound good we are on the same page. For instance I googled that and this is what I found: https://www.sos.texas.gov/corp/forms/boc/involuntary-termination-2014.pdf
I think that Tyler Jaynes created this company in 2023 merely to try to make it look legitimate so that he could then eventually rip off people. Have you seen the absurd "ABOUT US" page, https://influxermerch.com/about-us ? You do NOT need 31 people to run a company like this.
I did background reports on Tyler Jaynes. The phone number listed actually dials HIS FATHER. I looked up other people listed as employees and they have NO PHONE NUMBERS. People who have relatives who have signed with them, have they received any moneys? Did they ever deal with anybody but this Tyler person?
Complaining to the State's Attorney general is a good idea. Luckily, I'm right in Texas, the same state as him. I'm also going to see if the Waco paper is interested in a local fuck-up. And I'm thinking about contacting the NCAA themselves first thing this Monday. Any other ideas as to how we can put this scumbag out of business will be of interest to me. He ripped off the wrong person, when I get on a mission, I'm full speed ahead, as you can probably tell LOL
EDIT: As to the complaint I'll be submitting to the NCAA, I'm going to "scrape" his website for the names of ALL the athletes he is ripping off. Which entails writing a computer program that will go through the entire website. It's not the easiest but the big mistake this guy made in ripping me off, is that I'm a semi-retired web developer!
I’m trying to get into the aviation program and I had a knee injury in May of this year. Talked with my advisor and she said that I could’ve gotten a spot in ground if I had just asked a couple weeks prior, and told me to re-apply in the fall semester for spring. Well a couple weeks ago, spring applications opened up, and I tried applying again, and it told me to speak with my advisor for permission to get in. I spoke with her today and she said that I am 11 days too late to apply for ground because it’s done through an online application between September and October.
What the actual fuck is going on? I’m pissed because she didn’t tell me any of this back in June and now I’m wasting my own damn time just fiddling around with meaningless classes that don’t even count towards my degree. Is there anywhere I can go for an exception for my circumstances or am I just SOL at this point?
Anyone know what’s going on with the front runner today? I see three Frontrunner trains just stopped at the Orem station
Hey! Freshman here. Do y’all dress up on Halloween?? What’s the vibe?
Hi, I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone has some thoughts on the Cybersecurity program. Did you like it and why or why not? Also have you gotten a job yet?
I recently finished learning MSA and would like to practice speaking in MSA or other dialects, but I don't know anyone who speaks Arabic and I was hoping to find someone that I could chat with face to face rather than chatting over an app or online.
Let me know if you or someone you know would be interested in meeting on campus to chat in Arabic sometime
For my degree I’m supposed to take an American institution class but I have no idea what that is. What are some classes that count towards that preferably the easiest?
Hi guys I come across lots of classes that say 0 of 0 waitlist seats are remaining and wanted some information on what this means. Is there no hope of getting into a class like that?
I’ve been at UVU for a couple years but it’s been a mostly lonely experience tbh, I’ve gone to some events and parties and met some folks but most people seem to already have a group of friends that they stick with, and I haven’t really met anybody to actually hang out with or do anything outside of class or anything.
I’ve also noticed people here are just a little less social and kinda closed off more so I just feel like I’m intruding or getting in someone’s space when it comes to approaching people generally.
I guess I’m just looking for some advice how to get past the wall I’m hitting or if maybe it’ll just kinda get better after I’m finished with my GE classes and I’m around people that match more of my interests (I’m in the digital audio program).
I should also mention I haven’t really liked going to (LDS) church or church events (like FHE etc.) because of the religious trauma I’ve experienced and the community never felt welcoming and more like a trap to pull me deeper into the religion, but I’m struggling to find community outside of that now and I’m not sure what people do instead lol.
Any advice is welcome
Hello guys, we are doing a group project for a social media class regarding wellness at UVU. I would really appreciate it if you could help us out by filling out this survey. Thank you!
Hi, Im coming in to UVU next year, I was wondering how good the Comp Sci department is, and if anyone particularly recommends the Animation & Game Development class?
A nice conclusion to the very impressive regular season.
When I was at the UVU cafeteria, I was eating pizza in the first floor of the dining room. And then with the corner of my eye, saw something small moving in the floor, and when I turned around, I saw a small rat running around. I was not only shocked because of the rat, but that no one noticed it. Does this happen frequently?
Hi guys! I’m a freshman and I got accepted to the Honors Program (with the housing award) starting next semester! I’m really excited about it and I would love to hear some tips and tricks, experiences in the program, anything that could help me prepare going forward. I won’t be moving to the Honors housing until August, but this will be my first time living on my own so any suggestions, things to expect, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
People who have had cleaning checks and actually cleaned well, what are the chances of passing it? I’ve read numerous reviews online saying no matter how much they cleaned they would always find something to fail them just to squeeze more money out of college students. I’d rather pay a $50 fee then to spend hours cleaning and then failing a near impossible cleaning check.
Does anyone know what tow company the green uses? And how do I get my vehicle back?
I’ve never played the game and kind of want to find someone who plays it. I live at the green
i’m looking around Utah for a good Dental Hygiene program, is anyone currently in the UVU program? what are your thoughts? is it worth applying to?
this may be a dumb question, but i want to know if anyone here would maybe have an answer. I am originally from New Hampshire, and i’m living in utah going to uvu. I have one in person class, that is full term. I have a family emergency going on at home and want to finish my semester there to be with them, I don’t really want to wait until december. Would it be possible to finish an in person class online, or does it not work like that? Want to get some insight before i talk to my professor
Everyone talks about how good anatomy lab is here, but I am sorely dissatisfied with the cadavers the lab has here. It looks like they’ve been here for a decade. Structures are broken and some are not even there anymore. Other schools rotate cadavers yearly. Why does UVU not do this?
Hey y’all, I have 94 credits at UVU. I started college here in the summer of 2019 and then because of COVID, serving a mission, etc I have yet to graduate. I just got into the program I was hoping for and learned it’ll still take me 2 MORE YEARS to graduate. Y’all I am so over it. Are there any hidden treasure majors that are quick and easy to graduate from? I know I’ll have at least a year left to do, but with how my first semester has gone in the program I’m in it’ll be hell finishing. I’ve taken all the generals I needed for an art degree plus a bunch of art classes. Thank you!!
