Sorry guys
Wow. I was not expecting that. I was expecting corproate democrats. But these were people who were very open to me being a progressive. They love Bernie & AOC. It started with a woman who freaked out in 2016 about Trump getting elected. Then a whole slew joined. I met so many people who taught me about how our state government works, how local government affects our day to day lives work, the experiences of those who ran for office before and what their struggles were. One woman told us she was canvassing BY HERSELF for 12 hours before polls opened. Me and my sister are super socially anxious so we asked her how she had the courage to do that. And she told us for the same reason that made both of us come to this democratic committee night. It was inspiring. These are our neighbhors who are also doing incredible work at the ground level that really matters. AOC was right, this kind of movement is bottoms up, not top down. And running for office in our local townships on a progressive platform is what we need. Please join your local democratic committee. Just meet the people! It was so nice to be able to talk to people IRL about politics.
This is a fan-made introduction with the Law & Order: SVU theme, but includes two shots of George Norcross. Not sure if this post is appropriate for the subreddit.
Plus, I grew up watching Law & Order: Special Victims Unit here and there.
