I can’t really afford their monthly costs, so does anyone else know where I could go to swim some laps and burn some calories in the water? I think the swim school in Mount Laurel is only for children, so that might be out, too.
Anyone else smelling this chemical smell in the air in Mount Laurel?
Edit that should read North
That is all.
Hey there! Hope everyone’s having a great day. Throughout my time working within the county, I’ve come across a many of people. Those who’ve made some of the biggest impressions are the homeless. Yes, we all know they exist, but I think a lot of the time, it’s been ignored. Now, we’ve all seen it. You go into your local library, especially in the winter, they stay all day, as not to freeze. Recently I’ve switched locations, so it is not as easily accessible for me to get to the homeless residents that I was once acquainted with. I really hate to sound like a beggar, but it’s not for me, it’s for them. Homeless people need all sorts of things. They need clothes, food, (that they can cook, not frozen turkeys ffs, who came up with that dumbass idea?? I’m getting off track, sorry.) and various other items. I just had a homeless person ask me if I knew where to get “a well insulated sleeping bag” for free. Obviously not. However, I figured I would ask here. Lots of the homeless people I’d met like to go down to that church in Absecon and get things here and there. If anyone would be so generous as to donate old things they may not need anymore, please don’t hesitate. Doesn’t have to be just for the people I knew. Doesn’t matter where you go, make a donation. If you have extra blankets, old coats, boots, whatever, please stop by your local churches or wherever you know it’s truly for a free giveaway. The homeless woman I am still in communication with also has a go fund me. I will not post here as she is afraid of it being found by the wrong person. If anyone would like to make a donation to her personally, doesn’t matter how little, please message me so I can send you the link.
I know things are tight with everyone right now, but this has been the toughest year on my family and I. I would really appreciate recommendations for assistance for the holidays for my teen daughter for a gift under the tree. All of the places I’ve searched have a cutoff of 12 years old, or are maxed out with participants. She doesn’t have any requests because she knows things are really rough and I struggle with the basics. Just something simple would mean a lot to her.
Edit: I’m not sure if this post is allowed in this sub, if not, my apologies.
Edit #2: I’m sorry, I posted an update and somehow I am now seeing it didn’t go through? I feel it very necessary to be transparent, someone is going to donate a pair of shoes, two other people are donating clothes and someone is donating legos. I am absolutely overwhelmed and don’t even know what to say. I more than received a miracle. I went from dreading Christmas to can’t wait to see her face!! She will be so happy! Edit #3: She was gifted socks, a pillow, a blanket, colored pencils and paper, headphones, shampoo, skin care products.
Edit #4: I just want to thank you all. I love where I live and this subreddit. I hope you all are blessed this holiday season!
Edit #5: I’m sorry, I’m even annoying myself at this point. I just wanted to let the people who donated know that I can provide my disability income statement if you would like. You have all been amazing and no one asked, you are so kindhearted and amazing people, I just know there are so many scammers out there and it’s hard to trust people. That’s why I posted on my account instead of a throwaway. You can see my life over past 5 years and where things went bad this year, probably tmi. Edit #6: A loved children’s tablet with a princess case.
When we bought our home it came with geothermal heating and cooling. It is an open loop system, which means that it pumps water from a well, passes it through a heat exchanger, and then pumps it into the woods out back (where it eventually filters through the ground and back into the aquifer). Pumping the water from the well adds to the electric bill. We have had a lot of problems with this system over the years and have also had some extremely high electricity bills. With AC Electric raising rates to $0.25 per kWH (total cost), I am looking at alternatives. Fortunately, SJ Gas is putting a natural gas line down our street early next year, so I am thinking of converting to a high efficiency furnace and traditional air conditioning. Has anyone else done this? Right now, NG prices (with fees and taxes) are $2 per therm. Anyone using NG who can comment on price fluctuations the past 10 years? Another option for us would be to go with a variable speed air source heat pump. Anyone with that type of heat pump in south NJ who can comment on the good and the bad? Thanks.
Hey y'all! I'm going to be visiting the Beverly area for about 3 weeks from Oregon & my family is originally from Cinnaminson/Morrestown area so I grew up visiting the area but I dont drive. So while I'm familiar of the trifecta between taking day trips to/from NY & Philly I don't actually know how to do any of it using public transport 😂
Additionally how do y'all pay for public transport? Where I live in Oregon you can pay with cash or by scanning a barcode from an app (like oaying by app at Dunkin) but I heard some places require using ticket booths, apps only, or just a card?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good restaurant/caterer that can provide breakfast/brunch items that you pick up on Christmas Eve (to be served on Christmas Day)?
We’re in Medford but can travel up to 45 minutes away.
I was looking at Wegman’s and Whole Foods but was hoping for a smaller business. We used ShopRite Medford in the past and it was a nightmare experience (2+ hour wait in line for them to only have half our order).
Thanks in advance!
Anyone know of any drive through Christmas light displays? Or walk through? But I mostly wanna bring my dogs 🥹
My neighbor is incredibly loud and I cannot take it anymore. I don't want to be "that neighbor" but there has to be some law against this stuff.
He has a full garage band (drums, electric guitar, bass, lead and backup vocals) playing in an open garage where you can hear every word blocks away. He fixes old cars, ATVs, etc. from his driveway and is constantly revving them nonstop and driving the ATVs in circles off of his property. He has motorcycle meetups where they all wear cute jackets with their names on it and sit outside idling/revving their motorcycles. All of this happens on weeknights or on Sunday afternoon, from a single family home surrounded by single family homes.
I'm not in favor of outlawing people from playing instruments or fixing your cars, but this is much more than that. I don't see how it's legal to have a full blown concert in open air when cops can get called on house parties. That, on top of running a makeshift mechanic shop on the loudest vehicles imaginable from a residential property.
The kicker is, this guy has a reputation for being a bit of a prick and unreasonable. Talking to him about it isn't an option and would be putting myself in danger. Is calling the cops, where he might retaliate, the only other option? What Would You Do?
Any recommendations for obscure/particularly divey bars in the area? Buddy and I want to see what South Jersey has to offer in the way of cheap macrobrews and dingey vibes. Been to places like the Highland in Gloucester and Colonial Cafe in W Deptford already

Does anyone know any internships for architectural design or law firms in New Jersey?
I get they filed for bankruptcy but at least the one near me in Cherry Hill is about 1/3 at best stocked with items. I went into it today to buy deodorant and 8ft section of deodorant had ONE entire stick left. The store is empty shelf after empty shelf and are complete ghost towns. There is nothing to buy. Even in bankruptcy there is no way these stores are turning any profit as all their suppliers will not supply with product any longer because they have money to purchase product anymore.
For first time homebuyers, are there any effective ways to compare the real property taxes people are paying? I'm finding it really hard to compare towns because of the difference in tax assessments. For example, a town like Collingswood on the surface seems like it should have middle of the road taxes based on the 2.98% rate, but most of the houses seem to be assessed at less than 50% of their current value, so the tax deal seems good relative to the same priced home in Cherry Hill which it seems has a more true-to-value assessment scheme.
The websites like Zillow and Redfin don't always seem to have accurate information either, so it's hard to really compare apples to apples when the tax picture on the same home price can vary by $5k+ per year.
Any tips or pointers here would be appreciated. We're looking at the Haddon Ave towns and the immediately surrounding areas like Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, and Oaklyn.
Hey peeps! Just looking to see if there's anywhere to learn judo for adult beginners nearby?
Anyone have any info on the helicopters flying around the llast hour or so. I'm near the hospital but it doesn't sound like the typical helicopters i hear.
Recently got a packet from AW about their LSLRP about working with a 3rd party firm to replace customer's service pipe if it's made of lead or galvanized steel.
Everything looks like it checks out, including a mention on the AW site. ( https://www.amwater.com/njaw/water-quality/lead-and-drinking-water/ )
There are certain phrases like "....we’d like to work with you to replace it at no direct cost to you" which makes me apprehensive.
In short - has anyone dealt with this?
I (M/22) am looking for any roommates to rent a reasonably priced house/apartment on the south Jersey shore for the summer 2025 season. Wanting to live and work down the shore for the season but hoping to cut housing/rental prices by splitting rent.
Let me know if interested!
Was wondering if anyone on Reddit in the area knows of any Massage parlors that go the extra mile. Asking for a friend. Would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2018 Chevy Equinox. Out of all warrantys. The Dealership is too expensive. I am looking for a good/reliable & honest mechanic for all future service needs. I am actually coming up on an oil change/ tire rotation and I believe I am due for a transmission flush.
We have family come in from Cali every year. I find we need more fun things to do to get out the house. What’s a fun day trip we can do? This would be the day after Christmas or over the weekend. Besides Longwood Gardens or Christmas Markets in Philly. Or museums in Philly because we’ve done all of that. Adults and teens. We walk the OC boardwalk if weather is nice. Do the arcade. We go to Cape May. Does anyone have other ideas of what we can do? Willing to drive 2ish hours from Atlantic County. We like to eat, be outside, try new things. Open to ideas! Thanks!
